| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/8/2007 11:35:09 PM | Grading profiles based on spelling mistakes and their vernacular is not a hobby of mine but I do love to read them. I have become a bit of a profile nazi (minus the goose-step, mass political rallies and dodgy moustache) in an attempt to offset the vague nature of my own. With this in mind..
The ability to portray yourself with any degree of accuracy in written form is pretty rare and if it wasn't we would all be working in the field of advertising. I am appreciative of any effort made that takes you out of your comfort zone. Something revealing about yourself. Something that makes you feel exposed. Something like the 'hokey pokey.' You know, left foot in and all that sort of stuff.
If you want to leave a lasting impression, use a hammer!

You already have, so why should others bother commenting. After all women whinge and whine about men, but this thread shows who is always trying to over rule and take control without any direction whatsoever, except gibberish.

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/9/2007 3:48:44 AM | Re #83,,,it's Easter! I've seen the cliche statement so many times and not just this site. The one that goes roughly that they dress ultra smart for work but are quite happy around the house in average cloths. That they can get dressed really sexy and spiffy going out. I thought everyone did that. What the hell do they think we think? That they dress in a business suit while mowing the lawn! They turn up to work in an old hesham sack? They go out to trendy restaurants in trakky daks?
At best they're saying they're high maintenance in the cloths department. Scary stuff!

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/9/2007 4:10:17 AM | I like it when women seem down to earth, sensible yet fun. I like it when they don't play hard done by, no matter how challenging their life may have been. Being funny and not just saying they have a sense of humour. When it seems they want to share their life, not be rescued from it. Confidence is very sexy. Arrogance is obnoxious and boring. Children aren't baggage, they're a blessing. I don't like the screaming of "No players or liars or cheats", "No abusers" etc. From experience I know that's baggage. I don't like suggestive pics. There's nothing immoral about them. I just don't like them as a first impression. Great for a perve though! | |

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/10/2007 4:06:24 AM | well, men and woman can say things on here but how many really read the profiles? guys sending a msg to women looking for a seroius relationship and some twit who wants a one night stand sends her a message.
i would say i like a woman who says she is honest, loyal, and dedicated. dut is that not all relative to a persons upbringing or age?
dedication to a 25 year old might be quite different to the views of a 50 year old.
though if a lady sounds like she is what some call 'clingy' then to me that is a big pluss.

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/12/2007 3:10:08 PM | Howdy, nice to know that human behavior has spanned the globe. I'm sure singles in say, Iraq/Pakistan/Bulgaria have some of the same issues/complaints! It seems that many, when writing their description, simply "like to see themselves type" (in deference to "hearing themselves talk") Cases in point: "like to have fun" - duh? As opposed to "make me melancholy and depressed?" "comfortable in blue jeans or black dress and heels" - since toddler age, I'm sure most of the folks on the planet have had opportunities to dress occasion appropriate. "no cheaters, liars, etc.." - again, if those words were in a man's search string, I'm almost certain, they wouldn't have the energy nor time to use an online forum "like all things outdoors" - Oh really? Then crawdad hunting, sky diving, making moonshine, and getting bit by a rabid wolf or raccoon is your idea of a good time?" To be honest, I've not read that many male profiles, but I'm sure some of those don't grab the reader either. I personally think it's best that one be a bit more specific in their self description, such as: *I really enjoy the outdoors when I'm camping by a lake* *I like dogs* (not necessarily all animals, lizards, alligators, snakes, bats..) *I like riding and working with horses* NOT- I like horses, just like I like TV, fun to look at | |

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/15/2007 4:46:49 AM | I would have to agree with some of what Cowboy has to say. I particularly liked the comment about liking all things outdoors, now that put a smile on my face. Personally I've got nothing against camping and going fishing, I just don't put it all on my profile, there needs to be something left for people to discover about you. Anyway, enough about me, more about the topic.
For me, spelling is important. It hopefully shows that someone is at least a little bit educated. I mean come on at the very least put it through a spell checker. How hard is that?
One thing I do like is when someone can manage to put something in their profile that puts a smile on my face or makes me laugh. Having said that, my own profile could do with some improvement in that category.
What I've said above is hardly rocket science. When I look at profiles I nearly always read the whole thing unless there is something early on to suggest that we really wouldn't be compatible.
Does that help anyone? | |

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/17/2007 5:39:21 AM | To be honest.......... I dislike gettin fooled by old glamour photos of women and when it comes to meetin them on a date i have found that it isnt the person i thought i would be seeing. Specially if those photos were taken before they had children etc | |

| What Guys like and dislike in womens profiles Posted: 4/18/2007 1:29:13 AM | WE are NOT all like that, there are some of us just looking for an equal partner I hate people who rate everyone on the same level there are a lot of us who are uncomfortable with the "first date / coffee" senario. why not just make it honest to a point and just meet and if no attractio just say so! Beats having to think of excuse to escape. | |
