How Do Ladies Feel About Guys That Can Cook
Posted: 12/19/2007 7:58:39 AM

I don't know a single guy who says he can't cook. They think they are soooo good at it and they want to prepare a nice gormet meal for me but then the meal is spaghetti and they burned the sh*t out of the hamburger!

I know these guys too; my best freind is one:

"I can cook, watch!" At which point he breaks out the tuna helper box.
But this is also the same guy that I've seen *litterally* coo over frozen burritos.

They make it tough on those of us that really can.

I tell people I can't cook (can cook meals like spaghetti or lasagna) because I don't make 3 course meals.

You have just meet one, I have no ability to cook nor do I want any. If you can’t throw it in the microwave or “just add water” it's not happening, but on the plus side I’m not a picky eater at all, I will eat just about anything as long as it’s not canned meat, I don’t do that.

Is that the only thing he can do? Just cooking?

If so, that is wierd.

However, if he just someone likes to cook...fine with me.

How Do Ladies Feel About Guys That Can Cook?

hmm.. We try them out, and if they turn out good cooks, we either marry them, or let them spoil us for a while with their skills and then dump them for the guys, who can take us out to expensive restaurants..

yep.. :]

Nothing better than a man in the kitchen with a cool apron on and great smells in the air. I'll keep his wine glass topped up!!

Fantastic! But be sure to familiarize yourself with my abilities and needs in the kitchen before you start. I want to make sure that what I can do gets recognized before we duplicate our efforts. That is the most relationship-friendly, cooperative way to do it.

I dont like guys that cook that just come in and take over how I am doing things in the kitchen. Its like "whoa, what are you doing?", but if we've talked about it or say 'lets try making this together' or you say "help me make this, I'll show ya", or something, that is WAY COOL!

cooks, cleans, and does laundry!

I want this one under my tree this year..
You do Laundry also oh darlin,

My heart just flipped over..
Men and cooking would love it.
I would also love it if they would be willing to share their knowledge..
Since I am a gourmet cook,
I love to cook and create dishes..

I think that there is lots to be said about a man who can take his time and energy to do something well. Plus, for women who enjoy cooking, well thats a fun night in the two of you can enjoy doing together. I once dated a guy who did ok in the kitchen...and I now find myself missing those times we would split the cooking duties and enjoy the fruits of our labour afterwards...it was nice :)

What is your preference? Greek? Souvlakia with red pepper sauce, spanokapita, Zuchinni salad, Pita bread sticks with Tzatziki sauce, and Apricopita for dessert. Or Mexican? My own creation, stuffed green chilis with chicken, monterey jack cheese, cream cheese dipped in tempura batter, deep fried, served with roasted poblamo cream. Along with drunken pintos with bacon, salad served with tequila/orange vinagrette, and for dessert, warm cajeta pudding. Or would you prefer Jamaican? With Jerked pork, festival served with honey, and butter, fried cabbage, and pineapple pie for dessert. Or Irish? Traditional corned beef and cabbage, deep fried blue cheese stuffed mushrooms served with mustard/meade dip, and apple/whiskey creme brulee for dessert? I really can cook all of these. Although I am not on here to be a live in chef, lol. I really want a serious realtionship with someone who can appreciate what I have to offer.

Cooking is a very basic life skill, if a guy cant cook how f'n r*tard*d is he? What else can't he do, read? I think that a guy cooking is not something to be considered an asset or something to be applauded, it is like saying "oh my god, he is so awesome, he can wipe his own a$$- you go boy!" Well anyhoo, I might be a bitter woman lol but hey if he can't cook he is a LOSER.

I love a man who can cook! When I was married, I cooked all the meals...I only learned my best recipes from my mother...it was more of a I-do-this-because-it-was-the-womans-place-to-do-it kinda thing...and not that I didn't enjoy it..it's just not something that I was that "into". Now that I'm single..I'm finding it to be the thing for the man to invite me over for dinner...I really like this and most of the men I have met love to cook!

What woman wouldn't love that. :p

Cooking takes time and patience. It's meditative. It says he has patience and creativity. Always nice.

Well, it's the XXI century, princess. He doesn't have to cook to stay alive. And I also think it's a bonus, if he not only makes a career, but also finds time for experimenting in the kitchen. Or.. has nothing against learning even a few basic things..

If I were to choose, I'd pick the guy who can read and knows English over the one with good cooking skills..

Doesn't matter to me either way. A guy who can afford to take me out to eat would be better but he can cook if he wants to...

Realistically though, anyone can cook if they can follow directions. It's nothing to be impressed with. Furthermore, you better be able to cook if you are single or I'd wonder how you stayed alive on your own.

I do not agree with this. I love to cook and always have. Some of the best things come from the heart. I have never opened a cook book and I can prepare some meals that blow people away. Anyone can take you out and buy dinner but it doesn't show any level of interest. Ya it shows that you have money but I can spend more in a dinner for two at home then I can dinning out. I am a heavy equipment operator and I have people over from work 2 or three nites a week that bring their families over as well and I still amaze them every time.

I don't know why women are generally so impressed by this. If a guy lives alone for any amount of time... how else will he eat if he doesn't cook? Order out all the time? I can't see this happening. At least not ALL the time.

I don't care. If he can't, so what? If he can, that's nice. Either way, I've been skating by with my cooking inability (and lack of desire) alone just fine.
