If the person is interested they will contact you otherwise you think they are just checking you out and decided they did not like what was on the menu. And yes people of the same sex do check out each other, it's called sizing up the competition. | |

It's why I'm here, after all. I think it's all amazing to take in who looked, and actually I don't feel stalked at all, because this is all anonymous. In fact, I would be very comfortable with someone who considered their approach for a while, before taking the plunge into further contact.
I don't interpret frequent views as meaning anything too serious. It could be taken as flattering, even. After just a little while on here, there are some people that I think of as regulars because I see their pictures so often between fave lists and so on (um, you would have to be living in a smaller centre of 100K pop as I do to experience POF that way) and if something on their profile changes, I go have a look. Some people I click on because they keep coming up on all the different ways of searching (personality types, et cetera) and I'm figuring out why.
The only reason I do my own so-called "stalking" in stealth mode is because of the simple truth the guys are bigger and have a lot more lean mass than I do and the somewhat bigger risk that I might be actually recognized in the smaller community where I live (not that I don't love this place!)
I just came to this thread because I was trying to figure out what was meant by "People who viewed you sorted by when they were last online. The rest of the page is sorted by when they visited your profile." -- I'd be happy if the feature just did what was described by Sentence One and could see more of that (the last 20 or 30?), because it tells you something about the activity going on and gives you quicker feedback about what might be working with your picture or profile.
The history part of the feature is less interesting because it's old news, no? | |

This is a dating site after all. How are member's going to find other members if they can't view a profile?
I don't put any stock in a person being interested in me just because they've viewed me. It means nothing, the same as when you're walking down the street or sitting on the subway and someone looks at you.
What I do wish about was that no members could show that they've viewed a profile and... if they were interested in a profile they'd viewed they could acknowledge the other person some way. And I wish I could make a folder of profiles I'm interested in for whatever reason. These are features LL has, plus others. | |

It must be my age...guys in this catagory sure don't think I like them just because I've viewed them. At first I turned it off and then I thought , hey, I like seeing who's checking me out so why not extend the same courtesy. Most of them are just looky-loos. Since October I have only managed to entice 4 guys to meet with me. Only one actually contacted me first . I dated him for a month but he had an addiction problem that I surely couldn't live with or fix. It has been interesting viewing with some correspondence thrown in to keep it all happening.
Keep on looking... you never know what you'll find.

And I'm well aware that just because someone views my profile, it doesn't necessarily mean that person wants to "connect" with me. It may just be that I said something or expressed an opinion in the forums that piqued their interest, and they checked my profile merely to put whatever it was I said into perspective. I do this myself and not just exclusively for women's profiles either. Honestly, I'm just someone who's interested in other people and what makes them tick.
The other reason I know that just because someone viewed me doesn't necessarily mean they want to meet up with me is because when I check out who viewed me, I've seen a few profiles of women who have a stated age range preferrence for messaging them -- and I clearly fall outside those parameters. Now in most cases, you have to read a person's profile before you find out their age. But in my case, I think my picture to the left combined with my username gives a pretty good clue as to my age. | |
