| What Musical Instrument do You Play? Posted: 7/29/2007 3:25:57 PM | I play the guitar - currently have four. 1. a Fender Squier, my first 2. An Ibanez s470fm, my gig guitar 3. Jackson, not sure the model, but my practice guitar 4. Epiphone acoustic, will soon be moving up to a martin 12 string. I run the electrics through a Marshall headed half stack. I play the bass, as well as the piano and have a Wurlitzer upright.
I also am heavy into synths and use to have a korg trinity, but sold it :( Im doing some recording now, and primarily write my own stuff, but since I play by ear I often will start playing chord progressions and realize I am playing some other persons song

| What Musical Instrument do You Play? Posted: 8/2/2007 5:25:20 AM | | I only ever played acoustic guitar for many years... then, right outa the blue, I walked into an instruments store and played virtually every electric guitar I could lay my hands on... it was totally mad! Lol! My other love is playing the drums... next time I'm up that way they best have the ear muffs ready! :0) | |

| What Musical Instrument do You Play? Posted: 8/5/2007 11:32:07 PM | I play flute, trombone, tenor sax (the one I prefer), and piano. I am also a singer and sing in burlesques shows from time to time.
The one instrument I don't play that I have always wanted to is the guitar... anyone willing to teach me?!

| What Musical Instrument do You Play? Posted: 9/23/2007 5:01:55 AM | I played classical as a 2nd violin in orchestras up until grad school.
When I took the violin back up, it was to accompany my friends as they sang folk and roots rock. I'll sometimes go to hosted blues jams to play, raising some eyebrows until I have played a bit.
I enjoy jamming in a variety of genres (and their blends), folk, rock, blues, Cajun, Celtic, swing, bluegrass, country, etc. But, blues is my current fave.
I have an acoustic 4 string violin/fiddle and wooden electric 5 string.
I also play mandolin. In addition to a few wooden mandos, I have a resophonic mando I often play slide on (I keep it in standard tuning though).
My bands have been playing mostly coffee-houses since I moved back to MN. I do miss playing more raucous music that keeps people bopping their feet flat all night and part of the morning.
Still looking for a steady gig accompanying a musical lady. (yes, the double entendre is intentional)

| What Musical Instrument do You Play? Posted: 9/23/2007 12:48:25 PM | | Hi, I'm a guitarist who also sings, although I've worked with some REALLY top notch female singers when I lived in Montreal... Been playing for over 20 years & I'm still pretty serious about it. I do top 40 & classic rock covers, but also have lots of original tunes. | |

I currently play lead guitar in a kiss cover band. but i can play any form of guitar.
Thats pretty sweet! I remember as a kid Ace Frehley made me want to play guitar, Randy Rhoads made me want to be a musician. :)
We always played Detroit Rock City in our sets. ALWAYS packed the dance floor. LOVED playing that song. But every time the solo would come up (I played the second line) I would think to myself "oh my god, I NEVER practice this damn solo. I hope I get it, God I really should practice it more, OMG OMG .... Ok i'm good"
LOL you know how it is, if you hit that first note you're good for the whole solo, and do it on autopilot. If I miss that first note, it can be a whole lot of ugly! :)

| What Musical Instrument do You Play? Posted: 10/1/2007 8:48:45 AM | | Primarily Keyboards & vocals, but also a bit of guitar (acoustic), bass, drums... I'm a singer/songwriter/producer, so you have to have a bit of proficiency on all these things. It's pretty rare when I have to lay down actual bass & drums these days, though, 'cause you can just program that stuff in via your synth. What about y'all? Any other Electronic Musicians out there? | |
