It isn't how much someone gives to be with you that proves their love. It's how much they are willing to give up that shows how much you are loved.
That, IMHO, is terrible. Why would you want someone to give up something to be with you. If you truly love the person, why would you expect them to prove their love by giving up something, especially something important to them? Thats the implication I got from that quote, but maybe I misinterpreted...
To the OP, that is WAY to cutesy-cutesy for my tastes. I can guarantee that if my girl (who, admittedly does not exist) came up with that particular idea, she'd be getting the old ''rolling eyeball" from my side of the couch!
For me, I like to put notes in my girl's lunch or briefcase for her to find later. Either that or "secret admirer" types of stuff. | |

Posted: 3/21/2007 1:41:00 PM | do everything for that person you can, let them KNOW you care for them, YOUR action will say it all... but it wouldn't hurt to whisper it lightly in their ear when you hug them... or even to look deeply into there eyes before a special loving kiss..... it is in the caress of a cheek, the touch on a shoulder, rubbing their neck when it has been a hard day....It is being with them and smiling even though your dog tired.. cook their favorite food, pull down the bed for them and lay out there jammies.... Then quietly tuck them in and let them sleep.... with just a simple kiss on the forehead.. IT is showing them they come first, and in doing that you will become first in their life... if not.... Maybe you need to think about it. love is 50/50 If both partners give 60% to the relationship... there is always extra love...

I hurried just around the corner to a nearby shop and bought her one, a big Massive Pink bath towel. ( I was chuffed to bits ) That just says, I love you.
Holding hands all day. dreading the time when you have to let go. Knowing what the other one is thinking. That all says I love you.    | |

True love comes from the heart and often does need to be said but is heard in a whisper. I you are afraid of not hearing it back then listen to your heart and try to see what is in there's. I have been in Love twice in my live the first time I actually watched her get hit by a tracktor trailer about ten feet away while I was waiting for her at a coffee shop. THe second time I didnt see it coming at all. If you love someone you should want to shout it out but cry when you think about it. If it isnt hard it isnt real. Thats the way I see it. Communication is hard enough without "hinting" around meanings - sometimes people don't get what is being hinted at and you need to be absolutely clear (for some reason, I just don't understand why my ESP abilities aren't working...read my mind....read my mind....).
...and oh yeah! If someone tells you with feeling that they love you (and they mean it), nothing says "I Love You!!" back than actually saying "I Love You". Crazy idea, I know, but if the chosen response is "that's nice", chances are the message received is going to be "I don't give a crap and wanna be alone". Best to say exactly what you mean unless you really do want to be alone - just a tip.... | |

Don't wait til Valentine's Day or your anniversary to do something sweet, like the generic flowers, chocolates and dinner. Do something that is meaningful to you and her. Make a CD with songs that are relative to the two of you. Make a acrostic poem out of her name. Try cooking her favorite dinner instead of taking her out. I could go on and on, but you get my point. It doesn't matter how much it costs.. it's the amount of thought you put into it. | |
