also a good ol country boy, more work in the morning and night then what i do at "work" its sad. and pisses the people off that complain that work is to much. | |

Posted: 3/18/2007 5:47:11 PM | | Had NO idea ....just wanted to get through high school! After that I had absolutely no idea! It is one of those things that "I wish I knew then what I know now". That is one thing that I did give my kids. Every day I told them that they could be anything they wanted to be. Just set a point and make it happen. And if it doesn't, you got a lot further than your mom did...don't sit crying in your soup....go on an make another goal....never give up...never be afraid....never listen to those who tell you ...you can't. | |

Posted: 3/18/2007 6:20:13 PM | ^^^^^^^^^^ speaking as someone who knows their mom..............I'd say you have come further than most and your kids should be proud. Ryn48=epitome of class, grace, style - not to mention-friendly, considerate, non-judmental, open-minded, intelligent and fun-loving.
.....I think every parent wants their kids to go further, do more, see more, be happier and more well-adjusted, be more successful, etc, etc. etc....Geez!!! I guess you are normal (heaven forbid lol).
O/T ... I wanted to be an orthodontist, and a snowbird pilot or skyhawk parachutist! (may not have those careers but I HAVE got a pilot's licence and I HAVE been skydiving 3 times so I guess I fulfilled some of my dreams to a somewhat altered extent) | |

I see the fascination and detail in everything, so it's been really hard for me to decide to find THE thing and work towards it. I want to know it all. I only figured out what I really wanted to do last year. | |

One with each other. Balance and harmony in my universe. The sound of one hand clapping (without having to flush the toilet or turn on the shower *wink wink, nudge nudge*)

When you were growing up, did you have a vision of what you wanted to be, what you wanted to do with your life? Or did you not know what you wanted to be or do? Did you have a dream and change it? Did you grow up to be what you wanted to be?
I wanted to be a mommy. I was 5 when my grandfather asked me that question. He told me it was a really good thing to aspire too. Now, I am one. | |

Posted: 9/13/2008 7:49:05 AM | A veterinarian. Then I discovered you had to have better marks than being a doctor to get into the school. So then I wanted to be a veterinary assistant, but on the first day of college discovered I would be 100% employable as a lab tech whereas according to the department head only 5% of the vet assistant wanna-bees got jobs in their fields.
As a child I wanted to be an artist, and in that regard I did satisfy some of that by designing and building stained glass for others.
At another time I wanted to be a biologist/herpetologist/entomologist, and in many regards I have learned about the environment, plants/birds/animals/insects/reptiles by being involved with wildlife, collecting, having exotic pets and reading a lot of books and going to seminars/lectures on them. Along those lines I almost changed careers and went into renewable resources (forest ranger) in my late 20's.

I didn't want to be the Hoff or anything, but I wanted to have a job where I'd drive around in a cool, super-fast car that could talk and also do jumps with the touch of a button and solve crimes for some kind of private company that doesn't seem to answer to any higher authority.
I checked the Free Press classifieds this morning.
Still, no such job postings :( | |

Posted: 9/15/2008 7:05:50 AM | I wanted to be a politician/lawyer thanks to my mother and teachers. I had all these wonderful ideas of changing the world and making a difference. Getting paid to argue and debate was just a bonus feature.
Then, I wanted to be a scientist of some kind. I wanted to find out why things did the things they did...
Then in my 20's and still to this day, I'd like to be a conservation officer. Something about being paid to be out at the lake all summer is very appealing. | |
