standing pieces of a whole
weight upon my soul
I told my muse lets dance
lets troll for some meak
control is what I seek
speakin in tongues
optimistic is looking bleak
the dirt 6 foot deep
covered by dung
tiered of society shitin
on ME
tellin this is who you should be
defecation of a nation
arse...a_s... ugly
is what I call um
.....
stacked origami
.....
leadin to this creation
of frustration
I feel for the world
and to think I got little souls
I gota try to show this sh_t
UNFURLED.........
you can be yourself
and your biggest goal
doesn't have to be like
that anorexic picture of "perfection"
shit off the shelf
find your whole in this hole
of self
being different
make a stand in itself
......
......
puttin to bed the young
tell um

thanks for that line/perspiration
I remember asking me ma
She always said
If he makes you feel better than me
MARRY HIM!!!

I never wore white
Walked down the aisle
And ran outta there
Poor dadda I sent him to an early grave too
I miss my parents

Now wonder WHY they ran away from me
Six foot under they still
Give me a fairytale
Ecology…I did go ta school
I just forgot the correct spelling
NO doubt I gave em a beautiful ceremony
Cost me more than a wedding!!!

Childhood dreams
clouded by years of tears
now those fears are gone
the legacy will live on
my heart is glad
although my mind
still, is sad

alotmarc, the world would be a better place if everyone would remember we are keeping it for our children and grandchildren.....we have the most astonishing times of selfishness, all about short term profit and greed....

AD, if only I'd run away from my wedding....knew in my bones it was not good for me...

en afrique.....

the next couple are about writing.....

commitment

while yours and mine falls to the end
there's been times
when the last line's been
too odd to bend
one might look and try
and after some struggle
shrug and say
why
so this venerable forum
lands on page three or four
till some one comes on
and re-opens the floor
then a flood of posts
from various hosts
and the campfire thread
is raised from the dead
to sharpen our creativity
and provide a bit of levity
we'll never let this fade away
a meeting place for us to play
over four hundred pages of history
and mental mystery

the faucet

writing poems on POF
turned a lifelong trickle
into a stream
years of ideas
gushed out in a rush
and now it feels
like I've run out of steam
but I know it's not so
'cause nothing is dammed
it's just that before
the ideas were jammed
so even if the flow is slow
and my cache is small
I answer to creative call
and writing's all I really ever wanted
the nag of the ambition
that for decades left me haunted
feeling there was something
that I had left undone
but now the sense of failure
has been broken
my ambition and my dreaming mind
have spoken

mercy

we are loved
and meant to be loved true!
so let love show in words
and shine in actions too
have a care in what you say and do
your words live on long after you
turn off your monitor and go to bed
and others read the stuff you said

ahhh brizo..... i've given up on
that four letter word
love
sometimes ya gotta just be happy
with friendships
fun and frolicing
concentrate on right now
see the glass half full
because emptiness
is really an ocean
no glass can hold
i'll go on spinning my life
like a demented spider
hoping the wind will place in my web
all that is necessary

it's good to see you back, both of you...you know we miss you two when you're gone, right?

I was referring more to brotherly love, silver....

though I do have a crush. We'll see where it goes...

evening

the lights are low
night has laid its blanket
on the day
I'm reading in my chair
between the times
I come compose and play
turning over in my mind
the words I want to say
the cat is lying by my feet
trying to be fetching
and borrowing my heat
my favorite cup
waits in the kitchen
while on the stove
the screeching of the kettle
punctuates my pensive reverie
I travel to my keyboard
to render verbal sketching

LS 9/06/08

wow, a whole lot of my's have come out in this poem...I can really see my possessiveness when it comes to my home...

The next two are mean, venting poems never posted anywhere 'till now...

they're a way for me to release my incredulous spleen, my "righteous" anger...because, in retrospect, was it really righteous or just my own viewpoint? All the same, once they're written I usually can let it go...

anger usually hurts the bearer much more than the recipient....

Amen to that sista!

My heart hurts
it feels bruised and raw
from out of nowhere
the strike came
a sudden conversation
and I was there
again
sleeping on the verandah
listening to the rain
and Molly Johnson
I thought I had left it behind
thought that I had moved on
when, in reality
all I had done
was a sideways slide

I am going to wear black
not just for tommorrow
but for a long time
perhaps even forever
I am bereft
and deserve to show my sadness
in whatever way I want
even you cant deny me that

en afrique, thanks for stopping by....I hope the pain you are in eases up some....

writing's good for that...

Quote for the day:

"Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her."

So - if you give her crap, you will receive a bucket full of shit.

well, time for the second mean poem....

he man woman haters

gals really don't like woman haters
that's why some are still masturbators
the negative crap
just widens the gap
they read twenty five posts and say laters

you've labeled us old and witchy
and insinuated we're b!tchy
the blond beauty queens
you see in your dreams
only go with men who are rich, see

and you've alienated the rest
perhaps that is for the best
your snarling dislike
when you step to the mike
does seem to be more than a jest

so continue as one of the boys
and continue to see us as toys
this whinger has spake
to the pompous as*s fake
his sarcastic assessment annoys

Gee, and here I find myself already signed in on this computer...

It's getting uncomfortable jostling my internet time amongst multiple public locales.
Not that it should matter so much. It's not that I expect privacy...between living in a very small town and posting my deepest vulnerabilities on the www, I expect to have to provide papers for my skeletons and check my baggage at my next coffee gulp.

The above was a tangent that totally slipped away. That aspect of revealing myself doesn't scare me. . .

Anyway, Hi, everybody. and Gosh I appreciate your angry poems this morning, Brizo!
Girl you are funny, meantally sharp.

I got no poem this morning. Even my scattered puzzle pieces refuse.

it's a mean limerick, darlin.....yesterday I was jumped on by a leprechaun troll.....though I had written it a week ago at least to get a different insult off my chest, it suited my mood last night to post it.....top o' the mornin' to you both....eh, well I guess 'tis noonish....

Well, I've been reaping the results of revealing myself....I really don't fit here, never did before I moved away for ten years, and when I came back the difference was even more pronounced...perhaps I should put off dating till after the elections....just sitting in the break room at work is enough to "curdle my wame".....can you tell I've read way too many historical novels?

Even now, with the results of trickle down economics slapping us upside the head, Ohio still seems to be staunchly republican.....and I'm losing $2000 a month from my investments.....move them now and lose the chance to rebuild them? Leave them and lose everything? The market is tilting like a wobbling building, and I'm not so sure whether last minute patchwork will stabilize a crumbling foundation....

I have committed an email gaffe and misinterpreted an attempt at humor....

If you're reading this, I'm sorry...humility is essential...the perfect spice to make humble pie more edible...
**************************************
this seems fitting.....

needle's eye

for goodness sake
air out your heart
let go of petty grudges
apologize for guilts
and any tender hurt
that's hardened to a knot
this round of life
is precious, laugh a lot
when you're returned to dirt
the story of the life you've built
is played before the judges
every weighted part
to follow in your wake

I tried to rhyme backwards from the middle....

Jer, I changed it to better reflect my views, the former was a bit misleading...like this one better?

our sky is a magical screen of light
set by a whimsical hand
spilled diamonds glowing upon velvet
anchoring our sleep

in thanks

part of the universe
god's luminous verse
in celestial language
the dazzling brilliance
which we live under
a mind so profound
we have stood
in sheer wonder
and gratitude
at the magnitude
of our earthly
interlude

I see WaMu went down...this whole thing is making me furious...

lipstick on a pig (deregulate this)

when pigs can fly
then you can pass
that bill you're stuffing
up our as*s
we bail you out
to hell with us
we're quickly thrown
under the bus
no prosecution
for your fraud
no institution
as watchdog
just write the check
and hand it over?
you're kidding, right?
roll over, rover....
my grandkids won't
be destitute
because you juggled
mortgage loot
go get your loan
from lobbyists
who hold your money
in their fist
no regulation?
it all was good
until you lent
more than you could
how's this for you?
a payday loan
at interest rates
to make you moan
Your CEO's
should go to jail
for making our
stock market fail
and dems won't pass
your padded bill
'cause it's a bitter
tasting pill

from all over this land

defense contractors, lobbyists
big business and phonies
