Could it be to see your name on the screen(kind of like hearing your own voice)? That is exactly why I do this!
Its not like I ever do anything else with my life.
And..... this way I can feel IMPORTANT!
every now and then I give an opinion, but the being a goof pretty much takes over. And on occasion, I provide much needed misinformation!

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 3:29:47 PM | well some use the lurker term too much i know i dont lurk and quite willing to meet "REAL PEOPLE" off this thing we call the net. So people who use this term loosely need to get a grib..i do hear ya man, good point. | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 5:28:57 PM | I generally only post if I think I have something to contribute to the conversation, or if someone else is being a moron and I need to refute them. There is a slim possibility that I'm opinionated | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 6:41:44 PM | I post because I think everyone is entitled to my opinion!! WD | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 6:53:52 PM | I post because for the most part it's good clean fun..and it's the most fun you can have at home..I mean it's much more entertaining than anything on TV..and a whole lot betta than the chores I should be doin | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 7:03:46 PM | I agree, Quadly. Who needs a reason?
and it's the most fun you can have at home
I have to agree here as well. It's especially fun while eating bad food at the same time.
Now I'm going to be in trouble for not disagreeing in favor of sex.

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 7:34:58 PM | | You got that bang-on archangel. It is good clean fun . It be the most fun you can at home if you got none to have better fun with. T.V is boring isn' it? Chores still must be done. Due stuff you just have to do to the beat of music. Music be my biggest addiction. Posting can get tiresome.Music never. Post to the music. | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 7:40:34 PM | | You got that bang-on Archangel. Posting like listening to music just be far too much fun. Music be the funniest thing you can do at home, posting the second funniest. Yuppers,T.V be pretty mundane. Do what has to be done to the beat of music. Post to the Music. Post for whatever reason you please,as long as others don't mind. If they do,find-out why? | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/12/2007 8:47:59 PM | | I post because it a way to get to know people of here..I enjoy the forums alot | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 3/13/2007 1:05:04 AM | | I usually post just because I feel like contributing to a particular conversation. Browsing the forums is an interesting way to see what kinds of people are out there - that's what keeps me coming back. | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 3/13/2007 8:40:49 AM | I agree with Nrk...
I too am usually just in "Work Avoidance" mode..

Could it be to see your name on the screen(kind of like hearing your own voice)? For sure! "Bob Dole think Bob Dole like to hear Bob Dole's name!" An extension of this is to see who responds to what you said, what they say, and whether or not your comment was what pulled them out of lurker status into the open.
Other reasons would be as follows: Voicing of the opinions in public. Some people write letters to the editor, some get on soap boxes, some write songs / poetry ... short of it is that it's an outlet to vent and share with others.
On more than one occasion I've commented in a thread, even without having much to say, just to keep it alive because I thought it was worthy.
Then there's also boredom, plain and simple.

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/13/2007 1:55:52 PM | | The forums can be interesting and a doorway to who knows what. Any and all contributions can be either good or bad. They be the coolest feature of the site. Cool features for cool people. Makes you wonder what the whole point of the site might be. Just might be whatever we all chose it to be,if we chose to,that is. Post away and maybe get to go out and play. | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/13/2007 5:25:49 PM | | Why do I post? no idea. I really don't pay attention to the forums and I just throw out random comments. I guess I agree with the goofyness answer. | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/14/2007 9:36:49 AM | because i can......like everyone on this site,we all have an opinion and we all want people to read our view on things, otherwise you wouldn't be posting. i like reading other people's opinion, whether i agree or not,it is their opinion. i'm glad not everyone has the same opinion because then it would be awfully boring to read. what i find interesting is people who go out of their way to correct someone, were not in school here people, let it gooooooo!!!to have an opinion is one thing but to post just to bash is not nice........i myself wanted to say a few nasty's in these forum's but i try for the most part to stay on topic and i'm not in the mood to go out of my way to correct them...i would much rather do that in person, lol forum's are suppose to be for fun and should be takin' with a grain of salt. someone out there is going to be annoyed with someone no matter what they have to say, can't please everyone. | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 3/14/2007 9:42:42 AM | I have no opinion.... unbiased and opinion free...... ahhhh i feel good........ | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 3/14/2007 4:06:46 PM | | You got it. Some things should be left for in person, but if you got no other choice. Make a point, hopefully get the right response and let sleeping dosed lye. Sometimes issues don't go away for a damn good reason. Just leave them be and move on and learn from them. Posting be fun and hopefully useful too. Gotta use it though. | |

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/14/2007 6:04:49 PM | For a good laugh!
Some of the topics start off so seriously and end in a fit of giggles; it -is- the most fun you can have at home. Also to put myself out there more. Messages only do you so much, you know :P Get to know other people as more than just their profile&pictures. Maybe snag a fish with a line or two

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/14/2007 6:24:30 PM | There are a myrriad of reasons why I post.
There are times that I just want to be the sarcastic witty little redneck my mamma raised me to be.
There are other threads that hit a nerve and warrant a logical in depth discussionary comment.
What better place to gauge your interest in someone by monitoring and responding in the same threads. Sometimes, the comments made in a thread can greatly influence how you perceive that person or changing a pre-existing notion because of their profile or picture.
I am who I am..love me or hate me, I'm not changing!

I was just going to give Quadly credit for Posterbation as he coined it in a thread I started ....called.... "Is it just me or is there something in the air/water?".... We all got really carried away in commenting why we post.... was pretty hilarious actually.... Lets not foget folks....when there's a hole lot of posterbation going on....play safe and use lots of lube!!

| Why do you post? Posted: 3/14/2007 7:13:41 PM | | Boredom. Sheer boredom. Then again, sometimes there's an interesting subject on the table that I have something to say about. Other times just to ruffle some feathers haha! | |
|
| Why do you post? Posted: 8/15/2008 9:18:37 PM | I am fairly sure it is not about being liked because only 1.333322595 posters like me. I think it is about being heard. (I am not upset by the 1.33...5. Life is like that. I will heal. Maybe, I will crawl off into a corner and lick my wounds.)
When I speak, face to face, it is more about being liked and being kind. I am much more agreeable in real life.
Maybe, posting is about seeing how the real world would accept the real me and, apparently, the answer is not well. However, a few forum readers, not writers, really like my posts and encourage me.
This, too, shall pass. By this I mean, the desire to post. Eventually, we'll all move on.
