But Dennis Kucinich - who surely knows he doesn't stand a hope in hell of getting nominated - is in it because he has things to say that NEED TO BE SAID and if possible heard.
Hello, Florida? Are your ears open????
Which of these guys/woman might you buy a used car from? Romney? He'd persuade you that it was a great car even though it has just two wheels and a handle-bar!
Giuliani? He'd run you OVER before he sold it to you!

And Paul? Absolutely, if you hate government interference in your life: Social Security, etc. . . . Let the best wolf win. . . .

lying in the grass I perceive an alternate reality scope achieved through scale awed by godlike perspective I humbly bow to creation's balance and maintain an interspecies policy of non-intervention

| brizo's poems Posted: 12/23/2007 7:15:30 PM | America
I still remember that day, When black and white vanished from your sight, Covered under that thick pale mask of dust, From fallen towers, Toppling to the streets below.
And at that very moment, The better angels of your nature, came down from the heavens, The ones Lincoln once called out to so long ago, With those mystic chords of memory , And they touched your souls.
A dream was realized on that day of nightmares, When the only thing that differed between you, Was the color of a man's eyes, And not his skin.
For that brief moment, You were all one, All together, All Americans.
I'll forever remember that day, And those ghostly images, Because they showed me , a foreigner, the real face of America, One that was always there, so often hinted at, but also so often hidden Beneath those rigid masks of fear, ignorance, and misunderstanding, All too quickly worn, The ones that blinded you from seeing properly, From seeing each other for the very first time, Exactly as what you always were, and always will be, Americans.
Merry Christmas, Brizo, and to all the other Americans here on POF.

| brizo's poems Posted: 12/23/2007 10:12:47 PM | I saw three cats come sailing in On Christmas day, on Christmas day I saw three cats come sailing in On Christmas day in the morning.
The first of the cats brought a big fat mouse On Christmas day, on Christmas day The first of the cats brought a big fat mouse On Christmas day in the morning.
The second cat hacked up a great fur ball On Christmas day, on Christmas day The second cat hacked up a great fur ball On Christmas day in the morning.
The last cat dined on our turkey On Christmas day, on Christmas day The last cat dragged that big fat bird Across the kitchen floor on Christmas day in the morning.
The family chased all the cats about On Christmas day, on Christmas day Mayhem reigned amuck throughout the house On Christmas day in the morning.

“Fermentation has been around forever. It is older than cooking. It was probably the first method of food preparation. Fermentation transforms grapes into wine, grains into beer, wheat into leavened bread. It transforms a raw ingredient, often valued for its nutrition, into one valued for its taste. It yields vinegar, yogurt, sauerkraut, cheese, prosciutto, vanilla, and pickles. It occurs most readily in fruits, because they have, in abundance, the two most essential elements: sugar and yeast. A yeast is on a leaf or a branch or in the air. It is the fine white powder on the skin of a grape, like a dust that you could wash off. At its most basic, fermentation is how sugar becomes alcohol.”

| brizo's poems Posted: 12/30/2007 4:58:42 AM | | It's marvellous how you manage to do so much with these short lines, as if you were too modest to occupy more space. | |

| brizo's poems Posted: 12/30/2007 2:42:48 PM | I liked how that one turned out....I didn't have to change anything later, some poems I tweak until they feel right....there are a few in here that still don't feel right, and it shows, they're awkward....
But life isn't always polished, so I leave most stuff, and I love the pages where Erik and Eye Guy and I were going back and forth, or the little coffee clatches the women have...

back to the garden
eden is burning our innocence kidnapped and bound on the express train hurtling to the future the song of the air is discordant and melancholy but we could travel on a dream of love, hope and strength how many times can we drown our optimism? sooner or later we have to listen to our consciousness to the brightness within to slow down our frantic pace and be grateful for the here and now

| brizo's poems Posted: 1/5/2008 3:43:37 PM | It has come to my attention that Bobby_7 has passed away....he was one of my first friends here on POF.....this is written in the rhyme he loved, though I can't hold a candle to his stuff...
Bobby_7
you took me in right from the start encouraged me to write my heart I always knew that if I rhymed I'd leave it in your thread in time
and then you left got an advance to write a book you took a chance and lived your dream so good on you you made us wish that we could, too
you crossed my path and made it better I wish I'd written you a letter... and I will miss you gentle friend I'll see you when I reach the end you lived life well with lots of class how sad we are to hear you passed
