neandrethal like that wouldnt have understood anything beyond duuuuhhhhh where da beer.
if that happened to me i would have done the exact same thing. my eyes would pop out and my jaw would drop completely. unbelievable at how some (yes i said some cause it can go both ways - male or female) itch to put other people down. ugh. ha ha ha the cupping his balls idea was pretty good along with some others i found quite amusing, but in reality, a remark like that just dumbfounds people . you did do the right thing by walking away and try not to have that remark from someone that small linger within you :) | |

I would of said......."Did I ask for your opinion?" OR "If I cared about your opinion, I would of asked."
I had a very dear friend many years ago who FREQUENTLY said to rude, mouthy women (I know....it's the reverse, but....) "If I wanted your opinion, sweetheart, I would have beaten it out of you." Saying THIS to that jerk could have been fun.....but that also brings you DOWN to his level. Better to take the high ground and walk away. | |

Trust me I know exactly how you feel because when I carried extra weight I had a hurtful comment thrown at me and one that I will never forget. But you need to rise above it because you are better that that and don't let ignorance bring you down. He was a loser and comments coming from a man who has zero class should mean little or nothing to anyone. I'm actually surprised that you didn't wind up and give him a backhand or a swift kick to the shin. I would have definitely done everything in my power to embarrass the crap out of him . Next time don't walk away with your tail between your legs ... show them the power of a woman!!!  | |

Posted: 4/5/2008 6:54:38 AM | As tempting as it is to retort back with something to the effect of "How would YOU possibly know what guys do?" But don't. It would only encourage more rude comments and you're far above that behaviour.
This is one of those times when no response is the best response. Why bother? Don't give him one second of your attention, don't even look at him. Totally ignore him as if you didn't hear what he said, look directly at your female friend and tell her that you will be at the other side of the club then walk away with confidence.
Alcohol is never an excuse.

Posted: 4/5/2008 12:14:19 PM | that makes me sick. first off, he's an idiot. he has no social etiquette, no social skills. i can understand how that would make you feel...but don't give him the win of saying "granted, i could lose some weight". those who try to lose weight for others and because of others tend to fail...if you decide you want to, do it for yourself. he's an a$$. there are better guys out there. at least i hope.
im not going to say men, because i don't want to generalize, but society buts such a huge emphasis on weight in terms of being attractive. you have to be skinny to be attractive, they say. that is not true. im tired of looking out at the billboards, commercials, and magazine ads and articles.
i know it's easy to say to forget, so im not going to say that. but that hopefully will be a one time encounter with a guy who probably has never got laid in his life, and if he has the girl probably went screaming by how tiny his package was
