During my work week, it would be "Sanatarium" by Metallica (cause you have to be crazy to be in my line of work). During my weekends it can be a whole range of songs from "The Spicy McHaggis Jig" by The Dropkick Murphys, or "Drunken Lullibies" by Flogging Molly.

I'm ready to give it back to 'em

I feel sure I probably have some of those little plastic thingys that go in the center of 45's to hold them on the turntable......somewhere!! Actually I have hundreds of 45's so I'm almost certain that some of those "things" would have to be around too.

Posted: 3/30/2007 4:08:59 PM | Today I've been extremely fortunate to have the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Look at Little Sister" playing in my head... guess that's my song for the day. There's a great live rendition on YouTube ~ SRV playing with Jeff Healey. Video quality is pretty bad; sound quality's much better...

He is another "little different" type artist that is also good. He recently went gospel, and only gospel. His new CD is "Turn Around" and it is good, too.

Ps.ps. ~Sea are you talking about the holder that you could stack about 3 of the '45's on? ................no, I'm talking about the little black thing that you slip over the center spindle in the center of the turntable that makes the hole in the 45 record fit so you can play it, do you know what I am talking about now? LOL. If not I will try and explain further.

| What song best describes your personality? Posted: 3/31/2007 3:28:11 AM | First song playing when I got up this morning...
Eddie Money - Think I'm In Love
Doesn't describe me but it's definitely one of the rock, dancing hits of the eighties
Followed by
Rick Springfield - Jesse's Girl
Another eighties rocker
Can you tell I prefer rock 'n roll?

| What song best describes your personality? Posted: 3/31/2007 4:29:45 AM | Sea, What you're talking about is the record stacking hub. It allowed more than one 45 to be put in position at a time, and then dropped it when the changing arm did it's thing. You could stack up to 10 records at a time. Mine sometimes wouldn't cooperate though, and too many records would drop, or they would only drop part way. I was really "up town" when my parents bought me a record player with a built in adapter. All you had to do was twist it one way to raise it and play your 45s, and then lower it to play the 33 1/3 albums (some of which I still have). My mom still has a cabinet stereo in working condition!
Rkick, I, too, prefer the 70's and 80's rock n roll over anything today! "I love rock and roll, put another dime in the jukebox, baby! I love rock and roll, come on take some time and dance with me!"

"I love rock and roll, put another dime in the jukebox, baby! I love rock and roll, come on take some time and dance with me!"
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
"I love Rock N' Roll"
I saw him dancin' there by the record machine I knew he must a been about seventeen The beat was goin' strong Playin' my favorite song An' I could tell it wouldn't be long Till he was with me, yeah me, singin'
I love rock n' roll So put another dime in the jukebox, baby I love rock n' roll So come an' take your time an' dance with me
He smiled so I got up and' asked for his name That don't matter, he said, 'Cause it's all the same
Said can I take you home where we can be alone
An' next we were movin' on He was with me, yeah me
Next we were movin' on He was with me, yeah me, singin'
I love rock n' roll So put another dime in the jukebox, baby I love rock n' roll So come an' take your time an' dance with me
Said can I take you home where we can be alone
An we'll be movin' on An' singin' that same old song Yeah with me, singin'
I love rock n' roll So put another dime in the jukebox, baby I love rock n' roll So come an' take your time an' dance with me

He recently went gospel, and only gospel. His new CD is "Turn Around" and it is good, too I do like Johnny Lang. "Lie To Me" was a great song ~ what talent that young man has! I'm listening to his song "Red Light" now. I was fortunate enough to see SRV at the Volunteer Jam 13 1987 in Tennessee. That was a great show ~ Lynard Skynard started their Tribute Tour... I'm an old rocker; Southern rocker at that! I grew up on 96 Rock and now would be lost without my Sirius Satellite Radio! Being stuck listening to today's "stars" is my own private idea of hell.
PS: Skunk... My secret emoticons... they're MINE!

| What song best describes your personality? Posted: 3/31/2007 6:46:30 AM | Tea, When I lived in Jax, Fla., and was going to college, if I timed it right I could listen to 38 Special practice while I sat at one particularly long red light. Then when I went to work at an insurance office in the area near where I lived, I rode right by the house that the Van Zandt brothers grew up in! I still have my t-shirt, worn and faded, from the Lynard Skynard tribute tour in 87. Saw them again in 93 or 94. Then, I dated a guy after my divorce that toured with Stevie Ray for a bit. I met several blues musicians through him.
ooo, another good one is "Total Eclipse of the Heart"...love that song! But yeah, I feel your pain on the "today's music." I can listen to today's light rock on a particular station here, because it's still mixed with some of the old stuff, but as far as the rest of that goes..well, let's just say I'm glad there are several stations from which to choose! I have XM at home, but not in my car.
