I see more black men with white women in the south than white men with black women that for sure. You may want to try the social scene around New Orleans if you want to meet black men I mean nice lounges or resturants that have happy hour. Jazz Fest is comming soon also Im sure you can meet some nice black men there. Good luck !

Posted: 4/24/2008 10:06:43 AM | I'm a white guy, a northern transplant down here. Have been in Louisiana since about 10 months before the storm. I have always dated bright, articulate women without regard to race, color, creed, etc. but I do often times find myself more physically attracted to women of other ethnicities and in the community I grew up in, it was widely - though not universally - accepted. The only 2 things I look at are - is she good to me and is she good for me.
I have found it hard to connect with articulate women of color down here. It may be that they are skeptical of a white guy's motives because of the issues some have put out on this board. It may be that they have a prejudice about dating outside their race, because that can cut two ways. Or it may be because I look like the Elephant Man. I'm not really sure. But since there seem to be women of color interested in dating white guys and white guys interested in sincerely dating minority women here in Louisiana, how can we go about breaking down these generalities and seeing each other as individuals and seeing how things go?
Would a meet and greet at a club or a group Zephyers game make sense to anyone? | |

For years, both men and women have been attracted to others outside their race. Not only black and white. Also, there have been laws both here in the U.S. and other countries that prevented any type of relationship out of the local ethnic group. Catholics with Catholics. Jewish with Jewish, etc. Now, the nation is slowly accepting that people have that right to happiness. I can still remember back in the 70's traveling the South with a black friend. Got lots of flack going through Ga and Ala. Not as much in Biloxi. Came home with him and my family later said that they were shocked, but, accepted him because he was a friend of mine from the military. Lost contact with him because he got out and headed to Az and I stayed in the military. Still remember the trip and the experiences we had. I am kinda sad that I'm not near a military base where people are more open minded. | |

If I were you, I would do what you normally do and go for what you want, regardless of what others think or what the status quo is. It's only controversy to peolpe who don't want the change or know anything about dating outside of their race. They make it out to be some kind of taboo, when in reality all it is, is two people of different races falling in love with each other. People who called controversy are really saying that they would rather hold onto their racist beliefs and keep the races seperate. Do what you like because in the end it is you who has to be happy with your personal choices. Good luck...

If you love someone race is or should never be an issue. I have dated a few races. I am just as attracted to one as the other.. Black women are very beautiful and to show I am not a hypocrite.. I recently dated a young lady here in the area and my family fell in love with her..
We broke up a while back for personal reasons but we are still friends and she is dating other people. My family told me I was boneheaded for letting her go .. I could not stop it she was headed in a different direction than I am. so we separated..
I am more willing to find a beautiful lady and treat her right.. like women should be treated.. like a Queen..:)
You can easily get a hold of me if you choose at coast12 on yah oo..
I would love to hear from a lady who just happens to be black any day of the week and proudly show her to the world as she would me..
Remember beauty is only skin deep.. but its a starter.. then we have to go from there..
