| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 11:48:59 AM | I’d use it …but not right after my name…Perhaps a slightly less prominent place. I’m okay with defining myself as a hammerhead, but not in that spot
It’s a good idea! Perhaps you might consider a few more types
Grouper Whale Tiger Firemouth Hermit Puffer Dogfish Sea Devil Flounder Flying Fish Squaretail Bullhead Stingray Toadfish Snapper Or Prehistoric Canned Fish Pickled Fish Succulent Fish

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 12:03:08 PM | Love it, bub! :-) I could not decide between crab as I can be crabby at times or the octopus as I have varied interests (varied arms, varied interests).
Tho, the fish isn't my favorite animal.... :-p ;-)
How about having some rodent faces here? A cute mouse smiley, or a snarling rat face.....or even a sleeping hamster face? ;-)

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 12:08:24 PM | | in response to the request for rodent faces.....pehaps a dating site called PlentyofRats might have those...I'm thinking the fish were part of a theme...hmmm just maybe? | |

| Fish Personalities..... pick it wheer ? Posted: 3/14/2007 12:19:40 PM | "You now have to pick your fish personality....."
Ok so where LOL ? I went to the link to edit my profile & can NOT find it .
Some guidance please | |

| Fish Personalities..... pick it wheer ? Posted: 3/14/2007 12:27:57 PM | | In seeing you can't change it if you decide to later on I would be now skeptical and don't know how serious anyone would take that and how honest one would be either. | |
|
| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 12:33:15 PM | I remember this subject from a past forum. You have to add "red snapper" as this was my answer then. Almost anyone with red hair would want to be a red snapper. Thanks, I'll be looking for it in fish personalities. Rojo | |

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 12:49:30 PM | Hmmmm ... Okay considering the choices ... I went with Starfish!! (LOL) | |
|
| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 12:50:13 PM | I had to click on every single profile in this thread .... out of curiosity to find out what 'fish personality' everyone chose and if they even made a choice.
I have such a 'curiosity killed the cat' personality.

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 12:51:15 PM | I like being a fishy, thats hott! But I think we should get a lil fishy and we should get to pick the color, I mean we have a beer mug but no fish? Lol. I wanna be a pink fish!
Like each fish personality should come with a picture of a lil fishy (Matching the personality) Than we should have a color bar that makes our personal fishy whatever color!!!
I like the fishy idea, let the good times roll!!!

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 1:00:58 PM | | I really like that new item in the profiles. I'm a dolphin (sweet, gentle, and loves to be around other people). | |
|
| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 1:20:26 PM | I like the thought but it needs to go somewhere else other then in the headline of your name and title. Also would be a good idea to add what type of personality you would like your mate to be as well.

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 1:21:19 PM | response to LOYAL T yes you can change it......on the very spot where you selected it .. the very top option is NO PERSONALITY.. ... perhaps if it said no personality chosen... more would have understood...
and in response to those who would like to see explanations of choices... try the first line of your "about me" section...I used that spot to explain my choice... c'mon people ...it isnt rocket science.

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 1:29:08 PM | | Maybe there should be descriptions on what kind of fish has what kind of personality? Otherwise, I find it a bit useless.... | |
|
| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 1:47:13 PM | I picked Damselfish...
Blue Devil Damselfish (Chrysiptera cyanea)
The Blue Damselfish, also known as the Blue Devil Damselfish, is an extremely popular marine fish because it is readily available and because it is very hardy.
They get the nick name Blue Devil because of their personality. They can be very belligerent with other fish in the tank, especially new arrivals. They are very bold and can hold their own with larger fish and may even go after your hand if it approaches their territory. They didn't get the memo about them only being a few inches in size. We'll call it the mighty mouse syndrome.
As mentioned previously, Blue Damsel fish will develop their own territory in the tank. Having live rock in your aquarium will help make them comfortable and it will provide them with hiding places. You can get away with keeping multiple Blue Damselfish in the same tank if you introduce them at the same time. Because of their "anger management" issues it is a good idea to introduce them last into your setup.
Blue Damselfish are not very picky when it comes to fish food and should accept most foods that you give them. Try to give them a varied diet of live, frozen, freeze-dried and vitamin-enriched flake foods.
They seem to be very resistant to most saltwater fish disease but you still need to take the proper pre-cautions and use a quarantine tank before introducing them into your main tank. After they've been in quarantine for two weeks or so and you notice no signs of illness you can acclimate them into your display tank.

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 1:52:22 PM | I agree it seems useless and irrelevant to the purpose of this site, it has nothing to do with personal descriptions, dating, forums, etc.
Last night, it would not let me edit my profile without choosing at least one "fish type" and I found that annoying as it wasn't optional, but now it is.
Obviously this has a certain note of fun in it, but I also agree it should be placed elsewhere on one's profile than in the middle of the headline.
Of course there are many suggestions as to what type of fish to add to the list, and I am sure there will be someone who will eventually complain and ask the mods to add "Sperm Whale" to the list of choices ROFL.....
And then there are also the "Moray Eel" types which are so (NOT) compassionate....
I don't see where the available choices represent my personality type in any way, so I guess I gotta wait for one that matches me?
Maybe the barnacle would be fitting cause I tend to stick to my beliefs and follow my heart wherever, but I don't know about the longest penis in the animal kingdom part ROFLMAO!!!! How bout just average or only slightly better???

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 2:04:11 PM | Hmm . . . seems like everyone wants to be a dolphin. Good idea. Only problem is the dolphin isn't a fish. It's a mammal, lol. There is a category of fish called the dolphinfish, but I don't think anyone's thinking about "mahi-mahi" when they think of dolphins. They're thinking of Flipper.
Whales are mammals too.

So are penguins :) | |

| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 2:17:43 PM | | Well I will wait and see what happens before I decide if this new section does the trick for me. If I dont like it can I go back to the old way? | |
|
| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 2:18:28 PM | | I was thinking it was going to be a quiz you take to tell you what you are like. This is kinda fun too. | |
|
| Fish Personalities..... Posted: 3/14/2007 2:25:16 PM | well its easy to say things about yourself, but are they always strictly true or is there room for variance. things like try anything once. some ideas just sound, weird, disgusting etc to people.
I feel that the words try anything once should be deleted from all pof profiles and let the particpants in dicussion bring it up
