| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/17/2007 8:24:37 PM | yes!! we win and the yankees lose!!!!
We're hanging on to .700!! And theyr'e not eve up to .500 yet!
In fact the AL east there is a larger gap between 1st and 2nd than any 2 teams in the whole majors!
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/20/2007 6:32:30 PM | | Hangin' right up there at .698 . The only team even close is the Mets, who are doing tons better than the yanks this season, at 667. I'll be honest and say the Mets are doing rather well so far. The yanks are now 11 games behind, and we'll see how things are after they've finished playing the Mets tonite. We have a major-league-leading 30 wins now!! And May isnt even over yet! I KNOW we can get 60 more by end of September! | |

| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/21/2007 12:25:19 AM | It was awesome to see the Sox take two out of three from the Atlanta Braves but now they need to really get into a higher gear because in the next two weeks (May 21-June 3) they have an opportuntity to gain higher ground when they play the Yankees at Yankee Stadium May 21-23(providing there's no rainouts ) and the Sox get to play them again June 1-3 at Fenway Park. And,they play a tough Indians team in the middle of this tough stretch.....
On June 15-17, the Red Sox host the San Francisco Giants and have a strong possibility of Fenway Park being the site where Barry Bonds breaks the all-time major league homerun record.....
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/21/2007 3:26:13 PM | | I have to say as a Yankees fan that the Red Sox are going great guns at the moment,at this rate they will be out of sight in weeks. | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/21/2007 9:01:18 PM | | well the yankees won today, but thats just ONE game folks. Keep smiling!! | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/25/2007 11:36:18 PM | Today we win (vs Texas) and the Yankees lose!!
I went to todays game. It was adventuresome. And I got to see Dice K pitch!!
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/26/2007 9:40:00 PM | Dice-K finally seems to have found his groove! Awesome! And how awesome is Beckett!?! I love watching these two pitch! | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/26/2007 11:35:18 PM | | This is the first time in years i've seen the sox with a deep bullpen and we still have Lester to come up and join the rotation and put tavares in the pen. Hitting is alive and the D is amazing. | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/27/2007 7:56:48 AM | They have an amazing team this year...so, so proud to be a Red Sox fan...pitching is excellent, we have our boys who can get on base and steal one or two. We have the big guns to drive them home!
I hear there's a flu bug going through the team, so I hope it doesn't wear them down too much!
Lilac: you are one lucky girl!!! Glad you had a great time at the game!
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/27/2007 4:10:41 PM | SWEEP!!
We did it!! Once again we gave up the lead and got behind, but we came through in the end!! And to top it off, the yankees lost!! LIFE IS GOOD!
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/27/2007 11:10:35 PM | | Yankees are 12.5 games behind i love seeing that and saying that | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/29/2007 12:10:35 PM | watch out everybody.....Youkilis is on fire!.....
.....20 games over .500.....Good Lord, this team is on pace for over 110 wins
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/29/2007 2:28:23 PM | | I can't believe that we're winning with two of our top 3 free agent signings being complete busts (Lugo, Drew). Even with our winning ways this season it shocks me how they have survived while playing horrible...Okajima turns out to be our best FA signing at the moment.. | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/30/2007 7:33:16 AM | YANKS WILL COME BACK AS USUAL..SOX ARE JUST BLOWING THERE WAD.. | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/30/2007 10:52:16 PM | | look out everyone the skankes are threatning to mov eup from 2nd last to 3rd, ya like they are coming back from this they are done. | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 5/31/2007 6:12:05 AM | "Yankees are 12.5 games behind i love seeing that and saying that"
13.5 now. Nice, isnt it?
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/7/2007 4:49:54 AM | Man, I can't handle these west coast games! (Something tells me the Sox haven't handled the time shift very well) BUT they still have a nice lead, so we can afford a loss (or 3...) | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/7/2007 8:52:41 AM | even in central time zone, I can't watch those games, they're too late.
Most places close at 11 during the week here.
Kinda like that Rangers-Sox game I went to and got POURED on, with a 2 hour rain delay. Dice K was pitching that night.
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/8/2007 12:14:44 AM | Bummer that the Sox only took one out of four from Oakland Well at least that one win was memorable because of Curt Schilling's one-hitter.Could have been a perfect game
Now it's back to interleague action against the Diamondbacks in Arizona, then they go back to Fenway to host the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. Then they wrap up regular-season interleague games on the road against the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres.
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/15/2007 2:23:54 PM | | UGH!! Are the BoSox on a deep skid? ManRam and Ortiz need to dust their bats off a bit. We're getting no run production (especially while in Colorado) and the fielding has been poor. I'm not overly worried. We still have a good lead and it isn't even All-Star break yet. But still, I know the Yanks always make a post All-Star run. Yeah I'm paranoid and probably have high blood pressure lol. | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/15/2007 2:34:21 PM | I'm not at the paranoid stage yet, but it just seems like the big lead they had gave them too much of a cushion, too big of a comfort zone...I'm not sure if I would say that they starting slacking off a bit, but it seems like they have been not putting as much effort into it...
And the Yankee snake pit has awoken and are ready to strike for the lead! Our Sox had better pull up their Sox...soon!
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/17/2007 8:59:47 AM | | Being a Boston native, I am a die hard Red Sox fan. They will win it all this year. Josh Beckett is doing great! Dice K is doing pretty good. They lack pitching quality with Schilling and wakefield but maybe they can make a trade before the all star break to bring in another top of line starter. They have the bats thats for sure | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/17/2007 9:13:30 AM | | the red sox will be fine, with schilling, beckett, and dice-k pitching like this they will be MORE than fine | |
| Red Sox 2007 Posted: 6/17/2007 10:12:11 AM | Yankee fan here (not in peace)
These past two weeks have been a revelation. Incredible how the Yankees can haul themselves out of the cellar and come within striking distance of the wild card (and not a hopeless position in the division) so quickly in the season. Granted, the Red Sox still are favored to win the division, but we are not conceding anything at this point. If we pull within 6.5 games back before the All-Star break, you guys are in trouble.
I will admit I didn't think it was going to happen by the end of last month. Toward the end of May, I had become disgusted with the season. Following the race for the AL East was becoming bad for my health. But, now, it looks like this division is very much up for grabs and no one is entitled to it.
