I'm an Irish-American. How's that? All my relatives came here on the boat from Ireland. Ever hear of Ellis Island? If not, do some research on it. It's pretty neat.

I very seldom drink and I've always had blonde hair until I got older. So yes, there is blonde Irish woman and men. My brothers had blonde hair also.

I'm fiesty and love to have fun and I'm a great lover :-)

The Irish rule!!!...lol

Naturally very little body hair from what I've heard. Men dont start shaving until they're 30, no chest hair, women are similar, soft skin, whispy hair, and spirited :)

9. Drinking is never a problem, even if its a problem
8. The wearin O the green, takes on whole new meaning
7. That accent sounds even better when she’s angry
6. She likes to say things like, “I count me lucky stars”
5. You never have to go to parties because your always at one.
4. If your not doing it right she throws you down and gives you what for.
3. Its’ okay to yell at your mother in law, since everyone’s fighting she probably won’t hear you anyway.
2. Shamrocks are cheaper then roses

I know we drink like fish's

I don't respect women who drink excessively. It shows disregard for their body, and I would never date someone who drinks like a fish.

Women drinking beer regularly is also a turn off for me. Even though I am a bloke, I can't stand beer. I hate the taste, and people always seem surprised when I turn down offers of a cold one. I'd be no good going to Ireland to meet girls if they are big drinkers.

What is the hype about the Irish?

The hype about the Irish has been very well illustrated in this thread. I was born and bred in the Claddagh, Galway, have travelled the world extensively, have an open mind and am sickened to the core with many of the comments/ posts that I have read on these four pages by those of you of Irish descent...........Do you people really know anything of what it is to BE Irish or to live in modern Ireland ? Obviously not methinks.............

I am proud to be FROM Ireland, an Irish speaker, a part of Ireland and to contribute to the Irish economy but in my heart I am a mariner and that makes me a citizen of the world.....

Somebody a long time ago whilst visiting Ireland and commenting on an indigenous people in their homeland wrote: "May the Lord have mercy on the Irish for he did make them mad, for all their wars are merry and all their songs are sad". Maybe this has been misconstrued and in turn has given rise to the crazy and loutish reputation that the Irish have been labelled with throughout the years.

Seanick,
I think your getting the wrong idea my friend. People in the states are very proud of their particular heritage. They know their not from there, but they enjoy knowing a part of them is and they go to great lengths to portray themselves in the light of their ancestry. Yes, we also poke fun at these particular stereotypes as well, but do be assured it is out of respect and love. What you have to remember is that very few of us actually have ancestry that is based here in the states, so we all take pride in our culture and yours.
Embrace it my friend, it should be an honor to you and your country men to know that we respect you and honor those that made the journey here to be a part of our country.

Was he American by chance? The crazy and loutish reputation that the Irish have been labelled with comes from when most of the so called natives of America took a dislike to the Irish when they tried to flee Ireland during the potato famine.
Though after this because of the shear number of Irish in America, the more clever American politicians realised they would be handy in swinging the vote in their favour so they offered them insentives like making the Saint Patricks day parade a big event and offering them a better quality of life.

Thats a very shortened version of the story lol

Only the "yanks" call it "gaelic" here its known as Irish, just the same as in the USA you speak English, and spell different to the rest of the world. its Irish we speak, "sin sin".
To hear an american call us "gaelic speakers" is a gross insult. hence the "yank" comments you get in return if you pull it while here.
just a friendly heads up.

In the ancient Irish (Celtic, Gaelic cultures) culture the men and women were always essentially equal. Their roles were not the same, but in the descion making process, ownership, and personal rights....... pretty equal, and that has given the Irish decent women an inherent sence of self worth that is most attractive.

And then ......They look fabulous in plaid, often have red hair and freckles and are pretty damned precosious..........................All attractive.

To be blunt, I really dont care, but if a hot Irish female is down to date brothas (particularly me) then I dont think I'm gonna sit up there and complain. Then again, if a hot female of any nationality is down, I wouldn't complain.

I'm like Baskin Robbins, I dig all flavors.
