| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/22/2007 7:08:39 PM | As a child summer was an adventure to be born Each day a new gift to open Whether it be a trip to the zoo, a concert Going to the fair and eating cotton candy Swimming out under the sky Hiking in the cool of the forest Each day I want to experience that feeling again I have been starved for adventure Write down in a book all the things you want to do Pick one out when time permits And feel something different The excitement running through your veins Simplicity The part of life that is free Walking stick dreams. | |

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/22/2007 7:24:08 PM | Autumn, we have two old time villages within a 20 minute drive, Auglaize Village and Sauder's Village (yes, the ones who make the furniture) . I have never been to either one, but would love to take the kids! I haven't been to the zoo yet this year, or the new exhibit at the art museum in Toledo....there is so much to do that's free, or very low cost. There is a winery, several trails, and friends I can camp with. *************************************************************************
mea culpa
I live, live, live to honor the dead they, no less deserving of life than me can have no more sunrises hopeful mornings I borrow their eyes to sort for importance to perceive afresh the old, the tired an embarrassment of riches in my pile of days

Hey sweetie, how you been? I haven't had any ethical dilemmas, though a few supressed desires have cropped up.......I've been lusting for a vacation and a new sidewalk...... VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/22/2007 9:57:00 PM | Waterfall
Sheets of rain like Niagara fall, all too often at my feet. It's too much really, for me to bear your tears. Look behind your waterfall. A country rich with fruit bearing trees, salmon streams and precious gems awaits. Slip behind the sheets of water. Wash your tears away with secrets, found within.
thought I'd drop this here. inspired by FL/LL but revised since then...

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/23/2007 2:04:27 AM | I always wanted to be more Letting go of my own ego my God understands and my friendship with Jesus finally makes me no better than you for Forever being the child taking baby steps as a human Asking God to mature me Until the awakening I fly with angels Living on your planet does not mean I have to reside here I still have my dreams in the southern warm winds
I smile in the gift of your friendship

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/23/2007 5:23:02 PM | First off, news that bums me out......I won't be able to make it to Canada for the poetry festival. To put it plainly, I'm living much too close to the bone, and have even had to borrow money from relatives, which I have never done before.....it's embarrassing to admit, but I had to say it so you wonderful people realize if there were a way I could come meet you , I would. I took the time off, and was really looking forward to it. This is possibly a once in a lifetime chance......
Autumn, one day we'll meet.......where is Oprah when you need her?
Naive, you've been on fire lately! Good writes!
Humor, well, apart from the filched poem, which did astonish for many different reasons, I've never been published.....oh, I think my school booklet, I forgot.......
greengrassofhome, another gorgeous write....and I would love to see Canada's salmon streams and fruit bearing trees.....
Erik, even if they remove Bush's head from his own rectum, he'll just have it up Cheney's soon after........
Another, I always feel like I'm so unevolved.....especially here, I feel as if I stand among giants with their big hearts...... ***********************************************************************

traveling to pre-school we sight geese dining in a field chipmunk dart from the railroad tracks herd of donkeys with one foal hawk landing; driving by houses noting changes folks never met still, we are glad new swingset repouring a foundation - house suspended above pools, ponds golf tees, decks, porches horse track I love this land with deepness my roots the soil beneath my feet faith in my neighbors a flag unfurled by hope love open as the sky

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/27/2007 8:04:14 PM | Too cool, ravin, and I wish I could make it to the art-fest, but I'll be there in spirit.
"Desert" was lovely, brizo.
THE CUT ROSE
Red on a glass-white background, The rose is overwhelmed with seniority From the sprouting daisies sprocketting Their scents thoughout the dining room Where you've left your last song fading And rebounding in my imagination This summer eve, outback coyotes Piercing the wind with lonely abandon.
|
| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/27/2007 8:14:04 PM | thank you, Rory... Coyotes give me the lonely shivers, we have some out here. There are three profoundly lonely sounds. Coyotes, train whistles, and taps.
one true thing
if love were not true when I fell into your heart then everything right in this world was a lie and I will hold that picture of you and the air thick with feeling 'till I die

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/28/2007 7:24:08 AM | I agree that some amazing writes can be found on these last couple of pages...and actually in a twisted way I feel less low about myself as I see others here are in the same boat as I.
Not A Dime
Money is tight can't pinch a dime going to miss a poetry extravaganza what a crime other things must come first like kids that are hungry complaining of thirst my road trip left me financially drained so to head off to Ravin's would leave my pocketbook strained sad for I really wanted to go sit back listen to sweet poetry flow yet in spirit I can say I will be there watching from moonlit skies as great poets with words they share.
|
| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/28/2007 8:37:26 AM | We ARE all in the same boat,... too bad it's so small! Okay since we're packed in here like sardines, you know I cannot see you, but whoever has their hand down my swimtrunks,... that is NOT the rudder you are holding down there! hahahaha,...
Oh yeah,... let's leave a quote instead of a poem this time:
"I never spanked a girl I didn't like!" ~ Self quote.

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/28/2007 9:04:19 AM | Wooby, steal away.......what's mine is yours......remember to stop in on your way to and from the festival if you need a place to rest.....
Wicked, sorry that you can't make it.....I'm wondering if penpal will be able to swing it......I've "known" some of you a year, maybe more.....I can't remember when I started posting on the poetry boards...so the chance to meet was wonderful! A big hand to Ravin and Autumn for their work on this.....
Erik, thanks for the laugh! Nothing better for breakfast.......yeah, I just got up....

| Brizo's poems Posted: 7/28/2007 12:32:08 PM | Hi everybody. Looks like more than likely, I won't make it. But, that said, I thank Ravin for not ruling me out. Still, I'm inspired just by pondering distant prospects. Thanks again to all of you for being so beautiful to ponder.

one true thing and the cut rose are great poems, you guys.
a trip to canada
i’m afraid i’m still sitting on the fence it’s not about dollars, is about sense so many things to consider first then i’ll know if the plan is cursed does the dog need vet certification to cross the border of the canadian nation what is the status of my tent after eight years, maybe a bad scent better check my other camping gear don’t remember what i’ve got here is it really feasible to drive guessing ten hours to arrive maybe the ferry’s the way to go cut from rochester to toronto give me this week to investigate for my commitment, only a short wait at that point, we’ll all know if a trip to canada is a go
greengrass, thanks for the heads up on ravin's new thread. i don't visit the ontario forums much.

humor.....I hope you go....the Amtrack from your place shouldn't be too bad at all, if you can find camping gear to rent......
Autumn, I've had a perfectly useless day, and since I signed up for the dieting challenge at work, I can't even eat my way out of boredom.... *****************************************************************************
