One last thing...be aware that transfers/taxis from the airport into Benidorm will cost somewhere in the region of £40.00 each way, so always better to share...or..if there are a lot of ppl arriving at the same time, look at the possibilty of actually booking a coach for all of you
Not to bad if 4 are sharing, and theres always a couple of folk willing to share a cab with two others at the airport if going in the same direction. | |

Benidorm and other places along the Mediterranean Sea are having bad weather. this summer is one of the worst.
by the way, i would recommend hiring a car, instead of taxis or buses.

Sorry, but this meet didnt really get any further than the thread. This type of meet just takes to much organising...Different airports, times, hotels etc.. | |

Posted: 10/14/2007 4:46:10 PM | The taxi from Alicante to Benidorm is expensive ( around 80 euros) so about 50 quid. taxis take a maximum of four people so its abit harsh if there are two of you. There is a bus service that costs around 5 euros per person and leaves Alicante heading up to Benidorm every thirty minutes or so between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm Monday to saturday- ask at the information desk near the car hire desks just before you leave Alicante airport complex.
If returning from your hotel in Benidorm ask at the reception a couple of days beforehand and you can sort a minibus if there is a few of you- if you leave it until the night before then there seems to be a gentlemens agreement and you will have to get a taxi strange I know but fell foul of it more than once.
For an interesting interlude Myself and a few ex pats (Living in IBIZA) are playing a cricket match in the picturesque town of Albir 3 kilometres north of Benidorm over the weekend of 9-12th of November. worth a day out maybe? its a break from the "sunny Blackpool" sort of place and has some nice Swedish and Argentinian retauarants and bars. | |

I kind of disagree, this kind of meet wouldn't take that much organising, you wouldn't be responsible for people's choice of airport/hotels etc, you just say what date you are going, what hotel you are staying at and then it's up to everyone else if they want to stay at that hotel or make alternative arrangements. You're never far away from each other in Benidorm anyway and there are millions of hotels and apartments to choose from
Shame this isn't taking place, a nice break in the sun in november would have been nice | |

Yes just say the time and place eg Friday the 10th? @ 21:00 in Vincents in the old town and work it from there!

I see where the above two posts are coming from but people arent going to jet off to Benidorm on their own in the hope that they will meet up with others from POF. The idea was for us all to be together ie staying in the same hotel or as close as possible etc.
Its not even feasible moneywise for a person to stay in a hotel room on their own.
If anyone wants to go ahead and try to organise it though, then go ahead as there was quite a bit of interest though I doubt it will be November now, Perhaps next year though. | |
