| brizo's poems Posted: 9/7/2008 12:50:53 PM | this is for Bush and by extension now.....the entire Republican corporate war machine......
Death on Two Legs
You suck my blood like a leech You break the law and you preach Screw my brain till it hurts You’ve taken all my money And you want more Misguided old mule with your pig headed rules With your narrow minded cronies Who are fools of the first division
Death on two legs You’re tearing me apart Death on two legs You’ve never had a heart of your own Kill joy bad guy big talking small fry You’re just an old barrow boy Have you found a new toy to replace me? Can you face me? But now you can kiss my ass goodbye Feel good are you satisfied? Do you feel like suicide? (I think you should) Is your conscience all right Does it plague you at night? Do you feel good feel good?
You talk like a big business tycoon You’re just a hot air balloon So no one gives you a damn You’re just an overgrown schoolboy Let me tan your hide A dog with disease You’re the king of the ’sleaze’ Put your money where your mouth is Mister know-all Was the fin on your back Part of the deal? (shark)
Death on two legs You’re tearing me apart Death on two legs You’ve never had a heart (you never did) of your own (right from the start) Insane you should be put inside You’re a sewer rat decaying in a cesspool of pride Should be made unemployed Then make yourself null and void Make me feel good I feel good

| brizo's poems Posted: 9/7/2008 3:09:47 PM | | Very apropos, the song you dedicated to Bush, but how about Gov. Goody-goody Two-shoes and her smug, self-satisfied sarcasm, which I thought was at about the level of a high-school smart-a*s debater? | |

| brizo's poems Posted: 9/7/2008 3:24:36 PM | Hi Jer. I agree.
I don't have much to add except, thanks for the spunk, Brizo. I can't say I ever heard that song. Thanks, Freddie Mercury. (RIP)
A gay man in a cape so human, so true imperfect, frightened divine and proud Finding his way Giving his all...
Mercury for President, 2008!!!!
Ok, so what about Bush?

| brizo's poems Posted: 9/7/2008 3:43:19 PM | lol, we're probably all on the watch list....we'll know when we can't travel on a plane.....
Jer, I've been writing Sarah Palin's office since she became governor, so she was no news to me though I was completely appalled by McCain's choice. I in fact found out from the news on the Big Red Y right after I fired off another letter about opposing drilling in a protected area. She has passed regulation fueled by Safari Club International to open aerial hunting for wolves, is trying to delist Polar Bears as their protected status prevents oil drilling in their refuge, wants to reverse Roe~vs~Wade, tried to get her brother-in-law fired, tried to fire a librarian because she wouldn't ban books in the local library...
frankly, I couldn't care less if she's pretty or not, and anyone making a decision for VP or President based on physical appearance, race or gender ought to have their voting rights revoked.

| brizo's poems Posted: 9/7/2008 4:33:04 PM | You laugh heartily and think the same way, my friend.
I am proud you are an American.

It would appear that you knew a lot more about her than did McCain or his campaign team when they chose her! McCain is on record somewhere saying that the acts on his hunches, and he does so faster than the other guy. He also said that his hunches are sometimes wrong but that he's prepared to live with the consequences. Trouble is that the rest of the world will have to live with the consequences of this and some of his other hunches if he becomes President!

Had a heated debate last night where someone actually DEFENDED Bush....aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh
The same person went on to say that he would vote for McCain if he were an American...
All I can say is you can thank God he's not
Red necked bible thumpers blinded by their beliefs turning blind eyes for years to discrimination and death always quoting the scriptures to absolve their sins yet never stopping to think and act and behave with humanity
bit strong but I hope this election here and in the us will bring change.

| yeah!! Posted: 9/7/2008 7:06:48 PM | music to my soul Brizo..you know I needed that after suppressing so much last week with mom's church friends who truly do choose to vote based on Palin being 'pretty'..refuse to even listen to any reality facts at all..and most are being screwed now and they don't even see it... | |

| yeah!! Posted: 9/7/2008 8:21:03 PM | well Jer, according to the Republicans, Sarah was thoroughly vetted....all I can think is he wanted attention detracted from Obama and in that sense mission accomplished. I don't think she will last till the elections, and the cynic in me wonders if she was ever meant to....
Like you Bic, I love my country. I want to see the United States clean up it's tarnished reputation and return to the World stage as a team player. We're lagging behind with our health care system and our educational system, which have been secondary to our defense system for decades now. And if we miss the boat on new technology for alternative energy, we're going to miss out on the money....we'll have to pay someone else for something we should have developed ourselves.
En afrique, I'm dumbfounded at the simplistic approach some people are taking to voting, how they are voting on sentiment......I can't imagine in this day and age, when so much information is available so many don't research their candidates. There's a website www.votesmart.org and another www.ontheissues.org that detail candidates voting records and stances on issues. You can read the speeches and debates on the web.
I don't understand not doing so.....the same people who b!tch about the government sit on their lazy azzes and can't be bothered to vote. I hear the same old tired shyte: both parties are the same.....they're all cheats and liars, blah, blah, blah...well apathy is what they're counting on. Put down the beer, the joint and the remote and fvking vote!
*champrins* that's one thankless job there.....think I'll pass.....
Drea, see what you started this morning? Oh yeah, Medicare is a mess now....you should see when those poor folks fall in the "Donut Hole" where they have to pay 100% for their prescriptions.... ********************************************* drown

| yeah!! Posted: 9/8/2008 7:33:01 PM | It all pales into insignificance this pre-election rhetoric when one considers the basic fact that we will not be shot for espousing and pontificating with endless twaddle that our "rights" are being impinged upon.
Just saw TEZA at the Toronto International Film Fest (yes Brad IS here).....a film about the civil strife in Ethiopia.....

I don't think she will last till the elections, and the cynic in me wonders if she was ever meant to... Brizo~Its very heartening to see that I am not the only one to note McCain's obvious efforts to distract from the democratic campaign by bringing in a pretty face. In some ways I think its already starting to backfire on him...

| Now is the time Posted: 9/9/2008 2:56:13 AM | for all caring members here to send PMs to CdnReader who has been admitted to hospital with some very worrisome conditions. She is alone, having just recently moved to Halifax, NS, to begin a PhD programme and won't see your messages until - hopefully - she's well enough to resume accessing the internet but I'm confident she'd be enormously cheered by any words of caring she receives from you.
Thanks, Jerry | |

*sigh* I see McCain's four points ahead in the polls....who are these stupid people, so easily distracted and easily led to their own destruction?
en afrique, you're right about that. But how effective is our ability to protest when it falls on deaf ears?
JuJu, your boys are so cute....which one is the baseball player? Or both?
Jer, thanks for letting us know. I'll write her. Hopefully she'll see it, if it's no longer than a month's time......

| Now is the time Posted: 9/9/2008 8:10:47 AM | brizo you actualy got me a little choked up with that..all of it, but the Education thing really hit a painful nerve.... I take it back..I am so totally not sorry I got you riled up LOL..I actually felt a bit of RELEASE finally reading your posts..nice to know some are still immune to that dumbing down water lol lol...
someone suggested travelling would change our minds some of us have travelled to other countries believe me it can be an eye opener the way this country is really viewed arrogant the hatred was so intense at times I often simply said I was Canadian I would like to see us actually respected again everyone has a right to their opinion and to voice it but, our leaders can only create divisiveness with attitudes like "we can pray the gay away" bullying and arrogance needs to be absent in our leader NOT reading blogs can simply be a sign of burying your head in the sand the key is reading a variety of opinions and then researching the actual facts independently you don't stop there tho..you need to switch the channel off FNC from time to time listen to CBC/BBC/Aljazeera/read some foreign newspapers read some books from BOTH sides do it all with an open mind and maybe their is hope to wake up some lulled into their brain washed state before this country is destroyed from within not without
no more politics for me this week..It just all makes me too fvking sad and I have lots to do so I can put into action counteraction to the lies that keep popping into my email box...maybe only one will start waking up...but, change can come one at a time...
|
| Now is the time Posted: 9/10/2008 3:43:47 PM | I should just walk away from politics too....it raises my blood pressure too much....but to throw up our hands and declare them all the same bunch of liars and schemers is too disheartening. Perhaps I'm naive, but I want to believe in integrity..... *****************************************
The great I AM
But to forget I dare you I am the dappled sun that lights your way with warmth I am the flower, nodding to the bee I am the cooling breeze that sets the leaves to whisper I am the wild, the fey the feral watching your noisy progress with somber eyes I am the water that sings over rocks and baptizes soil and seed one day, you will join me beyond remembering you will, finally know peace through grace in being

| Now is the time Posted: 9/11/2008 4:30:00 PM | | Briz ~~ if they're going to sit on their lazy azzes and not find out the positions, stances, and records of all the candidates ~~ I think I'd just as *soon* have them sit home and not vote. We've been living with the results of *gut voting* for quite a while now. . . . | |
|
| Now is the time Posted: 9/11/2008 5:20:00 PM | *sigh*.....yeah, I'm despondent. I can't believe McCain is getting away with his cheap distraction (who is not THAT good looking, really folks!) and poor little Sarah antics.....while she pulls no punches and acts like the barracuda she's been likened to.
I never thought I'd see the day when politics looked like a Jr. High clique....

| Now is the time Posted: 9/11/2008 7:02:47 PM | I have a good friend, a diary farmer in Iowa who only has one pledge every general election: to deliver 100 new voters to the Democrats. He's been doing it for over thirty years now. And Iowa has turned from Red to Blue. . . . Love 'im!
I also think the Sarah dog and pony show's due to be over soon. There's not much there there, after all, lol! Meanwhile I'm enjoying the fact that McC can't seem to talk on his own any more. . . .
