| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 3/8/2008 6:04:59 AM | I like a guy with a little extra meat on his bone ... umm ... I mean bones. (Freudian typo) And I'm thrilled to see that most of the men here like a woman with some meat on her bones ... so thrilled that tomorrow I'm going to indulge in the biggest, baddest chocolate bar & not feel the slightest pang of guilt. | |

Posted: 3/8/2008 9:47:08 AM | well Canadian redhead.........personally i prefer petite, curvy women, which usually translates in too leaning towards thinner of body mass, but a gal that has all the right curves in the right places is a great plus(not too much on top and not too much on bottum)just my personal preferance...thats all..as the outer apperance is only superficial anyways what really matters the most is how she takes care of her fitness, dietary habits, and how she feels about herself ,when a woman looks into a mirror and likes what she see's then everyone around her will benifit also.just my observation......lets

***sigh*** Why do people insist on posting these "All or Nothing" threads ("All Men Are Liars/Players?yadda yadda" "Why Don't Men Want To Commit?" "Why Do All Women Want Bad Boys" etc etc....) It's crap like this that really cheapens the forums. If you MUST start a thread like this, at least have the courtesy (and maturity!!) to NOT lump EVERYONE from any group or gender into one monolithic entity. The fact is, there are almost as many different people as there are...people!! To say that ALL men are such-and-such is like saying "All black people are good at shining shoes" or "All Indians Are Lazy." In that vein, a better title for this thread would have been "How MANY men actually prefer curvy women over the skinny pencil ones?" As it stands, the only suitable reply to the original thread title would have to be ... "Yes! And NO!!"

MAYBE, she was hurt and it IS a legitimate question that she is just afraid to ask anywhere else. I know I've often wondered the same thing.

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 3/10/2008 7:26:11 PM | Cheemo: Grog has a point, even-though he may appear to be over-reacting. I think it behoves readers to give posters the benefit of the doubt when interpreting their posts. It is difficult for many of us to accurately and concisely communicate our views without inadvertently offending someone, or triggering some sensitive, perhaps prejudiced, reaction.
The point, in my view, is that while questions or statements may be apear to be simplified by the use of black-and-white or all-or-nothing wording the issue might be, instead, distorted by the exclusion of alternative options possibilities. This usually narrows the discussion. The oft-used example illustrating the problem is recounted as an innocent man being asked "..and tell me sir: Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" Which of are the possible answers, yes or no; will illustrate the truth when the discussion has been so absurdly limited and distorted by the wording of the question.

Ahem...You DID notice the 'laughing' icon at the end of the post, didn't you? (Judging by your 'measured response, " I'm guessing: No! Talk about "angry little fingers"!!!) By the way, if your first sentence is any indication, one could easily infer that you seem to be of the opinion that ALL men treat women like crap. Maybe you should be more careful of the kind of men you associate with. WAY too much anger there.

For the ladies - I think we need to ask ourselves how to we prefer to look. Come on everyone and get reel.

Victoria Beckham is fantastic, and too good for David.
She kept her figure, wears the most uncomfortable shoes and underwire bras, and is always polite and smiling.
All this after giving birth to three boys and putting up with hubbies philandering.

smiling.
SMILING???? the woman CAN smile? I have never seen one. I thought her face was bondo'd on.
I know nothing of her personal life with Mr Beckham so can't comment there...... they both look perfect, but then again that may be only an outward image. Who knows? Only they do.

ML: If others say you are fat or skinny tell 'em to get lost. Didn't someone write it is all about the person you are???? Wondering if you'd still feel the same way after exposure to my not-so-firm 'baby belly' .....

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 4/6/2008 10:33:41 AM | This thread is pretty entertaining and interesting though. I only would have an issue if weight would affect health... in both directions, too less and too much. So curvy sounds great, like being the balance between both extremes. To me women are most attractive who are confident in their skin, who are happy and who live life with no (at least not many) regrets because of that. | |

Posted: 4/6/2008 7:43:38 PM | for the love of all that is holy and true. 1 human beings are animals. true. 2as any animal we are driven to chose a mate according to genetic cues and pheromones. true. 3 the standard is somewhere around a 70% variance between waist and hips. so yes men on the whole perfer curvy women over skinny stick women. and they perfer both over the completly out of shape. there are variances to the rule but you cant fool nature. i think it would be alot better if the site set what you were according to entered physical data. some people on here have no ideal what athletic means. and since obesity is increasing all across north america average is getting a little scary.

| do men actually like curvy women vs the skinny pencil one? Posted: 4/14/2008 10:27:47 PM | | I guess you can put me down for the slim ones if I have to choose.....it depends on whether you are in it for the long term or not....? - take a look around you....do you see any old fat people? The advice to just 'be happy with the body size you are' is very ill-advised if it happens that the 'body size you are', is overweight. The advice is usually given by overweight people. Most of us at some point in our lives have weighed more than we should have, and some of us just stop eating the foods that put the pounds on and get some exercise. Not always easy, but it is that simple. You don't see old 'curvy' women....or old 'curvy' men for a good reason.... - being overweight in any amount is unhealthy, and accordingly eventually takes the years off your life expectancy through diseases related to sloth and eating poorly.... | |
