| POF Camp Outing Hocking Hills June 15th - June 17th
Posted: 4/29/2007 12:29:59 AM | Nikki as pretty as you are and no volunteers yet! I will volunteer   .
Has anyone thought that if we are having hamburgers friday we will have to start flipping hamburgers at noon.. And who really wants to be flipping 4 million burgers anyway.
There are some way to make cooking simple and you dont have to count on one or two people bring this and another few people bringing that. Maybe everyone bring a little pot of chili and we can find a few bigger pots and mix them. No cook Help yourself. Then everyone can sit around and eat together.
Of course bring a box of crackers and some shredded cheese. Just want to let everyone know its 3:30 AM It really sound good right now. But maybe later today it might not sound as good.  
The sight seening tour sounds GREAT!!

Posted: 4/29/2007 6:31:45 PM | I have a suggestion for the burgers...I just moved out to Columbus from Wisconsin last summer. Harleycwgrl invited me along on the camping trip and now I signed up for POF...so that's why I'm not on the main list. In any case...what if a few ppl make burgers ahead of time...and then if a couple people have those big Nesco roasters, throw them in the roasters w/ beer and onions and then no one has to do the cooking and they're delicious! So, there's a little piece of Wisconsin for ya...just an idea! Can't wait for the trip!  | |

I'm also an extreme lightweight and may need the headache relief in the morning if this is a byob camping trip... Either way, I'll be bringing 5-gallon jugs with drinking water and an igloo... | |

i saw in one message that this is supposed to be a "family" event. we are NOT bringing our kids. this is the only time we are getting away from the kids for a weekend. we will not be treating this as a family event, it is a chance for us to get out and meet new people. we will be hosting a byob luau party both nights in our tent area. noone under 21 is invited. hope to see you all there!

YES!!! WAHOO!!! CAN I BRING BEADS!?!?! Better yet, can I set up my tent near your area so that I can find my way home easier?

At the moment this puts us at 120 people! So if you are going - please post a confirmation that I have your number correct and you still plan to go! I have had alot of cancels/adds and I want to be sure we fill it to the full 120 limit!

SIDE NOTE: We need everyone that knows how to assemble tents to be prepaired to help setup tents for the people that haven't been camping before!!! But knowing that most of these people are regulars and as friendly as can be I am sure this won't be a problem!!!

This is gonna be a blast. 
The way the camping area is set up, the singles (without children) may want to pitch their tents toward the lower end farthest from the shelter. There is no actual physical separation between the 4 group areas so I would suggest that everyone bringing children should have the upper areas above and just below the shelter. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
My tent takes about 5 minutes to set up so I'll be around to help anyone that needs it.
Also......Vince has wood but no way to get it there. Anyone driving a truck with space to haul some wood down, please contact Vince or me. Anyone having extra firewood laying around that they can bring, please bring it. We can probably go through a sizable pile in two nights. | |
