| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 8/13/2007 11:35:29 PM | But to the topic... exactly how curvy is too curvy?
I'm not looking for a one night stand and I'm sure no other woman on here is, but that's exactly what some guys who meet women want. I don't have F**K ME tatooed to my forehead and neither does anyone else. Some guys see a curvy woman and think oh shes desperate... I'll take pity on her. Where is the rightness in that?
Im hoping there are other women out there who hear what I am trying to say.
Be yourself, love yourself, know yourself. Be confident, be strong, be alive. Don't wait for it to come, go out and get it.
just my two cents

Posted: 8/14/2007 12:14:34 AM | I agree with Just Dev...men will say curvy just to try and get you in their pants but the really want the prettier, perfect ones and again, not necessarily the thin ones, definitely on the thinner side. Just my experience.....
And yes, what is curvy, how curvy, where should the curves be...what is acceptable to most. I am trying to slim down through weight watchers as I just quit smoking and was already a bit buxom, so I have gained a few more pounds. Now, I am trying to do something about it but I know I will never be my 20 year old weight of 125 lbs....just not reallistic. I want to get to a spot that is comfortable for me but not to the extreme. Thanks for reading my little rant.

Posted: 8/14/2007 11:38:15 PM | 'm sure there are too many "users" around however, it seems to me that far too many women don't want to accept that there are some, never-mind lots (I think most), of guys who get turned-on by heavier-than-model-thin gals. It amounts to mass self-sabotage: Men are discouraged to even broach the subject with women. Inevitably, when men find women truly attractive, there are "urges".
As (“they” have) noted, people, who believe they are unworthy, will sabotage potential opportunities. I'm familiar with the "I wouldn't want to be part of any club that would have me as a member" feelings. It amazes me to see that some classically unattractive people can routinely gather several attractive suitors, apparently because they appear very comfortable with themselves. I have likewise, found myself sexually attracted (even sober!) to some women I would consider not very attractive. (But, hey, I'm a guy, and well..... ).
My attempts to encourage them otherwise have too-often been stymied by some women, who were absolutely convinced - erroneously, that they were unattractive. It must be my fault .
There are admittedly, reasons to strive for a healthy weight. In general however, the vilification of so many things, and people, encouraged by the pervasive use of fear-inducing marketing techniques, have resulted in a society with some pretty disturbed ideals and perceptions. It's almost impossible to not be influenced, even somewhat disenfranchised, by such a pervasive force in our culture.
IMHO many shy people are interested ways to remedy this situation. ... I didn't mean to be so verbose! (I'd surely gain weight if I were forced to eat all those words!)

I like a woman with meat on her bones. They eat what they like instead of suffering through all those salads....besides that....I make a killer cheesecake.
...come to mama!!!
the perfect cheesecake-making man...sigh....a little cushion...makes the ride softer...oops, wrong thread...

I am 5'2 and 170 pounds and I am pretty happy with how I look. I don't look fat or anything, I'm a bit chubby. I love my curves! I love my boobs :) I feel more feminine and I can't imagine being without them.
I would hate to be flat and see a guy trying to enjoy them :(
From my experience, men seem to like curves :)

Posted: 9/5/2007 10:52:12 PM | | I've always been about 20 - 30 lbs over what the charts say I should be for my height but never had any complaints, even when I was much heavier than that. Guys have always told me that love-making is much nicer & more comfy with me than with skinnier girls because there are no hip bones or other bones digging into them ... it's all flesh to flesh baby! I personally find that snuggling with skinny guys just feels kinda hard & empty without some padding. I like a guy who takes an interest in keeping somewhat fit even if he has a couple of love handles. Nobody's perfect. And save some of that killer cheesecake for me dude!

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 9/25/2007 11:57:25 AM | I am getting a bit confused can't curvy women be skinny too? Five years ago I was 135lbs 5'7, and had curves. I am large chested and was told I had "child barring hips" (Not really a compliment when your in your teens). I look back now a pictures and for my curves I looked anorexic, real curves are not fat they are the way your body flows. I have also have friends that are overweight and have no curves. I just thought I would put it out there, I think there is more stereo typing going on here than anything else.
Oh yeah I am still curvy but now I do have a few extra so you don't need to remind me.

But really.....it depends on which kind of mind is attached to the slim curvy figure, I guess ( I am a woman, what else could I say?)...I am a slim type and usually well-liked, perhaps because of my personality/values/zest for life?

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 9/28/2007 1:59:28 AM | Yeah just look at the way you did huh?! And Curvy does not mean fat! Curvy means a woman with nice size breasts, a slender waist and nice size hips. Pencil Thin is a woman with Mosquito bites for breasts and a waist and hips (or lack thereof) much like an adolescent boy. Curvy and Pencil thin are different then Slender and Fat. Pencil thin means not quite enough meat and shape to be slender but too slender to be Curvacious! Men like women with the curves because they are more appealing fertility wise. It is just a part of nature, men love women with hips they can grab onto (whatever the activity) and which can also bear children with. I am not saying that Pencil thin/Slender/Fat/Obese women cant bear children and dont get married, but men will still drool over the curvacious women no matter how slender you may be. | |

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 9/28/2007 5:00:04 PM | | You know what? Most thin (or slim) women think they are fat or at least could do with losing a few pounds. I think I am and everyone tells me I am crazy!! So how do I even know if I am curvy or pencil-thin? Can anyone enlighten me? Most men I know say they prefer curvy but I would like a few opinions on whether I am deemd to be curvy or not. My photographs have not been altered or airbrushed. I reckon curvy. Replies appreciated. | |

They are all still married, and most of the women are now bigger. The thin women I know seem to have fared no better - and perhaps, worse - in this department.

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 9/29/2007 12:12:31 AM | | Maybe I missed this in all the messages but how bout reversing the situation. Do women prefer curvy guys to pencil thin ones. Cause I think a guy is more likely to go out with a girl who is overweight as compared to a women going out with an overweight guy. The proof of this is simple, go to a mall, a sport event or anywhere where you will see a large group of people and you will see more guys with out of shape women then the opposite. My largest group of friends is women and I've seen and heard it through them directly. I've have seen friends of mine turn down the average joe with a good personality and go out with the guy with the six pack and hollow head. Not to say that it is not possible to be attracted to the average guy but on a first time glance it doesn't happen much. My ex's have ranged from pencil thin to curvy so in my opinion there are two types of guys, those with the fixed attraction, blond and thin or you have the guy who is open minded and curious as to where the posibilities could lead no matter what the size. So before judging that guys would choose thin over curvy maybe women should ask themselves how many guys they 've turned away just because they have a little weight instead of a six pack. | |

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 9/29/2007 10:52:34 AM | I have waged this war in my own head for years and finally decided that I am who I am and whether I am thinner or heavier it's who I am. Just like blonde, brunette or redhead or grey, we all have our personal taste and the image of our "one" in our mind. I personally like a man who is over 6' and 250+...just what I like. Maybe it's that being protected feeling. So yes I would "pass over" that 6 pack for a guy who has more of a keg The men in my life have never complained, perhaps because they got to know the woman first. HK - you just haven't found the right guy yet, they are out there | |
