| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 9/27/2007 7:08:01 PM | | Yeah, my pics are me, current and the real thing. The only problem is that people say I need some of me "in action" but I'm the designated photographer in the family so that is a little complicated. | |

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 9/28/2007 1:44:48 AM | I have had a few say I look like or better than my picture.
I have meet three that looked like or better than their pictures and I've meet 1 that looked worse than their picture by miles. Can't say anything other than that, I've only meet 4 people total from these sites.

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/2/2007 10:59:43 PM | I post current pics of my self first. The farther right you go on my pictures, the older the picture. Current---> oldest.
I want people to have a good idea of what I look like so I do not falsely represent myself.

Maybe if I use some crayons and draw a picture on my it will look more like me!!!
P.S. I am already working on growing it back cause my chin is cold as all git out with the extra fuzz on it!!!

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/7/2007 11:28:51 AM | I think I look like my photos, except I do wear glasses and rarely have my picture taken with them on. Theonly comment I hear when people meet me is "Oh, I didn't realize you wore glasses!" To which I reply: "All the better to see you with my dear!!!" Sandee | |

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/10/2007 7:33:58 AM | I pretty much look like my pics. I have lost weight since taking some of them and only one is about 5 years old. I use it on my business card. The recent one I had taken for the business card is photoshopped, she took about 10 years off and I don't like the thing. Most say I look better than the pics. I don't think a picture should be the end all of deciding whether to meet someone or not. Personal charisma doesn't show in a picture. Some people are not photogenic. Some people are not photographers.
I look at some of the guys pictures in here and think, he is ONLY 45 (insert whatever age)?!! Somewhere in my mind I thought men aged better than us ladies, orrrrr, is he misstating his age? On this site, so far those I have met look pretty much like their picture. One fellow on another site must have posted a picture from 20 years ago! Yikes, I ran for the hills! Well, toward the hills, there are no hills around these coastal plains.

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/11/2007 10:50:31 AM | Well I haven't met a single woman... err, any woman... off POF. But I look exactly like me, same hair cut same ugly mug same everything. The pic on my profile of me with the helicopter was taken August 2006 at my club's flying field and it's actually the most recent photo I have... I don't really care for posing for photo's very much. There's about 1 year time between each of my pics I guess. I've changed very little I think.
Oh I no longer use the hula-hoop on the helicopter btw. I graduated from training gear around January of this year and now can't recall exactly why I ever needed that thing... LOL!
The last woman I met for dinner in Humble about 2 months ago was from Craig's List and she had put on a good 50lbs or so since the photo she'd sent me.... she was still pretty, but alot heavier than her pic. And it turns out she'd lied about her age and was actually some 6 years older than she'd claimed to be online which made for 1 hell of an awkward moment when she admitted that to me.... there was no recovery from that I'm afraid. I left the restaurant not even wanting to be friends with her after that. I can't stand it when people lie about shit.
Regards!

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/12/2007 5:19:48 PM | A short story here:
After being online for a while and way before POF.... a gentleman friend emailed me and told me of running across the woman of his dreams!!! He even shared the pic she sent him! Now, being the picture hound that I am, I really appreciated him doing that. However, it was very awkward to realize that the pic she had sent him was the VERY same one of a lady who KODAK included in the software SAMPLES! I received several emails from him telling me how excited he was that he was finally going to meet the woman he had always drempt of.... What was I to do? Tell him the truth and risk our friendship? I did try to tell him because I was his friend... but... LUST has it's own way as it turns out, they had their meeting and.... well she wasnt the model for KODAK!!!!!
Im not a friend to being in front of the camera... but I've attended enough POF parties now and I think anyone can attest that my pics are me.. no matter how awful they are!!!!

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/13/2007 9:16:51 AM | I think you should have given him a "heads-up" about that gal Shende! There's no way letting him know her pic was fake would have affected your friendship with him, and it might have saved him a bad date experience.
I would have wanted to know!

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/15/2007 9:40:20 AM | A nice fellow & I started to talk on the phone. My pic is a glamour shot 5 years ago. I also took newer ones.... Not a glamour shot. I took them sunday morning impromtu. Nothing fancy.. I'm not a dog. I send him the pics and he asked me who was in the Pics. I replied ME. He wrote back and said I was 20 lbs over weight and the pics on I line are 20 years old. He said I should not post pics on the websites that aren't real. First of all. I am 5'8 and a size 12. I wrote him. A 12 my ex was a size 6. If she was my height she had to be a bone. I had talked to him for hours on the phone and had alot in common. I was crushed by what he said. I told him Hey I look better in person. He said You can't look any different from your pic. How insecure was I ... Very. I had to ask the two men I met (which are friends of mine) & ask them do I look like my pic. A nice face is good.. But I'm not a liar.... Just thought no one looks beyond the face? Especially when you talk...... and get along. At least be friends.. don't strike out. I guess in Sanger they teach them too be rude. He's not a nice fellow anymore to me. | |

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/15/2007 1:57:15 PM | | I agree, some people should get an updated picture as they don't look anything like it in real life. I don't like pictures of myself. I guess it’s like looking at your own reflection in the mirror, or listening to your own voice. I have had ladies on two separate occasions approach me at the shopping mall because they recognised me from the internet. It’s quite scary when they know who you are, but you don't know them. To all those people who hide behind there Picture-less profiles, please play fair and stick a picture up. We are out there for the world to see, so you should be to. Oh yes, another thing, I hate those glamour pictures, anyone can hide behind makeup, blurry lenses and lighting. | |

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/17/2007 8:40:45 PM | There is only so much on a picture, anyway. I have to admit I don't actively participate much any more. However, I really put the emphasis on personality and social graces. I think the chances of meeting somebody that looks like their picture is a lot greater than someone who has a well-balanced personality. Dallas seems to totally dwarf men as to a normal, progressive social development. I met one that looked like his picture but did he ever flunk the personality section. | |

| Does Anyone Actually Look Like Their Pics? Posted: 10/31/2007 10:05:02 AM | I almost hate to chime in on this one. I've met 6 women from POF and so far, only one has looked like her pic and one other was kind of close. I'll also say this, guys (me definitely included) will probably lie to you if you ask them if you look like your pic and you don't. It's a lot easier to just say "yes, you look like your pic" and finish up the date as quickly as possible than say "No, you don't look like your pic" and have to go into a lot of uncomfortable conversation about it. If you really want to know, email the person after the date - they are far more likely to be upfront about it then. There's nothing worse than meeting someone from the internet out and not even recognizing them when you meet in person. I have had this happen 4 times where the person did NOT remotely look like their pic - it's a really bad way to start a date. It's also very rare that someone looks better than their pic but it does happen - out of 15 dates, I've met one girl that looked better than her pic and that was because she had dropped about 20 pounds - so there's your guideline - if you've lost weight since your pics were taken and the pics are pretty current - then you may look better than you pics but otherwise, likely not. I know for a fact that guys are just as bad as girls about putting up old pics. Also, there's seems to be a discrepancy between about average, a few extra pounds, and BBW/M/whatever. I think a good guideline is that imagine the weight where you think you look your absolute best and if you're 5-20 pounds past that you're probably about average, 20-40 past that a few extra pounds, and anything over 50 is definitely BBW.
It's always smart to be realistic about pics - it's okay to take 4 pics and put up the best one - Hell, that's human nature. It's not okay to take your best pic from 4 years ago and put that one and three other old ones up. A lot of time we think we still look like we did 3 years ago but, we don't. Put up about 4 pics that are less than 5 months old (preferably less than 3). I learned the hard way to always ask for recent pics - if the person can't send recent pics then assume the worse. That's my two cents...who wants cake?
