Hello naughtyjoy,

Photos. You might want to thin out some of the tattoo photo's while I would promote photo 7 as your main photo.

Interests are all there. Good.

The profile needs tightening up here and there - looks like a work in progress. I think everything is there that's neseccary to describe yourself but I would look at the structure at bit. Break it up into short paragraphs if you can and use full sentences. Your personality is there in the words but not coming over in the profile.

Also, remove the repeats, e.g., you mention riding motorcycles twice; "I guess" comes up a couple of times at the beginning.

Finally, say what you want in a man as well. They need guiding occasionally!

Thanks, Splinter...that was fast!

I'll take another look and implement your good suggestions...certainly don't mean to appear arrogant. I've just purchased a camera and am trying to amass a new supply of pics. I thought I had already added another one , and if I can remember how to do it, I'll do it shortly. I've tried several smiling poses, but so far, nothing has emerged to my satisfaction. Will keep on trying. Also, have had requests for full body shots. My, my, what do they EXPECT from an old gal these days. Guess I have to prove to them that "a few extra pounds" doesn't always mean "fat".
Again, thanks for your valued opinion. I'm feeling a little more secure that my writing and editing career paid off. I posted a couple of threads already and certainly plan to post more.

Just an update on the proviso's in my intro'. I've added another,

7. Text speak. It's horrible. Don't use it. LOL 'laugh-out-loud' comes up a lot, but if you write well you don't need to add it to the end of the sentence. English is a vibrant language designed to be used.

Just a reminder, I'm always honest and never rude (might pull your leg a little). If your profile is truly awful, I'll send a private message. If I criticise it's because I think you're worth it, so please don't take anything to heart.

Hello Knitten,

I sounded too harsh on the 'arrogant' bit. It just seemed to clash with the rest of the profile which wasn't arrogant at all.

Photo's. Yes, I know the feeling - look at mine (!). Best thing to do is to get a friend to take some shots when your not looking on one of your days out (if you haven't done so already). Body shots, eh. Seems the letches don't give up.

Good luck.

Thank you Splinter for taking the time to assist us :)
You completely nailed it when you said "got stuck or were in a hurry". I was stuck then just put a bunch of stuff down and figured I'd go back and sort it all out later.
(Never got back to it though did I?! lol)
I wasnt sure about the photos, I felt maybe they were a little on the "exposing side" but if they dont come across that way in general thats good to know and I'll relax.
Thanks again for your help and I'll be going back to update soon.

Thanks for the feedback. Your impression is indeed what I'm trying to convey, so I'm glad to see it's working.

Good luck on the thread, I like what you've had to say so far.

Hello cck6840,

Photos are generally okay but I would like to see one of you smiling and it might be an idea to replace some of the hand-held self-portraits with ones taken by a friend.

2nd paragraph. Completely understand where you're coming from here but would thin it done a bit (but not the sentiment).

It is clear you want someone who is loyal but I'd add a bit more to your requirements. The Spanish bit is good. People who can share a foreign language have a really good starting point.

Hello Comatosa,

The leg photo might be superfluous. A real man is not going to be too bothered about the way your body looks (good figure or not) once he's gotten to know you.

Profile gives me the impression of a cultured, intelligent and good-humoured women. It's quite good.

One thing though. I would need to know if I was the possible type for you. Need to state your wants but in your case, where you clearly state your interests, it may be a simple matter of stating "looking for someone who can share my interests" .

One photographer to another, good luck.

Hello Em (eb3267),

You only have one photo and I don't think it's your best one. Get a friend to take some shots when you're not looking, 2 or 3 minimum.

You don't sound as if you have any specific interests above the usual. I'm sure you have and if so you need to raise them in the profile. As I've said elsewhere, to strike up a conversation you have to have a common talking point, invariably a shared interest.

Otherwise it's a case of tweaking the structure of profile. Paragraph 1 is mainly about the material things - no real problem here. Paragragh 2, 3, and 4 are about emotion; again no problem but it could be slimmed down to one paragraph. If you're looking for a man to share the romantic side of your life, say so and state the things you would like about him.

Hello dragonfly7555,

Photo's - I'm personally not too keen on webcam shots (assuming that's what they are). They tend not to be too flattering and implies you've not put the time in (i.e., you couldn't be bothered to take a proper photo). Having said that they're not bad for cam shots. However, get a friend to photograph you.

You definitely need to add more information. I see you work as an emergency foster carer, I'd like to know more about but I guess that would be a good reason to message you.

I would NOT emphasise the "making out". You state you want long term and don't want an intimate encounter, the latter contradicts the impression I get under 'first date' for example. I would revise (lighten) or remove the "making out" parts unless that's what you're really looking for.

You have some interesting activities in your interest list - shows you get out and about. Add one or two to your profile and expand on them (1 or 2 sentences should be enough). Real men are interested in that sort of stuff.

The impression is off someone who doesn't want to mess around. That part is good but I'd boost it with including some of the suggestions above.

Hello hapeenurse,

Replace webcam shots 1 and 2. 3 is rubbish - remove. Rest okay. Use 4 as your main photo.

Nice range of interests.

Well, the impression of your profile is of someone who is easy-going, good-humoured, scatty, and waffles a lot (latter sounds rude but it's not meant to be). If this is you then you've succeeded in getting you personality across so don't change it. You state who you are and who you want in your own way and I think you've covered all the bases. While it's not my type of profile I can see it being a good one for who you are. Castigate me if I've got the wrong impression of you.

You seem big on boobs - that might attract the wrong man so beware.

Hello beamer2006,

Oh, you're a man (looking for a woman, thank God). Bear in mind I can't give a woman's perspective on your profile which is what you really need.

Photo's. All good except 2, it's a bad photo, and 3, I'm not sure women care about photo's of sunsets on here.

Well the overall impression (limited use cos' I'm a man) is someone who is confident, but possibly overly so. However, some women might like that. Otherwise, the content is sufficient, possibly a little brief, but with a nice wide range of interests listed. No real fault here.

ADDITIONAL PROVISO TO MESSAGES 1 & 54.

Thought of another one to cover my back and it's essentially a follow-on from proviso 4 (message 1).

8. I do not wish to change your personality if you have a bad one, that is beyond the scope of the thread (and the website). I'm just here to help you better your profile by ensuring it accurately reflects your personality. And have some fun doing so!
