Posted: 9/5/2009 4:30:56 PM | I think most people who don't post photos are either not serious about meeting anyone or they're afraid certain people they know will see them on here. If I see a lady's profile with no photo and then she sees that I saw it, it's only fair that she post hers. If her profile seems interesting I will email her and ask her to send a pic to my private email. And if it's a blind date and they lie about their appearance, they are only making themself look foolish when they finally meet them. So stop hiding who you are and post a photo.   | |

I came on this site very recently,and I learned within a week what that's all about!
No picky,no talky!Although there are people that will gladly provide you pictures even if they don't show one on their profile,just ask for some.Also when people say their weight is "average",eighty pounds over weight is far from average,and not a great start as you're first "meet and greet" impression,tell the truth,it saves alot of disappointment and wasted time! | |

Posted: 9/6/2009 6:47:48 AM | Actually , to me this demonstrates that one should never place great weight ( no pun intended ... ) on ANY photos .
They may or may not be well taken , or flattering to that person , giving you a possible false negative or positive impression - even if they are current . Also , I've noticed that many people with photos only show themselves from the neck up , or the shoulders up - so you can't necessarily know what's goin' on in bellyland ...
If I get good feelings from prior communications with lots of information exchanged , over time I've met a few people without seeing a photo first . No awful experiences , and even some real good surprises appearance-wise .
Bottom line is you just NEVER know how you'll both feel till you're face-to face ! And even then - expect the unexpected , and keep your sense of humor !!!  | |

Posted: 9/6/2009 5:49:50 PM | I haven't done it, but I suspect it's a combination of both your theories. I guess they're a little deluded and hope if they get you there, in person, you'll give them a chance anyway. I don't understand why anybody would meet someone who didn't at least share a photo privately. It's not hard nowadays to find a digital camera. And they obviously have the internet. The fact that a person would insist on not sharing a photo any which way can't bode well.
I myself only share my photo privately. But I'd never meet someone who didn't share it one way or the other first, nor expect to meet someone if I didn't either. It's crazy. | |
