| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 4/24/2007 4:34:47 AM | There's another bit of advice from Mark Twain that always struck me as very wise:
"The advantage of honesty is that you never have to remember anything."
Seem self-evident, when you think about it......
By the way... Is it still Xmas? I missed the memo on that one.

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 5/2/2007 5:58:59 PM | Always walk a mile in another man's shoes...that way if you've pi$$ed him off, he is a mile away and doesn't have any shoes. | |

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 5/2/2007 6:30:30 PM | I like that one about the advantage of honesty, it works for me, I have a very poor memory.
I also like the one about walking a mile and leaving the man without his shoes! That one I can get my head around.
But my all time favorite is one I just read, and I hope I can remember it long enough to actually use it. Here it is, "Just shut the He** up untill you're calm enough to realize that anything you say can, and will, be used against you!"

- When People tell you who they are - Believe them!
"When they're talkin about me, they're leaving someone else alone."
"No company is better than bad company."
and my all time fav:
Never, Never, Never fry your bacon in the nude. ;)

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 6/16/2007 3:37:52 PM | One from mom, one from dad:
Dad: If you can make money for someone else, you can make it for yourself.
Mom: Every relationship she was in [I don't want TMI here, this is my MOM] prepared her for her life with my father. At 39 years, it must have worked. I remember that in the context of failed relationships (thus, POF.....)

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 6/17/2007 4:22:51 AM | It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Didn't learn that until I was all grown up - and for sure never taught that to my kids lol.
Never play with skunks, rats or weasels. Now that I seemed to just have learned through osmosis - can't remember anyone actually saying that to me.

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 6/17/2007 1:38:01 PM | 1. listen to your gut 2. if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck--its a duck 3. don't ever quit 4. don't judge a book by its cover 5. its okay to eat something if it fell on the floor and you pick it up within 10 secs (10 second rule..lol) 6. let children be children--don't hover over them 7. when the baby sleeps, you sleep 8. don't overanalyze everything and if you do, then that's a bad sign 9. if someone doesn't love and appreciate how great you are, then they are the ones losing out 10. its okay to wear white after labor day 11. always wash makeup off your face before bed 12. don't eat after 9pm 13. don't mix patterns together...lol 14. don't show everything all at once...if u show off your legs, cover up everything else...if you show cleavage, cover everything else.....if you show your whole back, cover up everything else (this is the BEST beauty advice taught to me)--------MORE women need to remember this... 15. PJ bottoms are meant to wear to bed, not out in public 16. just because someone is beautiful it doesn't mean that they're also beautiful on the inside too (works for ugly people too)--dig a little deeper 17. follow your heart 18. if it feels right, DO it 19. a true friend will be at your bday and help you when you are moving 20. don't ever let anyone tell you, you can't do something or be someone--tell them to kiss your a$$ | |

Never, Never, Never fry your bacon in the nude. It might sound odd (it does sound odd), but a British writer named Michael Moorc0ck advises people to always fry bacon in the nude. His reasoning: bacon cooks better on a low heat, and standing there in the nude gives you a great incentive to keep the heat low.....

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 6/18/2007 9:38:39 AM | "Be careful what you wish for......."
whatever else is added to that is superfluous....the advice is in the first 6 words.

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 6/22/2007 9:51:29 PM | Although I'm not normally inclined to take contestants on reality shows seriously, one player on the last Survivor said something that I thought was pretty cool:
"Love many. Trust few. Harm none."
That sounds almost profound..... and sure sounds like good advice.

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 6/26/2007 11:52:49 AM | Not necessarily the single most important, or best, but the one that immediately comes to mind. “Never assume other people think like you – understand that you will fined it easer to change the way you think, than to try to bring someone around to your way of thinking” – Nevertheless never under estimate the importance of SPIN. | |

Thanks for sharing with us all, it's sure to be helpful to someone reading it to know that they aren't the only one who ever had those feelings, maybe it'll help them as your stranger helped you. Bless you.

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 9/28/2008 6:36:27 PM | | The best piece of advice I ever got was to forget about what to say or how to say it, but to learn how to listen instead. | |

| What's the best advice you ever got? Posted: 10/3/2008 9:19:00 PM | Best advice hmm, thats hard as there has always been some good ones thrown my way.
From Dad: "If you can be friends with the person you date, that will go a longer way then "loveing" someone, because eventually in life the love fades, but the ever lasting friendship is what makes a marriage work"
From Mom: "Treat your Girlfriend with love and respect, go out of your way to do whatever you can to make them feel like there the most speacial person in the world"
From my best buddy:" Sometimes a fresh start is better than continued hardship"
From my best Female friend:" You cant always be there, but when your there make it the best"
From a Truck Driver: "If someone loves you and cares for you while your gone, and is no happier than the day you come home youve found someone special"
From Lil Sis: "Live, Love, Laugh because in the end thats all you have"
From My gay friends: "you gotta try it"
To Myself: "Shit Happens, tommorows another day and it will be all good!"
