few come from wealthy conservative backgrounds that do the grunt work
most wealthy conservtives dodge the dirty jobs

Bush is not doing a good job of shutting down the borders. But most of the conservatives on here openly admit that, as do I. However, conservatives are the only ones doing anything about it. Libs aren't doing anything but encouraging it.
The rich classes don't want to do anything to stop it and that includes republicans AND democrats. Who's going to be the nannys or pick their crops or work on skyscrapers? ...
Illegal aliens are excess supply which keeps the demand for unskilled or lowskilled labor lower than it would be otherwise. Unions have tried for years to keep illegals out, but it never happened. I doubt it will now.
You guys think that your CONSERVATIVE ideals are what the republicans are all about... Well, it's not about that. That was the days when the leaders of the republican party were nice guys who owned little mom and pop stores and were concerned about police spending too much time at the donut shop. *LMAO*
These guys light their cigars with $1000 bills.
On this issue, it's them vs. YOU... and me... and people who aren't millionaires.

How can a group of people have almost total control over government, the judicial system and the press and still whine incessantly about being victims?
We all know the answer. You can do it if you're a conservative.
With each passing day, the right's grip on our nation tightens, but still they whine about those mean ol' liberals who are supposedly still beating them up for their lunch money.
It makes a great diversion to take people's attention away from their goal of turning the United States into a one-party country where there are no checks, no balances, and no countervailing power to stop them. | |

Hannity decides instead that parlour games and circus stunts are the way to 'enlighten the plebs', as they say, and everyone's worried the left is too touchy?
How about this...How dumb do conservatives have to be to make a big deal out of the fact that with a border thousands of miles across, there are going to be stretches that aren't well guarded? Or...since when do publicity stunts matter in real political debate?
It's like asking Claudia Schiffer what she thinks about the new pope...um...since when do we give a sh!t what super-models "think"? And since when do we care what a segment that was being done for Fox News, a segment some dumb producer thought would have 'legs' when 'aired' as a 'visual'...constitute anything other than a pathetic propaganda piece with as much 'newsworthy-ness' as the 'breakthrough in male pattern baldness' special that tells you how you can spray paint your head to cover up that bald spot?

Why are you bringing this up as anything worth discussion? Surely you can find something in your local paper more closely resembling something with a point to it...maybe the local church jamboree is trying to decide if free parking at events encourages people to drive, thus thwarting global warming. That's a flat out lie. The Republican party was the first in Senate history to use the filibuster to block a judicial nominee, Abe Fortas, Lyndon Johnson's nomination for the Supreme Court. Johnson withdrew his nomination after the Senate failed to invoke cloture on October 1, 1967.
And if you caught Clinton talking to Katie Couric, you know that the republicans refused to allow 40 of Clinton's judicial nominees to a vote.
Seems the way is to change the rules rather than behavior.
Another example....Delay changes the House ethics committee rules on split votes even though it was the Republicans who put that rule in when Clinton was President. | |

A letter coming straight from the Democratic Caucus is not 'cheap points' it is as condemning as hell. This isn't a single radical liberal that initiated this, it was the Democratic caucus.
Not every Democrat is a low life, but this was a ridiculous, false attempt by Democrats to trash a conservative simply because he has a slot on Fox news.
As for Abe Fortes, his review ( a highly questionable filibuster) lasted 4 days. We have qualified Judicial nominees that have been filibustered by the Democrats for over a year. In fact we have one Judicial Nominee being filibustered because he is Hispanic.
A filibuster based on race IS unprecedented. If the Republicans ever tried that the ACLU would have them in court before the day was over yet here are the Democrats doing that very thing... | |
