I think athletic is best, partly 'cause I workout, but also 'cause it is the healthiest and that is sexy, BUT, a little overweight is fine 'cause it usually adds to the bust and I like that but more important..most women are like that= more choice.
#1 though, and I'm amazed noone mentioned this,
Ladies: you can't be too heavy if you wanna be on top!!!!

Posted: 7/17/2008 11:29:00 AM | | be alot easier to get a clear view of the preference with BMI scores. though personally i'm all for the dancer/model bodies, or sleder as some have called, or bag of bones as others have, or pencil as originally stated. i try to keep my body fat under 10% by going to the gym regularly, and it's for 90% looks 10% health. guess i'd prefer somebody with similar values in appearance. sucks too cause i swear 80% of the people on this site in BC are either obese, overweight, or clearly have been heading in that direction. | |

Posted: 7/17/2008 5:08:19 PM | Most people would probably consider myself to be obese. i don't agree. i think society sucks. all because people are skinny doesn't mean they are healthy. i used to work with a tall thin guy, every day he at at least 3 danishes. he is skinny, does that mean next me, the fat girl, i am still unhealthy? after working with a naturopath for the last year, i still have a higher BMI, but my test scores for how my body and cells are function are amazing. My own doctor who is 5'9" maybe 140 pounds says that my score are just as good as his are.
I started with him becuase my doctors would not help me. that is our medical systems for you. After going on antidepressants i went from 5'6" and 218 lbs to 298lbs. i was a prisioner in my own body. i am now at 245, better, but not where i was before, but i am healthier then i was before.
Society should stop being so judgemental. Skinny people are "pigs" too. | |

Posted: 7/17/2008 8:19:10 PM | Funny, I thought pigs were referenced because of their proportions, not their propensity to eat too much... My mistake. As a skinny guy who eats a goodly amount at times, I resent being called "a pig" based on my eating habits. I don't see why I should mitigate my consumption if I suffer no ill effects (and no, I'm not pounding down donuts 24-7). To generalize about a given weight and about people who fall into it, is to do exactly what irritates you so much about some people at the opposing end. Not cool.
Personally, I prefer somewhere in the middle but I've never turned down a date because someone was too skinny or too fat. Not saying I never would, skin over bones is none too sexy, but then neither is carrying enough spare weight to constitute a whole additional person. That said, I have yet to be propositioned by (or proposition) someone that far in either direction, so it's a moot issue for me. | |

or a 16 yr old for that matter.

To a degree I feel confident in my abilities, my skills and who I am both intellectually and emotionally. In rare moments, I might feel a slight sense of hesitation in my ‘curve' appeal. There might be odd ’moments’ of insecurity I credit the media with in claiming to have designs of the ideal perfect woman but tend to shrug it off convincing myself it is all superficial. Also, there are times I might question my ‘curve' appeal when meeting someone for the first time but soon wears off. In a very innocent way,  I do enjoy reading the comments that are made in favor of us 'curvy' women. It’s nice to see some men are rather ‘sensual’ with their expression of that ‘curve' appeal.

Who really knows what men want, never been able to unlock that secret? Whoever has the answer would become a millionaire..

Curvy and well proportioned are one thing, overweight is another.
There is considerable truth in what you say. I remember well my first date arranged through online dating. She described herself as curvy. Her single photo gave little clue.
Being the novice that I was I was still curious and asked exactly what she meant by curvy. I had visions perhaps some one with a figure somewhat like Queen Latifah (only example that comes to mind), big all around, lots of curves.
She said her figure was "Rubenesque"
I asked what that meant.
She said the type of woman featured in the paintings by Rubens.
So I fired up Google and Wikipedia helped me.

I also would like to suggest that most if not all women would suggest they need to lose weight and that would include me. I am a bear, I go up in weight over the winter and go down by summer. Show me a man that does not do that and I will eat my shoes for dinner 
Its rather tiring to read thread after thread about Women and their sizes. Give it up fella's. Most if not all of you out there have personal areas in your life you need work on just as we women do. Maybe , just maybe, instead of being critical be supportive. The wonderful effects that it has one's mind and body are fabulous.
When your young, feel free to be stupid, feel free to be critical, but just remember it always comes back to bite you when you get older. I know, I have cared for seniors in my past and let me tell ya...its not pretty for either of the sexes after a certain age. At this point you have to be happy that anyone would even be remotely interested in your body...its all about the brain at that point so I would suggest you start to sharpen the brain now while you can before its too late....
