Unless I'm sick, I go once a day and it's inevitably at home in the morning.
Once a day?!!! You need to eat more fibre lady! LOL Sick for me is only going once a day. 
During that time, the guys made such a production of it - "Hey, if you need to use the can, do it now, 'cause I'm going to be in there for a while"
LOL ya thats a guy thing... most of us like to read on the toilet.
The other reason for the warning is that they know what its going to smell like after so they are giving you all a chance to pee before they stink it up. | |

My step son on the other hand I have tried to teach himthis value but to no luck. I tell him about all the germs(and his is very afraid of germs but those ones don't bother him). I know when I'm in a public restroom and I go #2 I count how many guys come in and out and how many at least run the water to where you think they washed their hands. It is a very disgusting habit especially when you shake another guys hand and know he didn't wash them. I would say by my counts the % of men who don't is from 50%-65%. I hope this helped you. | |

I have seen tons of men not wash their hands, but I would say more than half do. I can't comment on the women since I cannot go to women restrooms to observe. | |

A recent study concluded that women carry more germs then men. One of the reasons they sited was because of a woman's purse. Ladies, where do you sit your purse down at when you go for a tinkle? Perhaps on the restroom floor? I am sure some of you do and then take it out and sit it on the sink while your washing your hands. The study indicated that a large amount of fecal material could be found on the bottom of womens purses. The women then take the purse with them the rest of the day and sit it in a wide varity of places. Women, have you washed the bottoms of your purses lately? | |

That's gross.
We did an interesting experiment recently in microbiology class.
I wrapped my hand (wearing a latex glove btw) in toilet paper (in much the same way as if I was about to do a "number 2") and dipped the toilet-papered fingers in a plate of bacterium (E-coli) - I was careful not to get any bacterium in direct contact with my hand.
Then I removed the toilet paper and touched the fingers (which at no time contacted any bacteria directly) to an agar plate - to grow in a culture. If they had no bacteria, nothing would grow. If they had some bacteria, I'd see a small amount of growth.
I grew MASSIVE cultures. The toilet paper offered no barrier at all. If you relieve yourself in either way, your hand is covered in whatever microbes/bacteria you got down there. If you pee'd or poo'd directly onto your hand, there would be little difference.

Posted: 3/24/2007 1:09:02 AM | First off folks, urine is sterile when it leaves your body. If you get some on your hands it is not "gross". Now poop on the other hand. Other hand, get it?
Anyway, after going #1. No, I dont wash my hands. But at 42 years of age, I have mastered the art of peeing without getting it on me.
As for #2, I NEVER poop in public restrooms. I would mess my pants first.
When traveling, I pull over and go in the woods. I always keep plenty of toilet paper in my truck.
And yes, I keep hand wipes in the truck too.
I used to work a gas station when I was a teen and had to clean the restrooms and let me tell you. Women are nasty!!!! The womens bathrooms were horrible. | |

the nurse in me is just cringing here.
Men and women take the 2 minutes and wash your hands!!!
I cannot tell you at work how many times I have to remind grown adults (In a hospital no less where superbugs are growing) to wash their hands.
I swear my best friends 3 year old daughter knows better sometimes!
It doesn't take long to wash your hands but it's a must. You can decrease your chances of getting a virl illness or bacterial infection.
And urine carries bacteria so this "I just did #1 " stuff doesn't fly....

Guys are guys and call us slobs, etc, but bachelors have a messy reputation for a reason. I lived on my own and single for quite a while after I broke up with my boy's mommy and would sometimes wash and sometimes not. I recently met a great girl, we are just friends, good friends, and her insistance on me washing my hands after I would emerge from her bathroom got me in the habit. I wash every time now | |

If manual paper towel dispenser, pump it twice to get some paper out.
Turn on water
wash hands
rinse hands, leave water running
grab that bit of paper towel, use it to touch the papertowel handle to get more to actually dry your hands.
After hands dry use papertowel in hand to turn off tap.
Use paper towel to grab door.
hold door with foot and throw out paper towel.

I wash my hand and then dry it with the paper towel and carry the paper towel and open the door with it. Then I hold the door with my foot and throw the paper towel in the garbage before I exit the washroom. | |

Posted: 3/24/2007 5:48:03 PM | | ever since I first read this thread I have been watching to see who washed their hands in the men’s washroom...for the most part most are, the few that do not are usually in the early 20's or teens/ pre teens, or they just wet their fingers and wipe them on their pants or jacket (same as not washing if ya ask me)...also surprisingly, a lot of older men are not washing their hands....I also noticed dada not making their kids wash their hands...now that is wrong! | |

Posted: 3/24/2007 10:34:33 PM | To all the guys (and gals)who do not wash their hands, because they believe themselves to be clean and say that they do not "pee on my hands" - here are some things to consider:
If you knew someone had just gone to the toilet and did not wash, would you:
1) shake their hand?
2) allow them to prepare your lunch?
If you answered "No" to either - WASH YOUR HANDS!
Urine is waste - carries bacteria and is NOT clean, despite your beliefs to the contrary.

3. Diseases may also be spread when hands are contaminated with urine, saliva or other moist body substances. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), typhoid, staphylococcal organisms and Epstein-barr virus (kissing disease) are spread this way. "
I am amazed at how many people , men AND women, don't wash their hands. Disgusting. | |
