| Tattoos Posted: 4/4/2007 8:10:23 PM | ^^^^^^^^^^^^ROFLMAO
So when you dry off do the tats end up back in the same place or do you play musical tats?
Nice piece of information to know since I've been rackin my brain how not to get my tat wet in the shower. Times like this I wish I had a tub and not just a shower.
Fellow tatties, any ideas on keepin the tat dry or is it such a bad thing to get it wet when it is still fresh???

| Tattoos Posted: 4/4/2007 8:14:52 PM | | I got one of a phoenix (designed by me and my tattoo artist) on my lower back a few months after my husband died and just before returning to school. Very symbolic - starting a new life out of the ashes of what came before. What came before gives me strength and has helped shape who I am, yet it often feels like I am living a different life now. | |

Scab pickin...that's just nasty...My first 2 tats never scabbed up so I'm hoping this one will be the same.
Thanks Thumper for grossing me out!!! Good thing the tat is on my shoulder.
So what moisturizer is the best? Can you use polysporin or will that wreck the tat?

| Tattoos Posted: 4/4/2007 8:23:44 PM | I like anything lubriderm, but anything works...the less perfume the better...

| Tattoos Posted: 4/5/2007 5:32:05 PM | It's so funny, I know I've talked about it in this thread already..summer is the worst time to get a tatty as sun and chlorine etc. are mortal enemies of fresh ink. Even knowing this though, I am so ready for another one..lol. Not quite summer but it usually takes me a month or two to make the appt. after my minds made up. Good on ya Sherness..can't wait to see it! | |

My roots are Sisika, Blackfoot....I plan on finding a tribal piece also but I need to find meaning before I have it tattooed. i want something that depicts and honours my deceased husband and brother....
It's true what they say "if you get one, you'll want another...."

| Tattoos Posted: 4/6/2007 9:49:49 AM | I have 6... most are tiny though.
1). An infinity symbol on the inside of my right ankle with mine and a friend of over 20 years now first initials in the loops.
2). A gecko. No, not GEICO lmaoooooo! That one was spontaneous as I was with a friend who was getting the top of her foot tattooed. I decided on him cause I love Maui and when I've been in my life, those cute lil guys are all over. I named him Lu for 'luau'. He's on the inside of the other ankle.
3). An Aids ribbon on the right side of my gut. It has initials of two close friends I've lost over the years although it's kind of a blur at this point, so am looking to do a coverup job on that one.
4). A ying yang sun I designed on my left shoulder.
5). The rose from the cover of the Depeche Mode album 'Violator'. I got that on my 26th birthday two days after seeing them in concert. That one is just above my butt crack heehee.
6). My wrist tattoo which I got done June 12th of last year. Two celtic phoenixes. This one holds special meaning as it represents my parents who over the course of my life have repeatedly 'risen above their own ashes'.
My dad has cancer and won't be with us much longer. I'd always wanted the celtic phoenix (from a pendant I saw online 6 years ago)... but just didn't know how or where. It wasn't till a visit to see my dad last May who was already not doing well that I finally figured it out. My best friend who's an amazing artist did the artwork for me and the tattoo artist gave his added touch to make sure it would look good on skin. I had a bit of anxiety over having one so visible to me all the time, but now I love it!
I really want another one and am pondering ideas. It will be another DM tattoo... but again, I'm not sure exactly what or where on my body. It's a work in progress lol.
