Wow I went on holidays for a few days and come back to see I lost a team mate and gained a new one as did most other teams I suspect. Well the good news is that I didn't give in to my friend and stay in Vancouver longer or I would have to bow out of the tournament too. I'd love to find someone to carpool with on Sat if possible as I just finished driving 11hrs and I don't really want to sit behind the wheel for any more extended driving if I can help it. Anybody interested in helping a gal out?

That car-pooling idea makes a lot of sense, especially as funnyginger and I are teammates ... too bad we live in opposite directions from Olds.

Anyone in Edmonton want to ride down together?

Hey Sassy, don't worry about our fourth, me and Free are coming up together, so now the Swinging Threesome is the "Moresome Foursome".

I think she's in the LPGA too, like you. Looks Good, Gots Attitude.

Just to put fear into all other teams, I got a hole in one yesterday at McCall Lake on the 12th Par 4. Yes, that's right, a hole in one. I walked up to the tee box and noticed grass stains on my Pinnacle 3 and promptly put it into the ball washer and gave the handle a spin. The ball flew out of the ******** machine (I put the asteriks in myself, knowing they would be here anyways) bounced once and went straight down a gopher hole.
BEAT THAT!!!

FOR EVERYBODY! Reconnaisance has reported the following intelligence information regarding Olds Golf Course:

The beer cart passes every fourth hole or so,

The club does not allow outside alcoholic beverages to be brought onto the course,

If you decide to bring your own, the following should definitely NOT be brought along, as these ARE the brands that the beer cart and clubhouse SELL (making it very difficult for them to differentiate between what they sold and anything smuggled in):

In cans:
Molson Canadian
Coors Light
Budweiser
Pilsener (Lethbridge brand)
O'Douls
Big Rock Grasshopper
Big Rock Honey Brown

In bottles:
Corona
Bacardi Breezers (multiple flavors, although only red labels were reported)
Mott's Caesars

2 more sleeps and the mayhem begins.

The 12th at McCall!! Must have been the back wash of a jet flying over that gave it tht extra trevel speed to move that far from the ball washer!!

(The drink prices are reasonalble at the course, so use wisdom!!)

Hey Only1, thanks for the offer but, ah, how about NO!

When I think about using wisdom, I remember that those teeth have been ripped from my gaping maw, therefore, I am no longer beholden to the ideals that wisdom entails.

Duffy, the distance from the ballwasher to the gopher hole (not including the 3 ft drop) was about 8 inches. Not impressive for a hole in one, I know, but change the subject and, hey... bada bing.

Hey George,

I am so sorry but I don't think I can make it to this golf event. I have some issues here @ home that I need to work out and right now family is more important than a game of golf. I haven't been spending too much time with Scottie (my son) and I need to fix a few things .....

sorry for screwing things up.....

well I was planning on being there before 8:30, but yes .....for those of you that were travelling southbound on QE2 , that was my car stranded on the side of the road south of the hobbema turnoff. Nothing like an hour walk to the nearest payphone, and a 3 hour wait for a tow truck. Just got home now, less my wheels.

My apologies to all my teammates, I was so looking forward to this day!

Instead I'm bitterly dissapointed and have to wait tilll next week for a mechanic to look at my car!(Which is stuck in Wetaskiwin)

Hope all had a good time and have some drinks for me.....I could use a few right now!javascript:smilie('')

We did have a great time! Duffster, you did an incredible job of putting this all together. I know that everyone appreciated how much effort you put into pulling this golf tourney off! From organizing the teams, prizes, meal, golf, name tags, reorganizing the teams only to have to reorganize the teams once again - to have it all work out. Only thing left for the rest of us to do was show up, golf, meet new people, catch up with others, eat, share a lot of laughs and enjoy the beautiful day. Kudos to you! I know that you had help with donations of prizes and I would like to thank those folks for stepping up and "chipping" in for the cause! A few of those were golfers that came to golf and still brought along prizes! How great is that!

What a day!!
Just wish it did not have to end as soon as it did! I left Olds at 11:00 p.m. and the party was still going on. Laughing, joking, story telling, drinking, dancing, all a part of what makes for a good day. For those that through various circumstance were not able to attend that had planned on it, you missed one very good get-together!!

There were people from Oakville, Morinville, Ft. McMurray, Edmonton, Red Deer, Okotoks, Calgary, Didsbury, Airdrie, Langdon and Olds if I missed a town or city, my apologies.

Great having everyone come out and the best part was hearing people talking about next year!! Thanks one and all for wanting to golf and have a good time while meeting a bunch of new people. I hope the first time function attending people enjoyed themselves enough to venture out again, and remember, Calgary has events and happenings going all the time, if there isn't a big one planned, we create something to do.

Thanks one and all for making a great day even better, pictures will be posted as soon as I can find my camera!!

Next year sounds real good to me Duffy!

What a day with a great crew of peeps. My golfing threesome was totally awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed the antics of the threesome from "mars" ahead of us. Dinner was good, the company was even better..........(who invited shawn of a b??? hehe)

After all was said and done, I got wet and then took home booze, candles and balls!!!! Does it get any better than that???

THANKS AGAIN DUFFY!

WOW

I had heard that Western hospitality is second to none and that was so true yesterday Yesterday eve in the Yak was great...not least due to my dance buddy Tracy.......

Thanks to Duffy(I will wear the hat with pride!), Jerry the golfer(how's the elbow sport?), old but fine (yeehaa) and all those who made me feel so welcome. The bruises from the Bull riding are huge and I think I will have some 'splainin' to do

Wendy and I look forward to the next tourney!!!!!!

Again a huge thank you to all of you from both of us

Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I think our team won the most fun award, opps no award for that this year, maybe next.

Ok picture this at the Blue Yak - Shawn and Gary (80's theme party) dancing to the Jennifer Beals - Flashdance song Maniac, I'm sorry I thought I would seriously split my pants laughing, and yes the audience thought they were pretty fuuny tooo.

Most fun I've had in some time, and so nice to meet another bunch of fantastic people.

Thanks to George this would not have happened without all his hard work. Disapointed in the people who signed up and didn't show up... You lose.
