i met a girl online once who said she was curvy. when i met her she was quite overweight. Man, was that date a nightmare!
Curvy and well proportioned are one thing, overweight is another.

Curvy and well proportioned are one thing, overweight is another.
There is considerable truth in what you say. I remember well my first date arranged through online dating. She described herself as curvy. Her single photo gave little clue.
Being the novice that I was I was still curious and asked exactly what she meant by curvy. I had visions perhaps some one with a figure somewhat like Queen Latifah (only example that comes to mind), big all around, lots of curves.
She said her figure was "Rubenesque"
I asked what that meant.
She said the type of woman featured in the paintings by Rubens.
So I fired up Google and Wikipedia helped me.

I also would like to suggest that most if not all women would suggest they need to lose weight and that would include me. I am a bear, I go up in weight over the winter and go down by summer. Show me a man that does not do that and I will eat my shoes for dinner  
Its rather tiring to read thread after thread about Women and their sizes. Give it up fella's. Most if not all of you out there have personal areas in your life you need work on just as we women do. Maybe , just maybe, instead of being critical be supportive. The wonderful effects that it has one's mind and body are fabulous.
When your young, feel free to be stupid, feel free to be critical, but just remember it always comes back to bite you when you get older. I know, I have cared for seniors in my past and let me tell ya...its not pretty for either of the sexes after a certain age. At this point you have to be happy that anyone would even be remotely interested in your body...its all about the brain at that point so I would suggest you start to sharpen the brain now while you can before its too late....

Its rather tiring to read thread after thread about Women and their sizes. Give it up fella's. Only one problem, these types of threads are generally started by women...looking for validation about their own size. You can't blame the men because they answer.
I have to ask if this thread has served it's purpose...does the OP feel better? Now that fat, thin, skinny, etc. women (and a number of men) have been insulted, does the OP feel more validated? | |

Some where along the line someone attempted to make someone feel bad about their body size. As women we tend to be slightly more emotional than men are when it comes to our bodies and the feedback we may perceive as negative.
Some of my statement was indeed directed at the fella's...not necessarily those that post but also to those that read.
I also was general in my last statement about working on our brains, since all our bodies will fail us in the desirable category sooner than we may want.
But then again...lol...
its very possible that aging brains, accept aging bodies as still being sexy ...

I think it's a well-known fact that we women are harder on ourselves than any man could ever be and for some reason I think it bothers some women more to have another woman bash them than a man. I think we have really done this to ourselves.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of jerks out there who are willing and ready to point out someone's flaws, but I really believe that this type of thing is done more by and to women. | |

Rhett....once again I agree with your statement. As a gender we really should be kinder to ourselves. I personally love that I am a woman with all my unique ISSUES as I call them. My favorite saying, especially when things seem to be going way off the beaten path for me is "I am Woman, hear me Whine"

A lot of ancient cultures placed full figured women on a pedestal . Quite often Mother Nature ( the Earth Goddess , or Gaia ...etc... ) is represented as a very curvy woman. That kind of reverance has not been completely supressed by Hollywood or the modern fashion industry.
Some men ( key word : some ) like skinny women . There are , however , some of us guys who find curves very enticing and a good woman is a good woman regardeless of dress size. | |

I have been rejected by 100% of all the fit athletically built women that I have approached in my gym in the past 4 years because I'm not "cute" enough? I am the real deal and that seems to scare them , they prefer the" wannabes "with the prettyboy look , And by the way ladies shopping at lu lu freaken lemon and fake baken yourself to into a raisin does not make you an athlete........hahaha a sub 40 grind time though and your well on your way. | |
