Posted: 5/30/2007 11:58:05 AM | Hello, truffles, I have known Ron for a few months now, and have gotten to know him like a close friend, even a brother. So for you to understand him better, and help him with his profile, (since he was brave enough to ask for help!!), let me please add this prospective.
Ron,(in my opinion), is in his own mind, and heart "ready" for a relationship. He wants, so badly to have someone to share his life with, on a daily basis. He wants a women who wants "Him" as badly as he wants "a partner". Ron is attracted to outgoing, confident women, yet most women our age, who are single and have those qualities, are smothered by Ron's attentivness. Ron would be better off with someone who will "wrap their whole world around him", as he want to do for them.
I agree that the focus of his profile being about his previous marraige, and Son, give no insite to who he is now, and this makes him makes him less- interesting. He should be commenting on what he wants from the women he finds, and what he has to offer. This is a man who, goes out dancing, mixes well in crowds, is personable to talk to, is a good listner, a helpful "team player". He loves people, in general, accepts women who have children, has a good relationship with his Mother, works hard, and still makes time for friends.
We all have shortcomings, and Ron's would have to be that he cares for others, before looking out for himself. He's welcome at my home anytime, and is one of the first people I contact when planning activities with other POR'ers. I'd love to see him find that "special someone". I agree he need to try not to "fall in Love", so quickly.
Please take another look at this request for assistance on his Profile, you seem to be able to pull "Rabbits out of Hats", for many of those who have written to you on this site. Thank You Truffles for reconsidering ..................But............deleting profile is not an option. Before joining POF I only had a couple of close friends, I have met so many more since being on here. This is where we keep in touch and have plenty of fun in the forums. If I were to find that special one I would put an update saying I was only here to keep in touch with those friends, and looking for more.

Truffles, have you noticed in your travels thru life that some people need to be pinned down as to what they are "really asking for"? This may be one of those situations..here goes..... Dear Ron,this is Kimmie You must not have been paying attention when he was reading and writing on this site!! Once again, without offending you, please let me assist.
Ron, you wrote in on this site to ask for help....? If that is true, you can't defend "why you did it the way you originally did"..you need to find the good in what Truffles is offering you (for free I might add), and "WORK IT BOY!!! TILL YOU MAKE IT WORK!!
My opinion.
Keep the pic, use the one of you alone as the lead as Truffles suggested, you can always add others on the bottom of a personal E-mail when it would apply to something you are writing about. I understand from time to time, many of us switch pics, to ones that relate to something we are writing in on a forum, yet only leave them on there for the day and then go back to Head shot.
Change the " just looking" to READY FOR LOVE,(again as Truffles suggested) it IS what you want isn't it???
Add more to the INTEREST catagory, there is sooooo much more to you than the few things you mentioned. Why did you slouch on that part of the profile? That is where a Lady who thinks she might want to meet you figures out what she would be "doing with you", if she chose to spend time with you.
Re-work the "ABOUT ME", eliminate the lengthy explination of what was bad about your marriage, you can spill the beans about all that after you and the lady you want to know that stuff, are both,"pouring out all your stuff". Add more about yourself , and who you are NOW.
It is OK to be proud of your son, we are all proud of our kids. I believe if our children are doing well with their lives as adults, then we did a great job of being parents. And that will also come out when you "spill the stuff". Remember it is YOUR PROFILE,
Not your Son's.
Ron, you are a Dear Man, yet you can't get diffrent fish to bite, unless you "switch the bait on your hook". Have you ever opened a well stocked fishing tackle box, and seen it filled with all the same kind and size of hooks, or flys etc? would you use the same bait out in the ocean as you would in the back waters, or on a lake? Then why continue with the same profile, if you aren't catching the prize you are looking for.

My ex-husband used to call me "Little-but-Mighty", and I'm thankful that he saw me that way. We are still friends-he's also a Virgo-like You!!
I'll have admit, I won't give up on Ron, He's my friend, and I make friends for life-my ex-husband is an example of that!!
And, I'll have to agree with you on Revan75-one of my 3 Daughters could drag him home for dinner anytime.
Ravan, you'll have to come down to Venice Pier and join us for Fishing, or come to one of the Partys we have here in Port Charlotte once a month(for POF members).
Truffles, I've been living out of state for over 10 yrs-so, refresh my memory please, where is Dunedin? How far are you from sw fla? You should consider joining us some time as well! I'm setting up the "forum" for our June party today!
What form of writing do you do? What possessed you to start this Forum??? I'll be keeping in touch-and look forward to the answers to my question!

Dunedin is actually a little village located on the gulf surrounded by Clearwater
and Palm Harbor....about 25 mi west of Tampa
I guess I started this forum cause so many people are clueless when it
comes to writing about them selves and about posting pictures..
I Have been a writer for newspapers and magazines for many years,
and understand the power of advertising and Americans short attention spans,
and lately their inability to read and comprehend.
So I thought I would lend a hand..
most people have been lovely, and genuinely appreciated my suggestions
others what can I say have been downright rude.
Either way I have a thick skin and dont let it get to me..figuring if just one person benefits its been worth the trouble.
I am a widow and have been dating via the internet for 5 yrs..I have had hundreds of meeting dates with men 25 to 70..and I still cant find Mr. right either.
sure there has been a couple of Mr rightnows, but that elusive honest man,
is yet to appear.

boy do you need new pix....your main one is silly
the rest dont show the world just how pretty and shapely you are
if you have a camera phone take a nice smiling head shot
comb your hair put on makeup
and have one taken of you full size... one you can actually see in shorts or a swimsuit
and thats it no more just 2 good ones..and take several ..pic ..the 2 best use them
DO YOU THINK MODELS TAKE JUST ONE PIC.???.HE.LL NO THEY TAKE HUNDREDS TO GET ONe MAGAZINE SHOT AND THEN AIRBRUSH THAT..!!
