But the key part is the action should be making you happy, joyous....if the action does that then you're in harmony...if you view it as a chore, then you're not in sync.
I'm taking my time with it, just now starting to put together the things I'm going to "wish" for. It's a little scary, afraid to ask for too much...and at the same time afraid to ask for too little. | |

I hear you. Many of us have had upbringings where is it wrong to ask for anything. This is a whole new concept for some. Many on here say that it's a waste of money to purchase this book/dvd. Perhaps for some it would be, however, there are many that it would help tremendously. Also, it's always good to be reminded...it's much too easy to go back to old ways with old tapes playing in our heads.
I'm grateful to have this venue to discuss our thoughts on the subject none the less.

Money doesn't grow on trees...that's firmly imbedded in my subconcious mind. Even as a kid, if we went out to dinner I instinctively looked down the right hand side of the menu and tried to pick something inexpensive.
Even now that I'm breaking free of that mindset, I find my "wishes" tend to be somewhat realistic...which is good I think. If I aim too high then it's hard to truly 'receive' something when I view it as being unattainable.
It's spring time, a season of rebirth and renewal....I'm reminding myself that this isn't a one step process. Once a lilac bush blooms that isn't the end of the story...each year it is reborn bigger and with more blossoms than the last. | |

I was thinking back to all the times I was in an extremely positive frame of mind and what (or who) had entered my life at those times. Now if one can truly be that happy ALL the time.. they should be quite abundant with pretty much all they want.
Like truly does attract like. But you have to feel it like they say in the movie.. not just think it. It's hard to explain. | |

I didn't want to burden my parents even more so I never asked for anything I didn't really need. Wants...I didn't go there too often as a kid.
I'm going there now though.....big, bold, beautiful WANTS!!!
Since I watched the movie....I have a chat with myself in my bathroom mirror each morning...and I say THANK YOU to the Universe. ..and I've given up cigarettes. Wasn't really planning to do that....lol | |

What I understood.... is what we all already know the power within us that makes things work.
Look at things positively and you will attract it.
Look at things negatively and if you believe you deserve it in you subconsciousness mind not necessarily in your consciousness mind you'll attract it.
if you say why do I deserve all these bad luck? or even if you say I don't deserve it you are telling yourself that you have that power of attracting bad.
So even if something not so good comes your way look at it as there is something good in it and ask yourself "I wonder what good its in that?” and wait till you find out.

Posted: 8/21/2007 1:36:37 PM | A few series of events happened in my life recently that threw me off balance and off track. I suddenly found myself without a job and the pending job I had waiting was withdrawn.
Instead of going 'oh woe is me' I sat down and watched "The Secret". I have been hounded by a few people for months to watch or read "The Secret". So when the movie was almost finished, I started to feel restless and felt like I needed to do something.
Earlier today I spoke with someone on the phone and was told that someone would be calling me with a job today. I got so I did not want to wait any longer so I decided to make the call myself. When I called this place of business, instead of the receptionist answering the phone, the person I was calling answered. When I told her I was calling just for her, she said...omg..I was just picking up the phone to call you!
So, just believing in the power of positive thought and the laws of attraction has its merits. If you have not read it or seen the movie...see THE SECRET! | |

Posted: 8/21/2007 2:26:35 PM | The power of positive thought is a wonderous thing - more powerful than some will ever know. If people have to read 'The Secret' to find that out - then go for it! However I would say borrow it from the library or a friend - it's expensive from what I understand.
It's hard to disallow negative thoughts and negative outside forces into our life - but we all have the ability to rise above it all! | |

Posted: 8/21/2007 6:39:38 PM | I have a copy of the dvd, but I haven't yet watched it. Ironically enough, I'm too angry about something to watch it tonight as I had planned. lol. (my anger is b/c of dealing with a very negative person in my life.. someone toxic whom I should cut off ties with.. but it's hard, b/c it's family).
The book however, I bought in late May, and am reading through it for the fourth time now. It has been such an inspiration to me, and has helped me to get out of a massive slump I was in (after a relationship ended). I even bought another copy of the book and mailed it to the man I was involved with, and hoped that he could get some healing from it like I had. Last I heard, he hadn't read it yet. But his time will come. :) One day he will be ready to absorb the information it has to offer. And like many of us I'm sure, he'll wonder why he waited so long, or didn't "get it" on his own (the concepts).
One of the next books I have lined up to read is Charles Haanel's "Master Key System" (he's one of the many people quoted in the Secret). It comes with some lessons... so I have some work ahead of me... but it's all good. :) | |
