sittin in a cafe sippin up my coffee
some hell bent, red neck talkin bout the government ,wonders where his money went
livin the U.S.A he's still got a lot to say
Some hate talk,shock jock, always on the radio,knowin what he doesn't know,why's he got his own show?
livin in the U.S.A. why won't he go away?
Some unwed ,bleach blonde,talking head can't remember what she's said,she's just killin time ,repeatin the same old lines
livin in the U.S.A her hair changes every day
Some backed up,jacked up,televised preacher man is talkin to a knocked out,devout,
religious fan
livin in the U.S.A waitin for judgement day
some upset,uptown, trust fund banker clown,worried that the markets down,
what more can ya say he makes money every day
livin out in the street ,all across the U.S.A
some fat cat,former senator,who wants to start another war,never set a precedent,
now wants to be the president?sittin in a back room ,finger twitchin for the big boom
livin in the U.S.A .There's gotta be a better way,I still got a lot to say | |

to vote against the division along party lines

is watching those that think peace at any price
is a new idea whose time has come
watching those that never known courage in their own lives
see the herd as the wolves take more than their share
when you fail to honor those that protect
you end up worse off , or maybe not
if you are secretly rooting for the wolves.
Spending the time to understand how the hand of man
molds the way we live, those that swear off competition
pissing in the face of biology and never seeing
past the yellow haze
is it only self interest that moves us
altruism a conscious choice
do we have to understand ourselves ..to not be a slave
to the first man with a plan , a handful of chains
and a promise of better days to come | |
