| | Friday the 13thPage 2 of 2 (1, 2) | I've posted twice in this thread already, so I've either got my own personal guardian admin wanting to send me to band camp, or the great Murphy doesn't like his laws and exploits being exposed. Friday the 13th has rarely ended well for me and I seriously can't tell anymore whether it's the paranoia or something else (I'm usually not a surperstitious person).
In the days before electricity, women's bodies were influenced by the amount of moonlight they saw. BC, is that true (did ya find it somewhere credible)? I've heard that one before, but I'm usually too lazy to research alot of things.

| Friday the 13th Posted: 3/27/2007 10:24:10 AM | I'm actually surprised that there isn't too many people who has issues with this date.
I have always known at least one person who locks themselves in their house, unplugs everything and remains silent on the couch until the day is over.
Superstitions have been around for centuries. Some are cooler than others though.

| Friday the 13th Posted: 3/27/2007 10:50:33 AM | | Good day for me. My youngest was born on Friday the 13th | |

| Friday the 13th Posted: 3/27/2007 12:51:29 PM | There are also 28 days in the emotional cycle when charting bio-rythm. This number is the same for both genders.
It would have made more sense to have 13 months rather than 12 based on the moon cycles rather than other arbitrary numbers. I guess triskadekaphobia was alive and well when they were charting out the calendar as well. In that case there would have been a Friday the 13th every month as well.
I think it is true that when women spend a lot of time together their cycles seem to align themselves. I have seen this happen among women, and I would say that would give us all a reason to fear.....
A CHOCOLATE SHORTAGE!
That is a bigger fear than Friday the 13th! LOL
|
| Friday the 13th Posted: 3/27/2007 1:56:34 PM | I'm against chocolate shortages of any kind.
Friday the 13th is no big to me other than the amusement factor of watching others for whom it is of great concern. Fascinating the way some people trip out over a combination of day of the week and a number. I don't get it but it's interesting to watch.

| Friday the 13th Posted: 4/14/2007 2:39:29 AM | | A very well liked, and respected foreman only a couple months away from retirement was crushed and killed at my work on a Fri 13. Years ago, but whenever there is one, I think of him, and never question it's solemnity. | |

| Friday the 13th Posted: 6/13/2008 8:15:40 PM | dook - U are not alone with your special talent. It happens to me all the time.
Here we go another Friday the 13th. It doesn't bother me, but apparenty some people have phobias around this day and won't even leave the house.
I don't really like the number 13. My conditioning has led me to be a little bit careful when it comes up. I am moving rooms in my work place to a room that ends with the number 13. The number bothers me slightly.

| Friday the 13th Posted: 11/14/2009 12:51:58 AM | Well the day is over, and it is now Saturday the 14th.
I didn't do anything different and didn't have any unusual bad luck.
It was just another regular day for me.
I plan on spending mine down at the beach doing some reflecting and writing. I certainly wasn't tempted to spend any time on the beach. It was a raw cold wind blowing off the ocean, the temperature barely above freezing.

| Friday the 13th Posted: 11/14/2009 1:00:43 AM | I wasn't out a lot today, but apparently we had a few snow flakes, just for a few moments twice today! oh its coming, its coming ..... | |

| Friday the 13th Posted: 11/15/2009 6:07:55 PM | I've always been fond of the no. 13 and Friday the 13th is no exception.
Nothing unusual on Friday but on Saturday I accidentally kept putting my clothes inside out. In the tradition of my country it means that I'd get a surprise of some sort, and I did!!
