| Funny Names For Kids Posted: 1/12/2008 9:02:41 PM | | I taught school so I came across a lot of intersting names. But one of the funniest incidents concerning names was when one of the kids came and told me that one of their books had bad words in it. I sighed and told them to bring it to me so I could erase the words. They brought me the book and I had to laugh. The book was a copy of that wayyyyyy old reading series " D*ck and Jane". My kids were so offended by that book so I just put it away. I explained that D*** was a nickname but could not tell them it was sometimes short for Richard because we had a Richard in the class. | |

| Funny Names For Kids Posted: 1/22/2008 11:54:48 AM | This first part may be a repeat since I didn't read ALL the pages. I always thought it was weird that George Foreman named all of his sons George, he has about 5, that is pretty weird. When I was in elementary school we had some kids from Thailand transfer in. Their father thought that the Thai names would be too hard to pronounce so he translated them. One boy was Super Rock and the other Super Apple Chalaingcarn. When I worked in telemarketing I always thought the Japanese last name Takashita looked pretty funny. I hate to admit this one. My redneck aunt named my cousins Tammie Lou and Peggy Sue...eeeeek. Their brother is Mark Anthony and he went and married a Misty Dawn.
I honestly don't know what people are thinking since they are saddling their own offspring with those names for life, and setting them up for lots of teasing.

I mentioned to my mom-in-law, "can you believe someone would name their little girl that?" to which she replied, without missing a beat "she probably wasn't born a Pigg, she probably married one!"

| Funny Names For Kids Posted: 2/20/2008 1:36:03 PM | Ok here are a few:
My mother showed me her senior year HS year book and there was a rather attractive girl pictured there who's name was Mary Zukavagina. I thought she was joking when she told me.
A guy worked at her place named Sterling Silver (I saw his payroll file)
When I was in the AF I worked for an officer named Richard "Call me**** Head (at least he had a sense of humor about it)
A woman I know had to fill out her child's birth certificate and couldn't think of a good name. So she happened to glance at the lunch menu and named the poor child "Orangejello".
And the capper...
I knew a guy in HS named Micheal Hunt. Interestingly enough he had a lot of girl friends...
