Posted: 3/16/2007 1:32:23 AM | I check occasionally to see who looked at my profile but I don't read anything into it. People can tell if I looked at their profile but I hardly ever do. I rather talk to people on the forums and at the events.  | |

I check profiles that have checked me to read on them, if not totally out of my age range.
But then, also wonder why the same people keep checking on my profile yet NEVER message me......STRANGE

Actually I don't think that the "viewed me" section is deleting the people who have looked at you properly so it appears that they are looking every day. The wording on that page is confusing to me, it says it tracks for only 24 hours and mentions that they will eventually set it up to delete after 7 days. If it tracks for only 24 hours then shouldn't people disappear after just one day and be no need to remove them after 7 days?
Also, if you click the help link on your mail settings page where you can hide yourself from that list it makes it even more confusing. Strangely worded there.
Still kinda neat though. | |

I believe that it is supposed to help bring people togeather as in breaking the ice or a flirt. If you are truly here to meet someone you do a search,check your matches or attend a function. With viewed me you know that you either came up in someone`s search, were listed by this site as a matchfor them and they looked up your profile. This has been going on a long time before the "viewed me" option was added. Now the only difference is that YOU know that they are researching you and if you find them interesting you have the option of making the first move and contacting them. who ever is the more aggressive of the two will contact first as is done in real life. NO this does not mean that the person looking at you is smitten or that you have to respond if you are not intrested. This option is just a tool. Use it. | |

But now, just because I am hosting an event, and lots of people got invites, I have TONS of guys checking out my profile.. Which is kind of weird to me, but I guess now they know what I look like when they come. lol  | |

I've actually had more guts to contact a few of the gentlemen that have viewed me and their profiles matched some of what I'm looking for. Someone viewing you doesn't really mean much since it is no indication as to whether they found anything interesting about your profile, lol. However, it frequently gives me a chance to check out some people who wouldn't have come up on one of my regular searches. If a profile catches my attention (and I have time for a quick message), I'll drop them a line. I'm not that shy, lol.
Most of the views I get seem to be people who browse the forums and are just checking out certain posters. Heck, there are plenty of people who I view because I read one of their posts and wanted to see who they were (which is also why it really means nothing that people of the same sex have been checking you out if you're a poster, lol). Actually, the "Viewed Me" in conjunction with the forums seems to really broaden the horizons.
I should totally check out what gals have been viewing me (I think I've guessed what the trick is). It would be interesting. And since my main goal here is to make new friends, a way to see a few new fellow gals, in addition to the guys, would be nice. | |

The people who view me are people from the Forums as my profile is hidden. They certainly are NOT interested in dating me, they are just seeing who wrote the post they read.
As for people who have got the feature turned off having something to hide....oh
PUH-LEASE. We all have different reasons for keeping our viewing private and I doubt any of us have dishonorable motives for doing so. | |

I too realize that the majority of my "viewers" are probably people just checking out who wrote a post, so I don't take it as a come on, or even necessarily as a compliment.... could be a "who is this nut-case??" query!!
I thought about turning off the feature.. but did not see the point, I don't care if anyone knows I've read their profile.
