I guess the people who come up with the choices are trying to be as nice as possible without saying it like it is.
For example: skeleton thin, boney, normal, a jelly roll, all-over tubby, and just plain morbidly obese.
I must add to the thread that I hate my pics, look exactly them, and yes, they are quite current. :) | |

But then again now that I think of it, Women seem attracted to Thugs... So why haven't they ever contacted me? LOL
Teasing...
But seriously I think I look like my pictures.
Heck I got people that recognize me from my year book pictures way back in 79.
But if I don't look like my picture when someone meets me, I wanna know what glasses they were wearing so I can mass produce them and sell them to all the good looking ladies out there. Might up my chances ya know. ::grins:: | |

Posted: 4/20/2007 9:16:56 AM | For all of us who don’t look like our pics... well, maybe, just maybe we weren’t blessed with wonderful photogenicity (yes, I think that I just invented this word). I don’t see myself as unattractive, but I don’t see myself on the cover of GQ anytime soon either! If I used my passport photo, people would undoubtedly say that I look like a spy... driver’s license, a madman.... school pic, well, my eyes were closed... and so on. Maybe it’s like a scene from the movie “Tootsie”, when they wanted to make Dustin Hoffman look good (as a woman), the cameraman suggested that he back up (from NY) to Cleveland!  | |

Posted: 4/20/2007 2:53:31 PM | I was told some people take better pictures and some take really bad pictures. I kind of hope I don't look like my pictures personally. I keep hoping I look better.
But I think looking close to the picture would be great. Perhaps trying not to judge too much by the picture, but getting into your mind that they look similar to that.
What kills you is when they "Aren't" what they show in a picture. I have known one woman online since 1999. Fortunately we were just friends, Her from CA, me from Tx I never even considered getting close to her.
She sends me this really Hot picture, she is 32 years old, leather jacket, not fully zipped up, wonderfully long blonde hair. Talking WOW.
Saw a few other pictures I won't mention, but really loved how she looked.
Well, about 2 months ago she finally "Confessed" something. By now she should be what? 38 years old... Truth is she just turned 55. She is about 120 lbs larger, The Pictures she had sent me years ago wasn't of her but of a relative of hers. Including the special pictures. Which it seems she has sent these pictures to several. She suddenly has a son that is 27 years old.
Would have been a nightmare if I had gotten interested in her. Everything was total lies. But we are still friends because as I told her. It don't matter, we are simply online friends, not dating or in a relationship that requires truths only. | |

I find that honesty is really the best policy when you are on here just because very rarely would someone fall for a bait and switch. Especially in the dating realm.
However I'm surprized that happens a lot here on POF because can't you leave comments or what not about someone needing to change their pic or of being fake? | |

Posted: 4/23/2007 11:21:51 PM | | I am at a point in my life where I know what I want and so I figure I better be honest from the get go. I included a range of pics from 2001 to just a month ago. This way, I figure people can see how much or how little I have changed over the last few years. Other than haircolor and weight fluctuation +/- 20lbs, not a whole lot has changed. The lighting on my pics also varies, so I believe my photos are very honest. I've also never been afraid to send other personal pics when requested and I do have a webcam for the same purpose. Though you'll never see the one my son took of me when I got out of bed first thing in the morning. I figure if you want to see what I look like after a night in bed...you need to commit. | |
