But after reading this thread I figured because I call my body average, everyone assumes I'm fat and because I have stipulated a couple of things like non smokers and non married people that I'm a control freak lol | |

Posted: 5/13/2008 11:40:57 PM | brisgrl2....after looking at your profile...if guys think you're either fat or average...well that's their loss then. I'm vision impaired and I can tell you are neither fat or average...what is their problem I wonder.
The same for putting requirements on your profile. I see nothing wrong with that at all. If they are your likes and dislikes then why not put them in....hopefully it saves you from some of the absolute rubbish emails a lot of women get on this site. | |

If nothing else we can assume she likes at least one song.......mmm.......maybe the repeat button is stuck on the cd player......ooh.....hang on....that's two things. | |

Posted: 5/14/2008 7:00:48 PM | | true Coal,I am shocked that sometimes a lady is trying to catch our eye with something stupid like that,have seen many that just was a poem,and a poem that had nothing to do with this,or it was a saying,an offbeat saying.My thought is geez,don't strain yourself,how hard could it be to just state a few things about yourself,like your clueless how this all works,or your time is way to precious to waste on something like this,like your starting right off with "you guys aren't worth my time"and this shows me just how boring our conversations would be if all you can muster is copying a poem you read.Now had you stated that this poem or story seems to sum up your life or is how and why you do what you do,or was the code you live by,or gave us a clue why you typed only that then maybe we could see you were actually quite deep rather than the thought we all have | |

Posted: 5/17/2008 6:15:27 AM | I have to say that I prefer it if the profile contains well thought out and planned profiles that contain a bit of everything.
I can't stand abbereviated cyber expressions though, but that's just my own" gag" reflex.
I dislike "I am the one for you", "I like to live life to the extreme" or "I am the life of the party" etc.
I like, a person with an opinion, who can openly express it in their profile.
Note: I do not necessarily have to agree with the point of view expressed, it makes for good starting points for discussions.
I have myself resorted to telling people what I want, but I am hoping that this is groundwork that will weed out people who are too lazy to put in the effort it takes to have a relationship. It is a big deal for me, and hopefully those who are put off by it.... aren't the ones for me anyway.
So... yeah I have a very demanding profile.... but I don't really care!
If you don't ask.... you don't recieve, and at least I am being upfront instead of turning into some sort of proncessy nightmare later.
That's what happens when a girl tries to be too pleasant from the beginning ya see lol. | |

as for profiles.. up ur bum guys .. this is my attitude.. dont like it.. dont send message... simple.. ha..
i think its important ppl be whoever they are in a profile.. if thats a poem, walking down the beach, life of the party, so be it... | |

I really, really like profiles that make me laugh.
Me too, bewitched, they are the ones that I will send the first message to. A great sense of humour is really really important and attractive to me. But within reason, like I don't mean a guy who is continually spouting off cliched one liners from 70s comedy shows every second sentence or pulling stupid faces and waggling his ears etc (although I will admit at times yes this can be amusing but usually when accompanied by copious amounts of alcohol)

Posted: 5/20/2008 2:10:54 PM | So far everything that I've read here could also apply to what women like and dislike in mens profiles. I feel particularly annoyed with the ones that don't post a photo. The ones that put in the blurb, "Still working on this, will write it later" or only write "a nice man"!! The whole idea of it is to give us a snapshot of the sort of person that you are. I also hate the ones that write a small novel about themselves as if they are in therapy.
Then there are the ones that list all the attributes that they re looking for in a woman, like a shopping list but forget to say anything about themselves, really. "You will be feminine and rejoice in it, you will love to wear sexy underwear for your man, you will be stylish and petite, you will be intelligent but know your place, you will be able to mix in any social situation". Please!!! Are they looking for a trophy rather than someone who just wants to be able to relax and be themselves?
So guys, please take the trouble to say something about YOURSELF and post a PHOTO. | |

If she appears on 12,786 ( slight exageration) favourites lists.......chances are she's been hit on enough and probably had enough. | |
