Maybe, just maybe, he respects his mother's opinion.

It really doesn't matter to me, it is after all their body and they can do as they please. However, so can I and I don't find it attractive at all.
I got a tackle box full of lures none of which I think would look very good hanging from some ladies eyebrow, nose, or lip...

Not intimidating to me, unless you pierced your eyeball. :)

It seems less taboo, and more cliche to me. If you really want to be "out there"; how about a huge lower-lip disk thing, a pair of "Chinese" bound feet, a few "African scars", a "nose-bridge bone", a stack of neck-rings, and/or an olde-style, rib-cage-crunching corsette? ;)

Necklaces, rings, and earrings are just obvious forms of jewelry, I > just like to have jewelry in random places on my body. Though I feel like I intimidate > some males because of the way I look. Of course, I would never change a thing about > myself, I just can't help but wonder if that might be a reason.
Depends on the aesthetics. Some work for me; some don't: One of my ex's preferred a kind of "punky-goth-eclectic" style, and, for the most part, wore her fashion and hardware very well.

Posted: 3/31/2008 9:52:31 PM | | Where I work, in a professional field, employees are not allowed to wear anything except a pair of post earrings. I think all the brow and nose and lip piercings are just a cry for attention. One of these days they will have children, and grandchildren, how to explain all the scars they leave behind? I think it is a form of mutilation. Same with all the showy tattoos. One day they will be stretched out of recognition.

| are some guys intimidated by girls that have facial piercings? Posted: 5/31/2008 3:22:43 PM | I loved reading this thread. The judging and assumptions about people with piercings is laughable. My nose is pierced, can you tell?? I'm sure I've gotten a ton of mail from men who find facial piercings unattractive because they don't even realize I have one unless they read my profile.
Seriously, if a piercing weeds out all these sorts of people, perhaps I will get more.
I respect the fact that some of you men find it unattractive. It's all preference. Just like I don't find men who dress in polos and khakis attractive.
I'm off now to do some excessive partying with lots of illegal substances along side my long haired pierced men wearing leather pants and riding a harley ...
Oh, I forgot to mention my tattoos! Maybe I should just go to a therapy session instead!! LMAO

To have five rings in the nose two in the lip three in the eyebrow with chains connecting them all is too much even for me lol. Maybe because I am not easily intimidated I dont know.

Posted: 5/31/2008 5:48:32 PM | pplz should never be judged by their looks alone, of corse, tattos and pircings are a matter of taste, some like em, and others dont. ( i love em.) i suppose it just depends what sort of guy you want to attract, and for what reason. ppl might think u are a though gal, but they should give you a chance to have your say, and listen to you, and make their mind up from there!

Gross and disgusting are.
Sorry, honey. My opinion should not matter to you, and hopefully doesn't, as I'm 54 years of age.
To wit, my father did not let me grow my hair long. That was the equivalent to piercings when I was your age. I left my home country because I wanted long hair.
I understand your emotions and attachments to your piercings, as I went through the same story with my long hair in communist Hungary. And I also understand the generation above me now, because I see that long hair on a man was the same to them then as piercings in a face are to me now.

I just realized I have metal in me, nice, quarter-inch long tubes. The casual observer cannot see them, because I wear the three metal tubes in my heart.
Now, is that cool or what.
This is not a joke or a delusion. The metal tubes in my heart are really, verily there.

You DO know piercings aren't permanent, right?
Not true, not true. I haven't worn earrings in, geez, probably since I was 5 years old...so 20 years ago. Guess what? My holes are still open. Had a tongue ring when I was 18. Quit wearing it after about 6 months. Guess what? Still have a hole.
Anyho...OP, now I'm all inked up. 10 tatt's at last count and plans to get more. But for some reason I find piercings disgusting. Now...that's not saying I judge people on the fact that they have multiple piercings on various parts of their bodies...I just wouldn't personally do it. And I sometimes wonder why the hell people do it...I mean with tat's, if you are a 'responsible' ink-seeker, have meaning to you and express something about you. What's the point of piercings?
I've never been intimidated by someone with piercings either. Actually, quite the opposite...I figure if we ever had a physical tiff it gives me more ways to induce pain and drop you to your knees. You can't rip my tattoo's off!!!
I do know what you mean tho...I've wondered sometimes if my ink intimidates people and I've even had people say that it does. But, sometimes I question the validity of that seeing as how I have a very strong personality to go along with all the ink.
