| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 8/22/2008 12:01:27 PM | | I am with you girl ! I do not prefer shorter men because I am 5'10 myself. I have had some that say they are 6'0 and when I met one he was about 5'8 and draggin one leg three feet behind him. Said he had a slight limp from a bullriding accident. Then when I stood up he said his Dr. must have lied to him about how tall he was. I got through that dinner as quick as possible and during the meal proceeded to tell me he was on 22 medications. He needed a live in nurse not a girlfriend!! | |

Hey... whatchit...
So Sock... at 6'-1"... you've got plenty of girls over, say... 5'-7/8" to pick from... right? We shorter guys shouldn't have to compete with the tall guys for the shorter women, should we?
^^^ Good example | |

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 8/22/2008 2:26:07 PM | ^ Pete
The Now Sole Owner of My Former House, (my ex), was also 6”1’. When she put on heels and puffed up her Big Hair, I felt like Yoda. (She talked a lot too and she bent my ears like his). So I suppose if a man is dating a woman substantially taller than he is, sooner or later he might feel like Mini-Me or a Keebler Elf. I myself can’t depend on it, but if he had a towering intellect, that would help greatly. Or if he had something else that towered above the norm… (Nope, I can’t depend on that either…)
If you are asking The Minister of All Things Manly to consider issuing a Man Law that shorter guys shouldn't have to compete with the tall guys for the shorter women, I’ll take it under advisement and let you know my decision soon.
(But if I say yes, all of the spinners will still be up for grabs… Deal???)

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 8/22/2008 3:38:23 PM | | ^ That reminds me... It's almost the last Saturday of the month. Pete, get a hold of a spinner, grab your Genuine Corinthian Leather, and let's head down the The Dungeon this weekend for a little pain and suffering. But we will leave before that midget male stripper revue--the Thunder From Way Way Down Under--performs at midnite. (Then we can go back at closing time to see how we "measure up" to those guys in the eyes of the ladies. Should be like shooting fish in a barrel...) | |

I don't know about that... those midgets seem to walk funny... there may be a big reason... (Pssst... I've tried shooting fish in a barrel, it ain't that easy. )
But yeah, I think it's about time to gas up the ole Cordoba http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVELhUyLZGk&NR=1 with the after-market spinners, planting my butt in some soft Corinthian Leather and heading to the dungeon. I hear there might be a spinner or two there... and more arriving after midnight. You never know with them dungeons... WE might end up being the spinners.

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 9/19/2008 4:00:31 PM | | I am responding to the subject, Is Height an issue to men? I don't know where you have been all my life, because finding a tall man when your tall yourself is very hard. Most men that tall want this short, cute little thing. I haven't got to read your profile yet as the server is always down. But, if you are at least 60 years old I would enjoy hearing from you. | |

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 10/3/2008 9:38:49 AM | | BIG PROBLEM- Im 6'1" actually almost 6'2". I was dating a girl for over a year who IS A GEM of a woman. Absolutly keeper status. A very very rare find. I adored her smile, her good nature all of it except one HUGE thing. She was too tall. 5'9" what a huge bummer. I tried every possible thing I could to get past it. I beat myself up over it so bad. I thought myself shallow and just hated the fact that she was just too tall. When we had sex it was just to much there, was masculine somehow? I hate to even admit it, but I couldnt even get off with her and all my friends think she is so hot. And for that type she is. But it just seems masculine to me when they are over 5'7". Belive me, it picked me, I didnt pick it. But it is what it is and I will not date a woman over 5'7" again... | |

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 10/3/2008 10:46:01 AM | I know at 6'4" I should be tall enough for most women, and most women say under 5'4" might find it hard to date a guy this tall. My dad was 6'8" and my mom 5'4". I'm not sure what it is with guys but we just like the small, shorter, petite woman for some reason. As protectors and having a dominant, masculine trait may be part of it. I don't know. It seems that shorter guy more so than taller guys go for taller women, I don't know what that is about? I'm not short, so I guess I don't know. And I am only making that statement based on guys I know, I don't like putting people in boxes... we are all different.
And this isn't to say that someone won't meet another person that is taller, shorter, blonde, brunette, older, younger what ever... and not realize that this could work, and click for them. We all have preferences... but all should keep our eyes open and be more flexible and open minded.
Sure we all like to pick a book with a great cover, but then we start reading and sometimes, very often, find there is no substance. And sometimes we walk by that rickety old boring cover not realizing we may have passed by a gem. It's a hard thing this dating stuff.
Oh, I want to say hello to some of you, it's been awhile.

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 10/3/2008 2:54:26 PM | I'm 5'2 and 3/4. I'll hit 5'3" when I'm fully grown .
I've never thought of myself as short, and never felt short around tall people. I have tended to date/marry/cohabitate with people that top out at around 5'9, though. No foresight or planning. I have no preference either way. I did however, have a brief lunch date yesterday (thanks POF!) with a man who is 6'0 tall. It was very different for me, and I must confess my mind went into the gutter (or bedroom) wondering about how the configurations would differ.

Sweetie, a few miles never kept my mouth from going where it's needed...

Sure it isn't one of the girls rubbing two sticks together?

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 10/3/2008 3:41:25 PM | I'm 5'2 and 3/4. I'll hit 5'3" when I'm fully grown according to the responses here, I guess that makes us "safe" to date..? lol I'm your height and more than fully grown (groan....), by the time I'm 60 in a couple of years, I'll be 2' 5 3/4"...........oy
...but, I'm no (drum roll please) shrinking violet.

| Is Height an issue to Men? Posted: 10/3/2008 5:53:05 PM | Hmmm, guess I know why someone is PeteredOut.
so you think a rickety old cover applies to women? Was saying you can't judge a book by it's cover, being tall, or short, bald?, small, big? what ever... it's, what's on the inside.
Just was saying that it seems most of us, we may not all admit it... but we seem to pick and choose who we contact or ask out, based more on looks, rather than substance. Substance is hard to figure out on here... the internet.
We all have likes and dislikes, things that float our boat... getting back to the question of height.... what this thread is about. I think shorter women have an unfair advantage over taller women, where taller guys sorta have the same unfair advantage over shorter guys. It just seems to work out that way.
But in reality, it's all on an individual bases... Short or Tall.
I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with being a rickety old cover with a lot of substance..... Heck... probably talking about myself, depending on what kind of substance you're looking for.

t was very different for me, and I must confess my mind went into the gutter (or bedroom) wondering about how the configurations would differ. If you should ever find out, don't worry, just enjoy the climb....it can work. On the flip side, a less tall guy can be more compact.
