being tall, or small!!! pros and cons

I have two tall brothers. One is constantly being told "You are tall." At 6'10, he is well aware of the fact, but is somewhat amused by the people who get offended when he answers with "you are short."

I was out shopping with my other, not quite as tall, brother a few weeks ago, and this little old man was following us around asking my brother to help him reach this or that. My brother is very ill with cancer, and usually not in good humor after treatments. After about the tenth time that the old man asked "You are tall. Could you help me reach that?" my brother picked him up and put him on eye level with the item in question. Then he told the man that if he needs further help he should ask an employee of the store, or start paying for "tall services."

I could understand his frustration. I have encountered the same. When I was at the end of my pregnancy and very much in pain with it, a small woman was trying to get me to reach heavy things on a high shelf for her. I wouldn't. I told her to ask a worker for assistance... and she hit me with her purse, saying she was in too much of a hurry to track down help.

Now, when someone follows me around asking me to reach something up high for them, I'll point to something on a lower shelf and ask if they'll reach it for me. I don't mind helping out once in a while, but I do feel harassed when I am followed around as a personal reaching stick for people.

Other than that, being tall is great.

i too am very small, not sure it bothers me though, most men that have found me attractive have all said that the "LITTLE" factor had a lot to do with it
so i guess its a good thing in my case, i never let it stop me dating taller guys though, some times i have even needed to get out the yellow pages

I don't mind my height (5ft 8) as it fairly tall but not too tall

In heels I am about 5ft 11 and always feels short when I take them off - actually think i'd like to be an inch or two taller. I do prefer taller men though

Wouldn;t want to be shorter, just wouldn't feel like me :) and a lot of tall men like their women taller as they don't have to stoop so low ;)

Same as me but when I was young it was considered very tall for a girl. These days there are much taller girls - my daughter is 5'10 - have I imagined that or have women got taller as time as gone on?!
