But..
Several posters have mentioned it would facillitate stalkers. Which is why I might use it. If it gets someone stalking me I'm in favour of it. | |

Not every idea is a great idea, not every idea is a bad idea. Sometimes you don't know how it will all play out until you see it at work.
Like the testimonial systems. I think it's an interesting feature. You can kind of gauge if someone was or is willing to go on a date through this site and you can get a feel for how long they have been on this site. Unfortunately I think the testimonial system has pretty much eliminated many women from ever adding males to their favorites list. If you add someone and they get jilted that you don't want to date them, some will leave a nasty testimonial. You can remove the testimonial because of the risk of abuse like that, but the ability to choose your testimonials then only leave good feedback and no bad feedback. So does it really help if a person has ten wonderful reviews but no one will ever see the three really unhappy ones? If fewer women have fewer men on their favorites list, that will probably mean, in the long haul, men will receive even fewer first contacts from women than ever before.
Each feature is going to come with a tradeoff like that. A little help, a little hurt. Like I said, until it kind of finds a life of it's own, who knows where the long term impact will be. | |

Posted: 3/20/2007 10:36:45 PM | It's not a bad idea ... just don't know if it's gonna fly yet. I can see where having the ability to select and show 3 other members as being among your all time fav's would seem to complicate matters for more than a few folks.
And that would seem to be the point of the voting box on the first page of this Post.
Myself, I'm indifferent to adding friends ... just not my thing, although that might change one day. I just hope no one thinks I'm any less real, genuine or hiding something simply because I haven't participated.
I've seen a few examples of the Fish-Nic thing though ... It's kinda cute (if you like green)
Now, if there were a paint brush tool for drawing beard and mustache on our favorites pic ... that would be reason enough for me to add some.

I've tried to be creative in my profile and registered in "Other Relationships", in my opinion is a mixture of any relationship category so it basically covers everything. Most women look at it as intimate I think because of results and put it in mail settings. Testimonials, if people read them, might help clear up this confusion. Other features in profile views that would be helpful; "ON Line Now" and "Already a Favorite" and "Conact Again" as I seem to have to go looking to find these things out. This seems to be a fun site and equally frusterating. Happy fishing to all. Rick | |

Like many others previously, I state that this newest feature is one that I will not be using. The obvious reason is that every individual likes to think that he/she is the most important to another-- marking only 3 as "favorite friend" would not be conducive to a healthy relationship--cyber or other. Now, as to another posters idea of rotating people around as a "spotlight" sort of thing-- something to think about.
Keep up the good work.
