| Dog People Posted: 7/19/2007 1:12:12 PM | me again... oops, I forgot to end the quote from diamondheart, so the whole thing is highlighted as a quote... my bad.
and one final note from me, because I am such a doggie person.
THERE ARE NO BAD DOGS, JUST BAD OWNERS... (with the exception of dogs with neuralogical disorders... one of my dogs was actually diagnosed as autistic, but she's not a bad dog, just not always a good dog)
Oh and for a great read that will make you laugh and make you sad, for the people who haven't read it yet, Marley and Me by John Grogan is an awsome book! if you think your dog is destructive read about Marley and you'll think your dog is an angel!
|
| Dog People Posted: 7/19/2007 1:37:49 PM | Oh! I'm so glad you posted that!! I wanted to read that book... it's on my list to buy after I finish "How to speak Dog" by Stanley Coren. good to hear an endorsement for it from someone who isn't trying to sell it! | |
|
| Dog People Posted: 7/19/2007 1:56:59 PM | Well diamond you know what I'm going to say. WHAT A beautiful picture and my heart is in my mouth BUT I'm enjoying seeing the two of you together.
Read your post. Sounds so much like Simba (breed traits). I got Simba when he was 4 and he'd been badly abused. You've read how he changed over the 10 years we had together. You definitely have to be the pack leader! Once you attain that status your AE will almost worship you. Gotta tell you that sometimes Simba just liked to eat fresh young grass. I think it is the wolf part.
I tried Simba with obedience school when I first got him but it was mayhem so I read, read, read, asked, asked and finally broke thru his social disorder. You know that I wish you well with your munchkin.
Goldie my foster rescue is really good and well behaved BUT man is she bossy! but she is also a very good obedient, affectionate munchkin. I'm still a bit aloof but she is growing on me and she has attached herself to me so I really don't have any option but to fall in love all over again. Remember she is 9 plus years.
No news re 3 pit bull story except if looks could kill, I'd be dead by the owner. We came face to face at the front door 2 days ago. Trust me pepper spray always in my right hand and always ready.

| Dog People Posted: 7/19/2007 5:01:43 PM | "How to speak dog" was a very enlightening book. That was actually one of the books that got me interested in dog training. The other one would be "Animals in Translation" by Temple Grandin and Catherine Johnson. This was also very enlightening and it's also how I came about questioning if one of my dogs was autistic. After careful consideration I decided to bring it up with my vet and she confirmed that she indeed was an autistic dog. Apparently it is very unusual, but there are a few rare cases. I have a ton of self help veterinary books as well, if you would like some titles and authors I would be more than happy to provide them for you. I have found them very helpful because when you own 4 dogs and have up to 15 in your care, you don't want to rush off to the vet every time the dog makes a wierd cough or has an odd spot. It has helped me diagnose a lot of minor ailments in quite a few of my dogs. | |

| Dog People Posted: 7/20/2007 4:54:27 AM | Last Sunday, there was a bring your dog event (The Dog Days of Summer) at the Great Lakes Brewing Company, a restaurant/brewery that is normally closed on Sundays. Health codes prohibit bringing the animals inside, but they roped off the street and had several tents set up. There were easily hundreds of dogs! It really was a fun event. It was funny to see how all of us mastered the art of the leash dance, and I would love to see a video of some of the dances the owners did in keeping the leashes untangled. Dogs of all shapes, sozes, colors, breeds, and ages mingling together. I did not see one spat, either, between dogs or between people. | |

| Dog People Posted: 7/20/2007 8:16:11 PM | First, daizee, please do keep all of us concerned people informed as to your legal situation and know that from what I've read we're all in your corner. Second, thanks to all the kind words concerning my poem written for Bullie, I wish now I'd taken more than the 30 minutes or so I spent to compose it. I also hope others will use it when that time comes, and it does come all too often. Which brings us to......... another true dog story, one I hope you all enjoy. It's rather lengthy so I'll try my best at presenting the RD's version, but short posts are not one of my, uh, shortcomings, lol. I wish I'd written this before so I could simply copy and paste but here we go..... It began on a Saturday many years ago. I had some things at work that needed cleaned up so I decided to go to the office. Unlocked gate, turned off alarm, entered office and got to the business at hand. (The gate was left open since I expected no visitors but because of the area I did lock the door. Although it's generally trouble free when the sun's up, which it was, just wanted to be on the safe side.) RD version, I must remember that. So, after a couple of hours with my estimating software, I decided to stretch my legs. While I was near the front door I saw through the Plexiglas front a rather small, plus or minus 15 pound scraggly dog with curly/stiff white hair eating chewing gum off the asphalt parking lot. I opened the front door and tried to coax him/her to me but to no avail. There was never any threat or aggression on his/her part (OK, he turned out to be a he so I'll just use he from now on) just reluctance to venture too close. It appeared obvious he was hungry so I retreated back inside to where we kept a few snacks for our employees. Ah, these peanut butter crackers should do nicely. I opened the pack and tossed one in his direction, gobble gobble. All six crackers were soon devoured and I had a 'friend' that simply would not leave my side. (Of course I know peanut butter makes one thirsty, dogs included, so a water dish was provided which he then went after like it was his job to drain the Nile River.) RD, RD, I must keep that in mind. He had no collar but he certainly had an affection for me and I for him. Which meant he went home with me after leaving work. (Please note; an add in the paper was placed and although my office is near homes, it's not like it's right next door to houses.) Once at my house he was warmly received by all, all except my ex and our then residing resident b-i-t-c-h when she wanted to be dog. Pepper was her name, and I was truly saddened when my ex wrote to tell me of her passing. She also had another moniker given to her by my former brother-in-law. Guess we can forget all the RD manure now. Anyway, when we'd visit my Mother-in-law, my ex's brother lived nearby and would also come to visit. His car at that time had a bad muffler leak with a very distinct sound. Pepper was living there at this point and would go bonkers when she heard that sound. The reason, the ex's brother almost always brought her a Hardee's sausage biscuit and being the funny guy that he was renamed Pepper 'Biscuit Who- re', which most all dogs are. I digress, the RD version is shot to pieces but please bare all for me, Oops, I meant please bear with me. My ex thought Tramp would be a good name for him and it did fit him well. He had Terrier in him for sure and resembled the traits of the more famous Tramp from Lady and the Tramp without question. He was already housebroken, but for some strange reason my ex didn't like the fact that he'd bend the blinds to get a better view of the outside while we were gone, go figure. But what a quick study he was, soon learning the difference between 'get your rope' and 'get your ball.' Not to mention his 'learning' to go behind the open door when I'd toss his rope over it. (Picture the door open, but tight against an adjoining wall.) But his greatest achievement, at least in my opinion, came at treat time. Both he and Pepper would be given a doggy treat in the evening. Tramp would immediately scarf his down while Pepper decided to savor its aroma till a more appropriate time for consumption. In short, she turned into her b-i-t-c-h self again and only wished to tease Tramp with the old "Nanny nanny poo poo, I got a treat and you don't" routine. Well, you know Tramp wanted that treat and he soon figured out a way to get it. He'd approach slowly until Pepper showed her teeth and growled, then he'd back off and move in from another direction. It wouldn't take too many trips inside the 'no treat zone' before Pepper was up and chasing him. Tramp simply made a circle, grabbed the treat on his way around, and sat down while enjoying 'her' treat right in front of her, lol. Fast forward, well, at least slow forward, because it wasn't long before the next chapter started. Keep in mind the fact that my ex wasn't thrilled about Tramp, so the next happening shouldn't surprise you. The AHU, (Air Handling Unit) about 12 years old at this time, was beginning to fail. Simply replacing the squirrel cage fan would have fixed it but since that company was no longer in existence, builders grade crap, I decided on a completely new, energy saving matched set. (What does this have to do with your dog story?) Please read on and you'll see. I had past dealings with an A/C supplier company but don't possess the license required to purchase freon equipped stuff, but I know someone that is licensed, he he he. So I bought the units, he signed for them, and arranged for my guy to install them. The installation also included installing a programmable t-stat and here's where the dog story continues. He fell in love with Tramp on his first visit but wasn't able to complete the entire installation during his first trip. Being a working, employed person, he was only available after hours or on weekends. He had also told me and my ex that his daughter wanted nothing but a Jack Russell and he was shocked to see them going for nothing less than 600 bucks. Maybe she was a fan of Kramer, lol, but remember when Collie's were the number one breed in this country because of Lassie? So he called one Saturday and asked if he could come by to finish the job? Sure I told him, we'd be home all day. He proceeded to tell me that he'd have his wife and young daughter with him since they were going to have a late lunch after he finished with my system. No problem here, the more the merrier, bring them on. I'm guessing they showed up around noon time, his misses and daughter being offered the comfort of our home while he finished 'tweaking' our system to get it working correctly/properly. Well, Tramp and this little girl were getting along great, playing, rough housing, all things young dogs and kids love doing. That's when I told Trap to go get his ball. (Remember, both myself and my ex knew from an earlier conversation that this child wanted only a Jack Russell.)
Tramp instantly flew off in search of his ball, we were all in the living room while he scoured through the den. After 5 minutes or so he returned, tennis ball in mouth of course, and immediately went to the little girl. Well, this child was duly impressed which did not go unnoticed by my ex. She loudly proclaimed that she thought he had some Jack Russell in him which only caused her little eyes to widen. (Real dog lovers will understand this next part.) She reached for the ball and he started growling, that caused her to instantly withdraw her hand and a plea to me to get the ball from his carnivorous jaws. I did, threw the ball down the hall with the same results again and again. He continued to bring it back to her, I told her over and over that it was his way of playing yet she kept asking me to remove it from his deadly jaws, but she would take it and finally throw it herself.
You guessed it, she finally got the nerve to wrestle it from his steel crunching, prehistoric man eating jaws. She was, quite simply, having the time of her life, and I'll admit to being thrilled by their connection as well. (Remembering back to that age when I wasn't allowed a dog because of this and that.) So, when my ex said they could have him if they wanted, I didn't protest much. I thought more of keeping our marriage intact but now I wish I'd kept Tramp. They all left saying they'd return to get Tramp but hours passed. We figured they'd decided against taking this ball of energy when, after dark, head lights arrived and turned into our driveway.
They waited quite a long time to be seated where they chose to eat, then went to Wally World and bought all kinds of doggie stuff. Food, toys, you name it, they had it. We were all outside at this point, but the real eye opener was when they opened the back door of their car right before they left and Tramp ran and jumped in and then sat right on the seat. It was as if he knew, and I think he did know, that I loved him so much that I was willing to give him to someone that loved him even more. My RD version is over, thank you for your patience, understanding and for listening.

| Dog People Posted: 7/21/2007 10:08:53 AM | That was the sweetest story! Thanks for sharing. It is awesome when they find a good match. | |
|
| Dog People Posted: 7/22/2007 4:39:50 AM | THANK YOU
I wish I could leave it like that BUT you know the too short message can't be posted line!
This weekend I am dog sitting a dog call Cizmo. His name should be ragamuggin. Goldie and he are getting along quite well but sometimes words are spoken between the two. Cizmo is a champagne white ShihTzu / Poodle mis me thinks. He is so cuddly and reminds me a lot of my first dog a ShihTzu.
I have discovered that I can not handle 2 dogs at once and live and accomplish anything. Each needs their own distinct needs, both are under my feet all the time BUT I think that this has been good for Goldie and me! Cizmo is a sweetie but his heart belongs totally to his mom who is away for the weekend. My heart has been tugged just about in every direction this weekend AND so I know I can feel again. AND I appreciate Goldie's 85% tranquility.
OOOOps was just filling space!

| Dog People Posted: 8/21/2007 12:43:28 PM | gtadaizee, I hope you are doing well! I could not even imagine trying to handle two dogs, though I have had a couple of overnight visitors (dogsitting). Somehow, Riley knew they were temporary so he tolerated them. I am blessed with very good neighbors that are also Dog People. The people next door have a dog that is a playmate of Riley's. Yesterday, he marched into their home and scared the heck out of their visitors, because their door was open. I apologized, but we all laughed about it. I live in an apartment and do not have a fenced yard. This morning I had him in the back yard and he ran through the hole in the fence to Joe's porch. I was hollering for him, and Joe yelled that he was over there. I apologized, and he said, "It's okay! I love Riley. He is a great dog!" Riley is the community watchdog and he is friendly with everyone that is supposed to be here, and he barks loudly at the rest, and I foot the bill for our neighborhood alarm system. I am lucky to have such wonderful neighbors! Somewhere in there is the little guy that I fell in love with, and he still has that same sweet temperament. I could saddle him and ride him to work now, though! | |

| Dog People Posted: 8/22/2007 4:52:14 AM | Hi all! Most of my physical injuries are healed, a few ugly spots on my right arm, but the fingers are permanently damaged I think. Life goes on, my foster dog Goldie is quite laid back, stubborn, coolish but she is good company and she's fixed herself to me. She's not cuddly at all and that is certainly one of my needs. Some days she is livelier than others. She is quite stiff when she gets up. So "us" two old ladies are growing older and creakier together. She really is a good girl and yet sometimes she is REAL bossy. I call her Princess Goldie. I can't imagine not having her with me.
Law suit marches forward at its expected slow rate (plus holiday time slows it down more). My lawyer is GREAT. The owner of the 3 pit bulls is still living here BUT I carry pepper spray ALL the time now.
4realru: I know you wrote the poem for somebody else but I printed it and stuck it to my monitor. Basically I'm doing okay but suddenly have moments of great sadness.
There have been several more pit bull attacks in and around Toronto lately. No leashes, no muzzles. So I'm sure there will be plenty more law suits. And yes I agree its the people, not the dogs (but it is the dogs who have been trained for antisocial behavior BUT that puts it back to the people.
Someone told me that some of the breeds Dobermans, Pit Bulls, Rotweilers, German Shepperds sometimes become dangerous after 7 years of life and need to be watched carefully. Well isn't that true of all elderly dogs, they are less tolerant than the puppies, except that they seem to have a lot of fun with puppies.
Goldie sits on the floor, rather she lies on the floor so regally, she is becoming precious to me, time will tell. I don't let kids pet her due to her abuse my kids, and she is 10 years old. Actually she is just not social with others (but I've noticed that a few regulars do get some interest out of her.
|
| Dog People Posted: 8/22/2007 7:47:40 AM | gtadaizee,
I am glad to hear that Goldie has settled right into your life, and has become a great companion for you.
I wish you all the best through your long court case. In the end, I am sure that it will turn out for you. Remember you and Simba have many angels with you always ... both in real life and in the spiritual life!
I just recently saw the movie "Pay It Forward" again. I love that movie. It is great! If you haven't seen it, it is a must see.
The song "Calling All Angels" comes at the end of the movie. I'd like to share the chorus with you!
calling all angels calling all angels walk me through this one don`t leave me alone calling all angels calling all angels we`re cryin` and we`re hurtin` and we`re not sure why...
This is such a beautiful song. You can download it from limewire.
These are very sad cases indeed ...... some people can be so mean and ignorant! Somehow we are supposed to stay calm through it all ... and hope that the justice system is just that .......... just! We must remain positive about that, and assist with keeping the system just, whenever we can.
I wish you strength and understanding through your ordeal. I know that it will be difficult reanacting the horrific episode. But I do feel that the good will prevale here.
|
| Dog People Posted: 8/22/2007 8:11:26 AM | I forgot. I had an epithany a few weeks ago. It came to me REAL suddenly. While I thought I was trying to save Simba's life, HE saved me! Man that took me a few days to get over. That's the hard part, memories just hit me suddenly. But that is the way with all deaths. I am once again in that period of time, that falling asleep is really hard. Mind working.
That's the hard part. I so want to put the pain and sadness behind me BUT I have 2 (TWO) court cases ahead of me and/or I see an American Eskimo and get flooding tears. So while I am trying to move ahead, I have to keep it close for the court cases. The cities is Nov 2/07 and don't have a date yet for my personal lawsuit.
I think of all of you and all your wishes and ALL your stories and I know support.

| Dog People Posted: 8/23/2007 2:48:57 AM | My strong-willed Rottweiler challenges me often. We went to obedience training and he was both the most improved and worst dog in class. He is a big, friendly goof, but also very protective of me and our home. My next door neighbor recently got a girlfriend and she is terrified of dogs, especially big dogs like mine. She thinks he is "cute" but I feel bad because she is so afraid. He really is a great dog, though. The mailman and the UPS driver greet him and are not afraid, he plays with the neighbors' dogs, and the neighborhood considers him our watchdog, because he barks when necessary but not excessively. I live in a 2BR apartment with an enclosed porch in the front. The back porch isn't enclosed and the yard isn't fenced. When I came home from work, I let him out, and he just hung out on the rear porch enjoying the fresh air and didn't run off. When my neighbor came home, he rushed over to greet him, because he loves him. When he said that Sarah was coming from the front (we park in the rear) I restrained Riley. I know I gush about my dog, because I struck gold with him and he is such a good dog!. | |

| Dog People Posted: 9/8/2007 10:21:24 AM | Hi all.
Goldie has attached herself to me but she is usually aloof but when she gets funny she is REALLY funny as in hahahahahahaha! I call her Princess Goldie now as she really does get bossy some times. Of course I still miss Simba badly but I am making some improvement.
Update. WOULD YOU BELIEVE that to find out the specific charges the owner is facing, I have to apply thru and pay to Freedom of Information (Now called Privacy Act). Remember me!!! I'm the one that was attacked and I have to pay and apply for information!!!!!! Oh and now I've heard that there is a witness from the Condominium next door who did see the attack and who did call 911 much earlier than anyone at my apartment building. And GUESS WHAT?? In order to get his name I have to go downtown to Police Headquarters and pay $40 plus under the FIA !!!!!!!
My own law suit is sorta just floating along. Its now in the hands of an Insurance Adjuster and he/she will decide what kind of $$$$$ is invovled in the case. They wanted to have a meeting with me but my lawyer said no that I was still too stressed out (AND I AM!) so adjuster submitted 2 pages of questions to me to answer. One of them is to detail in detail what actually happened. I'd rather just walk them all thru it than to have to write it all down again!!!!!
GRRRRRRRRR
Hope all your munchins (pets are fine).

| Dog People Posted: 9/10/2007 7:50:12 AM | daizee, Did the police do a report? Your lawyers should have a copy of the police report. However, recently our department moved from us doing reports for dog bits to no report, the hospital faxing information to the Kennels that impounded the dog and Kennels to follow-up on the invest. Personally, I think that is BULLSH*T!. In situations involving canines, our dispatchers tend to call me if I am working because they know that is my passion. I talked with one of my sergeants about how to bypass the new order that we do not do reports for dog bites. We are there, we help assess the situation, and we interview witnesses and get the owners' info. How can we not do a report when we have that much valid information? Sarge said that I can type an informational Form-1 to our dog warden, so that I validate the info without putting myself on the chopping block. The last time I got a dog bite call, the dogs were gone, and the Victim had gone to the hospital (loose pit bulls were the attackers). They paired me up with another one-person car but there was no danger, so I told him he could take off. The Kennels Officer and I canvassed the street. A lot of them had kids, so they understood and were concerned. They were advised to call the Kennels if they saw these dogs or if they learned who owned them. I had witness information and one man even had security surveillance cameras that captured the attack. I essentially wrote the report for the Kennels Officer. All he had to do was rewrite it on official paperwork. He laughed and said that everyone would know that was not his work. Daizee, If you have to pay for the info, you should get the money back when you win the lawsuit. I encounter tons of people with Pit Bull Dogs. The first time I see them, I advise them that the dog needs to have on a muzzle and they need to carry $100,000 liability insurance per dog. The second time I see them, I cite them for not correcting the matter. I try to give people a chance on ignorance (not beomg aware). As I have said before, my heart aches for you. If I can help you, feel free to email me, but our laws are probably very different. | |
|
| Dog People Posted: 9/11/2007 4:10:36 AM | Yes my lawyer will apply for the Police Report BUT it will be sanitized with all names blacked out. So then he has to apply to the courts to get this santized information released!!!!! No wonder so many victims don't follow thru.
Yesterday I had to write the entire episode up for the Insurance Adjustor and when I got to the point of having Simba put down, I just totally lost it, mega meltdown and MAJOR anxiety attack and medically hysterical.
I couldn't finish the report so I will try some more today. I really wish I only had to tell this story once and not over and over again! I do want to move on but with the ongoing 2 court cases can't. Thanks all your positive wishes me a lot to me.

| Dog People Posted: 9/11/2007 9:38:38 AM | | Lol cult huh hehe. I love animals. Ive had pets all my life. I lived hmm about 6 months with roommates that didnt like animals and damn that sucked. My parents got me a cat when i was 4 years old. Had to put her to sleep when i was 22, that was 10 years ago and i still miss missy. Full name was melissa but at 4 i couldnt say that lol. I have had cats, rats, dogs, and a couple of hamsters. When i was living with my parents still our neighbors had a rott, who was the sweetest friendliest dog ever, unless you were a cop lol. For some reason she didnt like cops at all. Their dog and our dog were friends thru the fence, would run up and down the fence barking and wagging their tails, or rear end for the rott lol. One winter we had a huge storm that blew part of the fence down, we knew they were friends thru the fence but had never actually met. BTW our dog was a shelty lab mix, the size of a shelty. When they did meet though it was like the fence had never been there and they would run around the two yards together playing. They were both really sad when the fence went back up. Our neighbor across the street for awhile had a st bernard. Well at 6 months old, was the size of a horse lol, our dog blackey (was all black) was outside one day and the neighbors dog saw her and wanted to play. Came running across the street to say hi. Well blackey heard this pounding of something huge coming her way, turned around, saw her legs and then looked up up up, when she finally got to the head, she yelped turned around and ran crying into the house. It was so funny to see but poor blackey lol. I live in apartments now, and have a cat and turtle. My cat, comet, belonged to some ex roommates of mine. When i first moved she was about 4 or 5 months old, she was their cat and she started sleeping with me and following me around. When i moved out she of course had to come with me, she had claimed me. Now she is 2.5 years old. My roommate has 5 cats, used to have a lot more when she lived in hawaii. | |

| Dog People Posted: 9/12/2007 4:53:18 AM | | apparently I have PTSD. I REALLY lost it 2 days ago. You are going along doing well and WHAMOOOO!!! This is bloody hell and I just want it over. Talked to a friend and may make a tape of it all so that I DON'T HAVE TO KEEP REPEATING ,myself over again until the FINAL time! I'm so up and down emotional right now I'm not even trying to meet anyone. I'm sick sick sick of seeing doctors. I just want my old self back but I guess that's just not going to happen. | |
|
| Dog People Posted: 10/4/2007 7:55:19 AM | | Time is drawing closer. Nov 2 for the city court date. My lawyer says that it will years and years and years for my lawsuit to go thru. I asked him why. I mean it is black and white and any extended time period only puts $$$$ in the lawyers pockets. I told him by then everyone can be moved on and some people will be dead!!! | |
|
| Dog People Posted: 10/26/2007 6:38:01 AM | Hi well 1 week today is the city/provinces court case. The nightmares and difficulty getting to sleep are increasing the nearer I get. Oh to be all over!! I gotta tell you I am starting to feel sorry that the 3 pits will be put down but I have to remind myself of the owner idiot, he trained them into killers.
So how is everyone and your pets? We haven't posted for a long time.
|
| Dog People Posted: 10/31/2007 11:35:06 AM | Well it is late Wed aft. Early Friday morning is court trial. Just got a bunch of disclosure today. Included the the Emergency Vet Report. I just fell to pieces. Poor Simba must have suffered horrendously. Think of me on Friday. My lawyer has decided to go now just to protect my interests as he has put it. Also a good friend is going with me to hold my hand.
Goldie is okay. She's a little sweetie, she is just not cuddly but I suppose she never learned to be cuddly. She sure dogs my steps. But even after allmost 6 mths I still can't get attached to her. If she'd let me hug her it probably would be better but hugs make her think I'm going to pick her up and that is a no no. So I get down on the floor and lay beside her and petting her. Don't know when next I'll check in but think positive thoughts for me.
|
| Dog People Posted: 2/16/2008 11:59:49 AM | HI. Well its Saturday February 16th, 2008 and the trial is FINALLY going forth on February 19th, regardless of the fellow appearing according to the authorities. There is an article on this matter in today's Globe and Mail. In the trial the fellow faces up to $90,000. fines, 18 mths in jail and paying my expenses arising from the attack. The family moved out of the apartment late evening Dec 22/07 and they have apparently disappeared. Time will tell.
Also for the first time this week, I found out all about my civil lawsuit. The lawsuit will be handled by Insurance Adjusters and my lawyer and has been issued to each member of that family and 7 companies behind the owners of my apt. bldg. I suspect it will drag on for some time altho my lawyer says it is going fine.
I miss Simba so very much, he was so cuddly, and so in your face! lol. Goldie is a sweetie and I call us the two little old ladies! She is quite like a cat in that she is aloof but she has attached herself to me and if that's all I'm going to get, well that will be enough. She puts on a big show when I've been out and come home and she likes to go to bed early. Unlike me tho she likes to sleep in in the morning. That's okay with me as I get to do some things before taking her for her walk
I hope all the Dog People are well and making it thru this wicked winter weather. I am presently reading How To Speak Dog in the hope that I can learn something about getting thru to an elderly dog.
|
| Dog People Posted: 6/21/2008 1:00:07 PM | Its now June 21st, 2008 more than a year since the incident. Got in the prosecution portion of the trial June 10th and the defense speaks to the issues Dec 12. Court has also set aside Dec 19/08 and Jan 9/09 to tie up loose ends.
The youngest of the 3 pit bulls died in custody several mths ago and the other 2 are still in lock up since May 27/08.
Justice is sure SLOW. Problem is courts are so booked that when more time is needed need to book 6 mths in advance. Cruel for the pit bulls in lock up but they were cruel to Simba. I just want it all over! / /
