| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 2/15/2008 9:51:17 PM | I could go for a walk in the woods with a woman sometimes. Just let’s not get carried away. I am not sure about this camping out with the bugs and bear thing with a thin sheet of nylon to make me feel like I belong out at night.
My idea of the outdoor type is one that does not mind scratching in the dirt. Even that is not something I am looking for. I do prefer someone who is secure enough with themselves that they do not think they need a bag full of makeup to be seen in public. It is not that romantic snuggling up to someone and coming away with powder and paint on your lips.
I am sure the guys that are asking for an outdoorsy woman are just looking for someone that is inclined to chop down some morning wood. Got to keep the home fire burning.

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ... ? Posted: 2/16/2008 7:39:29 AM | I hope some still do. But how on earth do you link women peeing standing up to being "oudoorsy"? Anyone who has seen the Full Monty knows how women do it, and that was in a bar! Men who can make a fire and cook food without propane (or burning down the forest) are still out there somewhere. Those same men aren't sucky wusses about ticks, leeches, blackflies and skeeters or about sleeping on the ground in a tent. I can respect a man who doesn't get lost in the wilderness, has survival skills, can clean fish/game and who can carry a full pack (not talking beer here) without being susceptible to a heart attack. But I draw the line at winter; my weakness is that it's too danged cold here to play outside! All of the best memories in my childhood and adult life revolve around outdoors experiences in the wilderness... and I don't see at all how that makes me any less soft or feminine than the bar girlies. The misconception is that in order to be feminine, a gal has to wear make-up, heels and fake nails; you don't have to do that when you're in the woods. I bet there're a lots of guys who don't see it that way!
Cheers! | |

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ... ? Posted: 2/16/2008 9:43:50 PM | Ooops........ No........ Not you Printer!
Just the guys who get out there and then start complaining. Or complain afterwards.
You've let us all know where you stand beforehand, so I'm good with that!
Peace! | |

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ... ? Posted: 2/17/2008 6:00:07 AM | I can’t even make fun of myself on here!
Actually this summer I was thinking of grabbing a tent and finding myself surrounded by trees and water. And all the time complaining I forgot my teddy bear.
|
| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ... ? Posted: 2/17/2008 8:02:55 PM | Everyone has their own perception of "outdoorsy." When weather permits I like to spend evenings in my hot tub. It's outside. And I like to take road trips to the desert and camp far away from anyone. I'm building a small teardrop trailer for that. It would be nice to find a woman interested in doing those things with me.
She doesn't need to know how to chop wood or skin animals. And whether or not she pees standing up is entirely up to her.

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ... ? Posted: 3/1/2008 1:50:37 AM | Men are just like women. We'll list 50 things we want without knowing exactly what we want. I mean I would love to have a girl who want to hike into to the bush only with what we can carry on our backs for a week, but really how often am I going to be doing that in a year or a lifetime together ? Even if it is every weekend unless I don't want to see her during the week that camping part becomes a non factor. I think in the end a lot of the person I am looking for is going to be because of personality. I mean of course looks etc etc will play a part but those are only a part. On that note there are numerous comments here about guys watching the bimbo with fake everythings go by is that an issue ? I mean the guy sees something else going by but still chose to be with you. Isn't that a compliment that he noticed someone but you are obviously worth staying with ? My hope is to find someone who loves all the same things I do or at least have interests that can compliment each other, but in the end the most important thing is that me and my hopeful girl love each other. The rest is just things to work around. How does that old saying go "You can't have the good without the bad", "the bad times are there to alert you have good you really have it". | |

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 3/1/2008 10:15:25 PM | I think each man describes the "outdoorsy" type a bit different!!
Id say I fit most profiles of an outdoors woman! ...
I love to hunt, (yes I clean my own kills .... and Yes I kill things ) I love to fish (and I will put the worm on my hook all by myself!!!) when I say camping I mean grab a tent and sleeping bags and lets go.... I love to hike.... I own a boat and know how to use it! I can start a fire I can track an animal If need be... Im sure I could pee standing up but dont see much of a use for that talent! I own my own bow, camo, and guns
My idea of a great outdoors woman is one who can get down and gritty and still look damn cute doing it!!!!

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 3/3/2008 5:26:27 PM | you forgot sex with bug dope on and some thing sticking you in the back because the air matress got a leak. yes we doooooo because sex with some hairy buddy would really kill my interest in the great outdoors...
P.S if you came camping with me you would be treated like a princess......
|
| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ... ? Posted: 3/3/2008 6:13:19 PM | hahahaha You girls make me laugh.
Listen...I've had to learn how to pee from the side of a boat. My bf at the time used to whine and complain about having to go to shore for my squats. Well geez dude, we've been drinking beer since breakfast!!! *sings the beer for breakfast song* lol But once you have the "hang" of it...it's quite easy.
I hope men love the outdoorsy type. I have everything I need to camp. I can go out myself and be fully capable of surviving for weeks at a time. The further away from the city the better. I've been camping in places so remote, you need to cross two lakes, a small creek and beaver damns just to get there.
Is it camping weather yet?
Good one, SmilingOne, you ROCK, girl.
Now THAT, is REAL camping at its best, for ya, and the kind of outdoorsy type of woman who enjoys the backwoods camping, and who is not afraid of the roughing it type of camping. None of this easy Provincial Campground Camping, stuff, of being able to to buy pre-cut campfire wood, or having an already made on sight outhouse to go to to take at pee at.
No no, ya have none of that in the backwoods, ya got to cut your firewood, with an axe, and find a place where ya have to squat to take a pee.
And further more, it is also getting as far away as you possible can from the city, and connecting with nature.
Darling, you bet we guys love the outdoorsy type of woman. Well, at least most of us guys do.

Posted: 3/3/2008 7:46:36 PM | | I think he just isn't looking for someone who is constantly getting manicures, pedicures, shopping, crying ab0ut no air conditioning, worried about getting her nails dirty, thinks she might melt in the sun. ^^^^Hey, good one, ~Emerald~ .
WOW, a lady that likes to go and do the outdoorsy things that we guys like to do.
Ya GOT to like that.
Wish I could help you out ~Emerald~, however, I do not live locally, maybe some of the local guys can.
Hey, guys, what ya say, ya think ya can help this fine lady out. She had just expressed her interest in the outdoorsy things that she enjoys doing, that we guys also enjoy doing.
Hope that you find someone soon, darlin that will share those outdoorsy adventures with you.

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 3/5/2008 3:50:44 PM | LOL Dak - u have no idea - i love working on cars too - car shows, attending and participating. I can change my own oil, have done my own brakes and stuff, and now with my new truck, I wanna learn more, and who better to teach me then a guy that is good with his tools...(ALL of them)
and no, i dont want a guy that will do this FOR me, but a guy that enjoyes having a chick beside them and TEACHING them (without getting mad when she drops the wrench)
|
| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 3/6/2008 2:30:02 AM | ^^^^^^~Emerald~, I like your sense of humor, however, that is great that you can do all those things.
*And no, i dont want a guy that will do this FOR me, but a guy that enjoyes having a chick beside them and TEACHING them (without getting mad when she drops the wrench)*
Thats cool, and I know what you mean when you say, that ya don't want a guy getting mad when she drops the wrench. Understandably so. Oh just a thought, wouldn't ya rather be called a lady or woman, instead of, well, a chick.
Why, I ask, is, chick is nice, but, kind of cutting yourself short, wouldn't.
I know that chick is a poplar slang word for, well, guys, and some gals to use to describe a woman. But a lady or woman, kind of makes it more classy and formal.
Anyhow, I hope that you find the great guy that you are looking for. I will end it with that, cuz, don't want to go off topic any further.

| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 4/2/2008 11:29:40 PM | I know I'm not into outdoorsy types. I'm actually having the exact same problem just with women instead of men. I go through profiles and all I see is "I like to keep active and participate in jogging, biking, rock climbing, roller skating, camping, swimming, soccer, baseball, and so on. I'm looking for a guy who can keep up with me and wants to be active and outdoorsy."
I'm wondering if there's anyone left who actually likes being indoors away from that awful sun. *grin*
What can I say? I get sunburned in the middle of winter after 10 minutes of being outside(an exaggeration, of course).
|
| Men Do You Really Want The Outdoorsy Type ...? Posted: 4/3/2008 10:28:36 AM | I also enjoy "The Great Outdoors" by:
1. Camping in an RV or Trailer at a designated campground. No electricity is no problem because that's what batteries are for! Proper bathrooms & shower facilities with running water must be within walking distance. Also, I'm not afraid of going without the hairdryer or makeup or having the nails done. We are camping for goodness sake!
2. Fishing by using the ol' rod & reel. I can even bait my own hook but once I catch that fish & reel it in, someone has got to take it off the hook for me because I'm too scared to do it myself. One time I saw a relative get his finger chewed up by a northern pike (jackfish). My Relative's Ok but I was somewhat traumatized by this! I'm also learning how to fillet fish, so it's a start on overcoming this fear of handling live fish.
3. Hunting: I don't own a gun but I have nothing against Hunting. It's a part of my heritage. I'm proud to wear fur!
4. Beach & Other Lakeside activities such as boating, spending time at a cottage etc, I enjoy as well.
I live for our Manitoba Summers! Sunshine, water, sand! Love it!
