Posted: 3/14/2007 2:08:00 PM | i actually had a date with a lady the other week, she had to tap me on the shoulder so i knew it was her. she was a totally different person to her pic, she said it was because she was scared her friends would see her on a dating site!!!!!
needless to say i went to the mensroom paid the waiter and slipped out of the back door!!. | |

How long is a pic good?
Is there a "Manlaw" on that or something?

I update mine once a year. Usually in the spring or summer. Cus everyone just looks best then. We got more color in our faces. Maybe tanned. and the outside lighting is better. Peeps just seem happier more photogenic in spring-summer. I mean who looks good in a heavy coat-n-cap, shivering in december? I'm fixin to get some new ones up in month or so. But be pretty much the same as the old ones.
So peeps, do you think a yearly update is proper?
Or should pics be changed out sooner?
How soon?
By the way, I noticed some of the forum babes here have updated their pics and look even better than the old ones. Too cool.
Maybe the POF girls should have a committee and officially take the guy pics this summer. If yall bring the camera, us guys will bring the margaritas.

I think us men need to come up with man laws about pics in general. I have two myself and no I don't go through men's profiles but I see them on their maiin forum pic.
1. Men shouldn't take pics on a couch while holding a small dog.
2. Men should not take butt pics, under ANY circumstances. | |

I think some people intentionally post bad pictures in order to deceive you for one reason or another. It doesnt make sense to me; usually I know if I want to meet them from chatting with them, not from looking at their picture. | |

Posted: 3/15/2007 10:34:07 AM | Well, I am realizing that newbies at POF almost need to go through a training session to be able to take full advantage of the dating opportunities. One of things I am starting to do is ask for close-ups of their faces. I have been very surprised at how different they look on a close-up shot. I think the pics of people at a distance can be decieving when it comes to the way they really look.
Am I being too picky? I don't think so. On POF the pic is one of the main resources used for seeking out that special "fishy". Without the aid of phermones, the pic plays a significant part in that initial attraction factor. | |

Posted: 3/15/2007 11:08:03 AM | Rare, sometime the quality of the film and camera can make apperances differ. And lighting has a lot to do with the quality of the picture. Too much light or too much darkness will distort the picture. I don't fret if I meet a lady and she appears to have some features that do not show up in her picture,or do show in her pictures.
Men can wear caps or hats in their pictures and look different once you see them in person.
Women,can fix their hair different ways that change their face and appearance. Some women have bangs in their pictures then you meet them and they have their hair fixed different so more of their face and forehead is exposed.
I met a real genuine and very personable lady here on POF a few weeks ago and she has her picture uploaded.She has her hair fixed in her picture much different than she did when we met. She looked quiet different in person,too. I hope she doesn't see this then kill me for putting this here,but she looked great wearing little pig tails. "HA"
Pictures will change the apperance depending the distance from the camera.
Close ups usually show the person to have a few extra pounds than those farther from the camera...
huhknee, I bet if you change the way you fix your hair ,you will look different in person than what you do in your pictures. I checked your pictures and you are a very attractive lady,but a couple of pictures you have uploaded are very dark and the darkness hides your face.
No I don't think your being too picky. Your being smart and doing the right thing.I agree some people are not trustworthy so don't fret about being picky or questioning the difference between the pictures and the face to face apperance.
I tried to mail you but our mail settings are preventing me from doing so.
But yes,I have met ladies that their pictures differ from what they look like in person. | |

I think the pics of people at a distance can be decieving when it comes to the way they really look.
It's not deceiving, we're just taking pic from the best possible angle and sometimes that angle happens to be far away.

Whyspr,I wish you would leave Rare alone long enough for me to get him to answer his phone. Straycat,you and Rare ,especially Rare need to meet up with me at Bennigans. Stray, I'll buy your dinner but not Rare's....
By the way ladies,Rare looks exactly the way his pictures portray him....Just be careful when he makes a bet with you.....
I specifically point Rare out because my 30.00 dollar steak has plenty roon now to digest.
