If you can get yourself out of a fix with a broken car/truck without having to call 'us' at 4 in the morning, maybe.
If you can bait your own hook, get your own damn beer, and live on fresh fish and boiled potatoes for a wknd definitely.
The cabin is fine too but dont expect to be cuddled up in from of the fireplace all wknd.
Thats why they call it 'outdoorsy'.
with camping...
Nobody wants to wait for you to do your hair, put on your warpaint, drive you to the nearest washroom and hear ya whine about how your shorts dont match with your swimsuit just to go out on the lake and come back lookin like you just got back from a night out at the bar. and YES sometimes you may be required to dripdry after a good squat too.... lol
Which reminds me of a time I took a friend to a fly in fishing camp and made her hang her butt over the edge of the boat to pee all day becuase she wouldnt slow down on the beer.
I got pics 
Its nice to go roller blading/snowboarding/cycling or just walking the dog at the park sometimes too.
If its too much to ask for, steer clear from somebody with 'likes the outdoorsy type' on their profiles... how hard is that?

okay - I'm teasing ...... but really guys - lighten up! I bet if you do, you'll actually come across that gal of your dreams who can hook her own worm, warsh dishes without rubber gloves AND pee off the side of a boat while drinking lots of beer ..... 
I believe the category was "outdoorsy" not uncivilized .......... lol

Honestly i wouldn't take most men ,especially not urbanites, with me either for the self same reasons.
Do i look for or want an outdoorst type? Nah i just want one who is herself and comfortably so. If she is or isn't outdoorsy is of no consequence.

I had no idea being 'civilized' included being completely useless in terms of survival outside the cushy life of a priveledged few.

Posted: 7/2/2008 10:04:28 PM | i have been coming to this site for almost a month now and i have seen a lot of you ladies profiles and i have but one question...................
Why is it that every single profile (Save one) that i have viewed or read all say the same thing?? Let me break it down like this.......
"I am a country girl at heart. I enjoy camping, floating, BBQing, fishing and/or hunting and am looking for same"
Call me old fashioned but i was under the impression that most women do NOT like to fish or hunt or camp. Maybe i am just a city slicker but all of the women i have ever met say just the opposite of what i have read on here. I'll be perfectly honest with all of you.......I dont WANT a women that likes all of those things because i dont like those things. i cant stand camping (would rather get a hotel room), Floating is boring as heck, BBQ isnt bad but i dont do it here at home, Fishing is boring as heck too and hunting is not a sport i want to get into. i like shooting pistols and rifles at a range but to sight in on an animal......just seems pointless to me. I do enjoy deer meat and i have had squirrel, rabbit, pheasent and quail but i dont enjoy actually killing these animals. i am an air conditioned gypsy and will probably always be that way.
Ladies....Be yourself. do not try to fit what you THINK a man wants to hear or wants you to be. All of us guys do not like hunting, fishing, camping or floating. Be honest and you will win more hearts that way i think.
it is my firm belief that men do not want a female hunting or fishing companion. They want someone at home waiting for them to reurn from the "hunt". i know it sounds sexist and i am really NOT a sexist pig but i am being honest here. Tell me what you think.

Well lowfly - clearly you haven't read them all because my profile says nothing of the sort? Perhaps fishing but as for camping, my idea of roughing it is room service! Nor do I hunt, "float"??? or slay dragons.
I agree that you need to be yourself as everyone should but I'd also recommend it's likely in your best interest not to generalize "all women" into one category or presume to know what "all men" want. "Women waiting at home for them"????? Holee molee, what century are you from????!!! Especially when it follows your sentence "ladies be yourself and don't be what you think men want you to be".

I can live outside for days and I don't need my make up or hairspray either. It keeps the damn fish away! Besides everyone knows that it's the female pheremones that brings the fish in anyway. Boys, you'll catch a lot more if you let the woman bait your hook  | |

.i have been with wanan be men who act the same way cuz they have never had exposure to extreme camping nor any realistic experience with bush life or the priorities which you switch to for survival ....
it is a deep intrest in many farm reared/RURAL human's which draw them back to basics...
so sorry many human's love the freedom of that..
me thinks .rural raised people seem to gravitate back to where they find solice....

and i could give a ratz azz if i impress some wannna be at this point in life...some of us just write those profiles to fit our own intrests not for a catchnet to attract folks who do not have a clue and can not relate TOO US!!!!!!...so obviously and in the open...rolls eye's.
switchin to survival is a love of nature to an extreem level...some folks can not relate to that wide open change and some love the freedom of not having anyone but the birds to answer to....some like to and some don't
some can appreciate the hunt and some puke beside the kill

And not complain about the bugs, wheather, the cost of ammo. And still look like she just came off the broadwalk runway. I would glady give up my time to stay by the firepit and bbq for her.
In time I know, I will find the outdoorsy one for me that can drag out a kill, wearing 4 inch heels over a 1/4 mile back to the cabin, and insist on driving back to town for more party favours, begs me to take out her new atv and break it in for her because, it has no scratches on it and it looks funny that way.
This above post is result of reading outdoor mags, and pof at the same time, while cold beer was in reach. At the time of this posting, it was not to set this as guide lines or requirements for possible dating by the said poster. I hadn't even considered the option of going into a lake/pool with the sole intention of floating!
I think I've found a new joy/passtime!
(I definitely try to get some floating in if I'm at a lake/pool... but just the idea of that being the only thing I do sounds great!!!)
