Posted: 3/20/2007 6:30:24 PM | I am 35 and I had this to happen to me recently by a 41 y/o man I met on another popular dating site. It sucks sweetie. We met online, had a couple of meetings and then he went out of town. I talked to him nearly everyday sometimes 3/4 times a day. When he got back from town, he didn't let me know he got back in until the next day, something about getting back late. The last I heard from him was Friday before last. I gave him three days to call me leaving voice messages, text messages and emails once a day. I still haven't heard anything. I am still a little pissed about it, but I moved on.
But dont go too far and don't stay too long in your misery. Empower yourself, read "He's Not That Into You" and "The List" rent Phat Girls with Mo'Nique. I am going to Houston next month for a girlfriend getaway. I got my hair done Saturday and have been taking it easy. Guess what, the jerks will be there, but instead of brooding, use that energy towards something worthy, YOU hotstuff :) I am a thick girl too and I love myself. Don't sweat the small stuff beautiful, chances are he was a piece of crap anyway. No real man would treat a queen that way.

I remember when my GF and I met on here (just as friends, chatting) we talked every night for a couple weeks, then one night I wasn't online. She was all worried when I IM'd her the next day that I had pulled the "dissapearing act" on her... truth is, I just had a really bad day at work, ate and flopped in front of the TV and fell asleep, woke up like 5AM with the lights on and TV going  . Hey, I'm human.
Haven't dissapeared on her yet  . I still occasionally miss a night, I do try to put up an away msg if I just can't keep myself awake, but the key there is she knows to expect it once in a while, I'm on-call with work once every 5 weeks and occasionally I'll get a bad night, getting woken up all night long, and the next night I'm usually pretty wiped out. We have that thing called "communication". If I know in advance I won't be around, I'll let her know. | |

Posted: 3/21/2007 7:20:26 AM | I think I've got alittle 'guy' in me. Once I met a guy online and talking on the phone it turned out he knew my uncle quite well. Well when I met him in person he looked only slightly like his pic...like it had been from 20 years ago or a brother or something. He really kind of gave me the creeps as he was not attractive to me and really clingy.
Anyway I took the semi-chicken way out and sent him an email saying I didn't think we had any chemistry. He asked about the pic but I just politely said I didn't think we were a match and he sent me some awful emails about how horrible I was and he was going to tell my aunt and uncle. Like they would take his side againist me. It was so immature.
Normally I just wouldn't have called him back.
Although I am an honest person I think alot of people can't deal with the honesty thing or even polite half truths.

You are a young girl & sound lovely. The dating scene for your age group is more difficult, especially online. Don't look to find 'the one' quite yet. This is your time of discovery & learning.....even if some of the things you discover (steve.xj) are not pleasant.
I would put your profile up for review in the appropriate thread. It's pretty good, but with a bit of tweaking & some patience, you can meet people that will enhance your life.
As for 'steve'....i think his wife got the better end of that deal.......

Like one gal said it can be a tad harder for us younger gals to find love, mainly cus the guys our age seem to be out to get a leg over. Im sure we'll meet the right person one day but for now we are young and should really just live our life's cus we only get one shot at life!
