| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/16/2007 5:11:09 AM | ooooh, iiinnnteeerrreeesssttttiiinnnggg.
Mine is the ghost pipe fish (Solanostamus paradoxus).
Why?
Because it is one of planet Earths true shape shifters. It grows spines to blend with coral and absorbs those spines when in open water... all by the process of apotosis.
Why is this relevant to me..?
Because I work with transformation via NLP, hypnosis and healing. People go thru massive change around me, usually very quickly, usually getting what they want. some don't of course, can't win all the time, but most do.

| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/16/2007 9:28:03 AM | Coelacanth, definitely. And Hermit Crab. Those probably describe me best.
And how about the Babel fish? (a nod to Hitchhiker's Guide - the Babel fish is the one you stick in your ear to translate alien langages)
A few more thoughts: Caviar and Sturgeon of course Mudskipper Sprat Smoked Herring & Pickled Herring (for smokers & drinkers?) Disco Fish (yes, it's a real fish species - a type of glassfish known for its bright neon colours, and presumably, smooth moves on the dancefloor) Flying Fish Wolf Fish (aka Seawolf) Harlequin Fish Kissing Gourami Oscar (regarded as intelligent fish with distinct personalities) Siamese Fighting Fish Talking Catfish (googled - a species for those who are prepared to wait a while before they see any activity. Primarily nocturnal, it is shy and retiring, and if rousted from its hiding place will soon emit the croaking sounds which give it its name. When it is seen, this is an attractive and unusual catfish; the skin and fin rays are armoured with spines which make them prickly to handle (and quite capable of drawing blood).)

|
| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/16/2007 1:00:39 PM | Well, I tried it... and I don't like where it puts the type of fish. Admin, maybe display it somewhere else? It certainly doesn't rate with people's handles and taglines as the most important thing, and does detract from them.
Cheers, Mike (maybe we need the singing bigmouth bass plaque too)

| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/16/2007 7:06:32 PM | What about sole and splake? Splake is a blend of speckled and lake trout. I think my friends would probably say I am a sunfish!

| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/16/2007 7:49:11 PM | I 'm a Mahi-mahi..
Mahi-mahi This magnificent, brilliantly coloured tropical fish was named mahi-mahi (strong-strong) by Hawaiians. It is also called dolphinfish or dorado in English. All mahi-mahi are striking with an iridescent bluish green and gold body, but males have blunt, club-shaped heads. ...although I don't believe my head is blunt or club shaped ...unless I have bed head.

| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/17/2007 10:36:00 AM | Yehhhhh!! I am sooo happy that Admin gave as an option when picking your fish type - No personality- Yehhhh!! I was stuck with that thing on my profile for days and I was NOT happy about it. I don't want to pick a fish personality and have it on my profile in like big green letters after my screen name, in my opinion that's like going out in public with a booger hanging out of your nose~Mkay... I'm so glad I no longer have to. | |

| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/17/2007 12:00:29 PM | With all due respect, admin ... is it really necessary to 'force' people to do this ?? Not everyone is that comfortable with thinking of themselves as a metaphor. I'd be one of those.

| Pick Your Fish Type. Posted: 3/17/2007 1:01:22 PM | Sorry admin ... I read your original post and your first sentence sounded as if it was mandatory. Given that it is a choice, I think it's like all the other new additions you've put on this site -- great stuff. There's something here for everyone to enjoy. Although I'm not one who'd tend to use this feature, I've noticed that many have already blended their fish metaphor into their profile. As I said ... something for everyone.
