| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/15/2007 11:55:37 AM | Opti: No but what a damn good idea, it would certainly make a change from "can I feel yours" lol.
Spritzer: I'll be at E/B Mags, that's 2 weeks after the others, I'm looking forward to the rest in between, currently the badge is going on tour for 6 out of 7 weeks lol.
OT: Anyone out there capable of making me a badge in Braille? I kinda like the idea now!

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/23/2007 3:42:53 AM | We had sticky label name badges at the Birmingham meet night they are good for finding out who people are on the night. Also if you are shy then you can always message people after the meet. I like the plastic ones they give you in Birmingham at the meet nights now it means you are able to save it for the next one. I have made my badge ready for the Cardiff meet as per GG instructions | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/4/2007 12:15:10 AM | | The badges are a great Idea...I like to look through the pics taken on meets and It helps to see whos whos...even when I didnt go... | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/20/2008 4:02:16 PM | Yay all hail to the wearer of badges.........it so helps the old ones to remember names... | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/20/2008 4:36:05 PM | I would have advocated the use of name badges, for all the reasons stated above, if I had read the thread. 1 folk can identify you, not relevent, they should have come to speak on the night. 2 folk can identify you from the pics, why? they weren't there, they would recognise you if they were. 3 there isn't a 3
We haven't had name badges for 3 months and it's not made a difference, tell me if it has.
I must admit it seemed a good idea to stick your name badge on someone you had your eye on but never spoke to at the end of the night, but I never heard of anyone doing it.
I have heard of someone attending several meets and then organising a date with someone who had caught their eye, totaly unrelated to badges though.

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/20/2008 10:57:42 PM | Despite the badges, I once swapped marker pen names on arms with a guy at a meet... Not sure what the purpose of that was as he never kept in touch...and it took me 3 days to fully remove the name from said arm ....No more marker pens for me...If anyone sees me even looking at a marker pen...please take it away.... | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 2:58:09 AM | Last manchester meet i went to, i found a certain young ladies name badge stuck down my pants, dunno how that got there | |
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 3:06:27 AM | I think they are a really good idea. The last meet i did,not many people would wear one. Those were mostly men who just stood in a corner on there own. | |
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 3:11:14 AM | I think that badges can help break the ice if you are a bit shy. It gives you something to say...
I usually get a shocked "You're Miz Understood??!!" when people read mine...considering most of my pics were taken at PoF meets, I assume this means that the quiet, shy, unassuming one in the corner is not the harradian fish wife people assume from my forum postings...
The best one I ever had was at a Worthing meet, I had two! Miz Understood and Needs a Snog.
Worked too!

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 4:01:24 AM | Is there any connection between not wanting name badges and not wanting your picture taken at meetings?
Maybe many of us see the meets as a way to get out once in a while and know there will be lots of similar people who are not necessarily there for potential partners but enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
Don't have any problem with name badges in fact I think it is a courtesy which acknowledges the amount of time freely given by the hosts to organise the event.Hosts are visible and have made an effort to provide a venue where others can attend in a safe and friendly environment so why do people insist on anonimity?
Anyway next time I attend a meet I want a name badge that reads---
"I have just won the Lottery.Fancy a shag"
then only sincere people will approach me.

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 4:09:42 AM | I got a nice big shiny plastic one from the first welsh meet that I re-use.
Feel a bit of a tit when I'm the only one walking round with a proper badge on though!
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 4:12:49 AM | I always take my home made hard card badge!! Usually have it on my handbag though coz it is too big for pinning to my body. I have to make sure that everyone knows who I am, I mean I am such a star!!
^^^ Tan my darling I am sure you dont look a tit at tall!!!

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 5/21/2008 4:33:47 AM | At the meet I organised recently in Worcester, many people wanted to put their real name on their badges. I half agree that this is a good idea but then no-one knows where to find you on the site if they want to message you afterwards!
At the next one I think I'm gonna let people make their own when they arrive and show a little of their personality in the way they decorate it etc!
